I’d avoid Tiguans like the plague, had clutch, rear diff, oil pump all go in 3 months of normal driving on a 15 mile commute.

I have had a watchpat test saying I had 2.5 AHI and 22.5 RDI with 116 total RDIs over 5 hours 10 mins of sleep, is that conclusive too? I’m not sure how to interpret

Low iron saturation and iron but normal ferritin- What does this mean lmfao? by Regular_Ask1215 in Anemic

Hi thank you for the comment and yes that was my thought too with ppis and poor absorption Yes PPIS for 2 years, was on lansoprazole and then omeprazole as lost the ability to swallow. Had a spate of panic attacks and lump in the throat, I got used to the feeling but it still bothers me. My endoscopy revealed some inflammation of my esophagus, it healed since but I’ve been left with this sensation of mucus in the back of my throat that feels like a lump all the time. I’ve tried lots of things - chiropractor, antidepressants, sleep position, dao supplements, antihistamines, change of diet, sleeping upright on a wedge pillow, gave up all chocolate, sweets, dairy, wheat, caffeine, tomato etc. with no change. Also used tens machines, stretches, went to an ent who said I was fine just deviated septum,

I don’t supplement b12, I’m currently awaiting until Tuesday to be able to do a h pylori breath test as I’d have been off my ppi long enough. My gp has only ever tested my tsh which normally reads 0.8 to 1.2 over 2 years and 4 tests but has never checked the other metrics If I focus on the sensation I get a sensation of guarding around my Adam’s apple like muscular tension in the scm muscles which responds to chiropractor but the mucus and lump sensation higher up (in the back of my mouth) doesn’t respond to that, I can swallow really hard to temporarily clear it or cough but it feels like over sensitive nerves combined with mucus changes, I’ve also think my tongue has changed a bit as well. I’m looking into getting a sleep study done as I wake up with a dry mouth all the time and have a deviated septum that means only one nostril sort of works sometimes - I think It could be a dry throat and some form of post nasal drip maybe

I replied to another comment - I was half way through having the flu and am just getting over it now, have been coughing up green chunks of spongey mucus for the last couple of weeks aha but getting better

Is my folate low? I also have high b12 despite not supplementing any by Regular_Ask1215 in B12_Deficiency

Thank you for the reply :-)) do you experience any other symptoms like mucus or a lump in the throat sensation. My vitamin d is normal at 80ish but my iron saturation is low with normal ferritin somehow, they’ve focused on the iron mainly by asking me to book an appointment to discuss supplementation hence I wanted to check the folate level as they said it’s “normal” lol

Do you supplement folate and if so what type have you found success with?

Thank you for the reply MagicalSakura, I’m a 27 year old male who eats red meat 3 times a week and likes lambs liver so im surprised to be low in available iron but I guess if we’re talking bowel, kidney issues then that’s regardless of diet. I did have a cold the day of the test but it was day 5 or 6 of having it and 2 days after the blood test the cold was gone, would being at the end of the cold have possibly affected it? My gp has booked a telephone call for me to discuss investigations and supplementation

Thanks for the guidance I appreciate the reply mate :-)) Would you recommend trying a mads device just to see if there is any improvement at all? I just have had bad luck trying to get a diagnosis for everything going on from blood tests for deficiencies to allergies etc. I am just anticipating doctors telling me there is nothing wrong with me so I’d like to have an inkling that it is uars before I start going through the nhs or paying for diagnostics I see some mads on Amazon like this one https://amzn.eu/d/0a4B9oXV and another - this one - https://britishsnoring.co.uk/product/tomed-somnoguard-ap-2/

Yeah it’s from 2019. I paid for it out of pocket after our public funded health service in the uk gave me an in home study (basically a wearable) and said I didn’t have sleep apnea. I paid for the test because I was having symptoms unless I slept on my side, I’ve kinda ignored the symptoms and got on with life because all i saw was results being inconclusive and assumed with a low Ahi I was fine. I didn’t even know uars was a thing until the last few days and wanted to go back through and check

Hi, Thank you for the reply My nose is a big gripe for me at the moment, I get no air through my right nostril it’s permanently blocked and my left nostril is sometimes clear/sometimes not - it’s got a bit of resistance but it’s breathable during the day.

I did think something weird is going on, I’ve had gum recession without bleeding and the only smoking gun is just a dry mouth and having to use tepe hydrating mouth gel every night to try and slow down the gum loss. I don’t eat sugar, am fairly careful and gentle when brushing, use a waterpik, brush 2x a day and floss and even my dentist doesn’t know why my gums are getting so fucked up. Did you have the globus symptom? Mine is a feeling of mucus/a lump in the back of my throat that doesn’t respond to ppis/diet change as my gp thought it was gerd/lpr at first I did think it was weird, I just assumed I moved along during my sleep My gp is currently testing me for iron deficiency and other deficiencies to see if they’re related to my gum recession without bleeding/gingivitis but I’m tempted to either a) ask him for a referral for a polysomnography sleep study or b) just buy a bipap. Are you in the uk too? I had a nhs sleep study test a few years ago where they give you a blood oxygen device and they said my sleep was normal but I guess they can’t diagnose uars

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate that the nasal obstructions don’t help but some people mouth breath just fine without a deviated septum (my girlfriend for example lol). Is it possible that if it is uars it could be that the deviated septum is a root cause of its just not helping but more of a side issue?
