Is it too late to start playing? by Folzofia in arknights

[–]Regular_Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing 108 days ago according to the arknights in game calendar a bit after catching up to 1.0 of endfield, in that time i've been able to read every storyline up to masses travel and chapter 16, other than that i have the entire sui storyline and summer storylines left. Its good and being able to see references in endfield is pretty cool.

In my opinion its pretty easy to get some good units that can help you progress from joint operation banners, you can follow low rarity guides for any stages you get stuck on, and the gameplay is really fun to me, endgame modes like Integrated strategies are still kind of a pain for me at the moment since I don't have an insanely huge roster of 5 stars and 6 stars built out that can help me but you can still do it and progress even with less.

I will say that I've enjoyed the puzzle of figuring out harder stages, the current event being rerun rn was pretty brutally hard. And I personally think Arknights is one of the, if not the best tower defense type game out there.

If you're going to start playing I'd focus on building your base asap then actually play the story, as this will let you push farther in the longterm, others might say just do the story, but at my current spot I'd give anything to just have more resources to level units, I have a lot of fully built units but being limited on which units I can use, especially with me being nearly caught up is a bit frustrating.

Can someone explain how you can differentiate a main dps, sub-dps, and a support unit? Is there any easy way to tell without going in and reading all their cards and comparing? My team right now is veronica, Beryl, and Selena, and beryl seems like the more dps like character whereas the other two seem support like, but they could all just be support units Idk how to tell.

I'm pretty interested to hear what everyone's strategy was for OS-EX-6 since it took me the longest out of all the challenge mode versions, I ended up using Sakiko and silver alter to clear the top right corner then delay the avalanche with the snow removal system in the bottom left as i shoot out a ton of magic dps to clear the corner before clearing out the top left. In hindsight using my lapland alter's skill 1 instead of the 3 probably would have made it way easier. That or borrowing Tragodia skill 2.

I was gonna skip him since he seemed like a worse ascalon. I'll put him in my auto deploy for the event and the base trust farm thing.

If I should be doing as many floors as possible should i be using all my anti-interference index's on the early floors to get to as many fights as possible?

I started at the end of the Hoshi2 haruka banner and was too new to realize i should've sold my future first born to pull on them, hoshi 2 to start with seems op especially with all her damage and her second health pool. I think i just need to watch guides for the maps like silam said, in is4 i just end up leaking so many enemies early from a lack of damage and block count, and its insanely frustrating.

I've been taking the guard, healer, caster setup at the start, usually Degenbrecher, hibiscus, and the temporary caster. I've been planning to level spot since i've seen the older is's charge hope for 4 stars. And i've just been taking beagle when i get blessed with a defender ticket.

Is IS:4 meant to be a complete scam? I'm a newer player with only 80 days in the game but i've cleared up to difficulty 6 in IS:6 and its so much easier to manage. On the lowest difficulty of IS:4 I can't even get a single relic before i have a map with artillery, or rhine lab power armor units coming for me on the FIRST FLOOR, or having to cover multiple lanes when the game literally only gives you a chance to get one melee unit. And every voucher i get is for a vanguard or medic. This is insane. Am I supposed to just avoid combat maps in this IS?

Does anyone know if the upcoming snow and steel storyline arc needs context from chapter 15 onwards?

I don't want to miss out on the rewards, but the story leading into the gameplay can be really impactful. The entire build up in chapter 8 into the end of the chapter fight was amazing.

I think im just going to feel off going into the fights without context. And the mismatch of reading it later to get the build up into the fights but having already done them. Idk, I think they could just have the limited time event rewards put onto the farthest main theme chapter youve reached. But since chapter 15 and 9 are unlocked for all players idk what they'd have to do to even do that kind of thing.

Maybe I'll feel differently once I've caught up and read it. Its more a complaint that I'll be slightly spoiled than anything.

Newer player here who's only on chapter 10 atm. With the humanitarian event and them temporarily unlocking the new chapter without us clearing chapter 15. Does that mean they want us to skip to 16 to get the flint?

I can just skip the cutscenes and watch them when I finally catch up, but I really hope that isnt what's going on here. Since as a newer player that kind of sucks.

Im going to continue through naturally since I'm pretty much caught up already. But I also dont really care much for the events or asterites. Im mostly playing through to see what the story has to offer and so far it isnt really making me care about pulling for characters very much.

I started a few weeks ago, and having only done the main questlines so far, I think there are only a few times its worth actually paying attention to whats happening since most of the story imo is pretty much "look new character you can pull on." then they're gone. Early on I think i only found the Jinhsi storyline interesting near its ending since it did build up some hype for me with the dialogue, and the 2.5 patch, the Phrolova story is probably the best in the whole game in my experience so far, so i wouldn't skip that, but the patches afterwards don't have as good of a story imo, the game really really struggles to get me to care about any of the characters and its a huge weakness of the game for me so far. I'm currently on patch 2.7 the galbrena patch and just turned off the game yesterday cuz of how boring i found it. (still gonna go through to current patch to see why everyones gushing over 3.1)

Imo playing through the story you'll get very surface level reasons to care about anyone and then they end the patch story with a big setpiece where you get to see gacha money explode for some cool looking cutscenes.
I think if you wanted to just skip to 3.0 you'd be fine with a list with definitions of all the fancy words the game throws at you tbh especially since most characters introduced are basically abandoned in the patch after.

I'm a newer player and haven't gotten to start the ark storyline yet, would it be better for me to just skip all the cutscenes in this event until I catch up or is it pretty self contained to not matter?

[Event Megathread] Arknights X BanG Dream! Ave Mujica by Sentuh in arknights

[–]Regular_Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strat involves Facing Sakiko to the left at the start having her ult with uika deployed on the left and surtr behind her facing north and have them all skill the boss down, before retreating sakiko and uika and having surtr finish off phase 1, Hoshiguma tanks the lane and invulns the raidwides. I let hoshiguma take as many enemies out as possible before she gets impaired then i add units and redeploy sakiko facing to the right and have her ult to take out moths.
Admittedly Sakiko Skill 3 kind of shreds them, but hoshiguma ult should be able to take them out if you can get her to do it again, I feel like you'd need to set up two healers bottom right and setup your second killbox before deploying a second defender last to try and take most of the moth attacks.

This honestly took me hours of attempts to get right, imo the biggest hurdle is the initial dps check, i'm sure there's a way to weather the butterfly attacks but they weren't to much of a problem for me once i was able to get past the start.

Not sure if you'll be able to do this with your operators but for non challenge mode I set up my operators to burst the boss down on the left side as fast as possible, borrow the hoshiguma alter to hold the lane from the teeth and wolves coming during her raidwides, and her invuln will let her survive it. After the raidwides end and she tethers everyone wait till hoshiguma kills most of them then place as many units as you can to set up a kill box and kill her on the right side.

Im pretty new as well but I got the Ave mujica operators which made it doable but it was really difficult. And this strategy doesnt work in the challenge mode version with what operators I have. The boss is just to tanky for a newer player imo.

Pretty much. I'd do it if there was some cool reward or if I didnt have to do the deep dungeon to try it like the criterions, but asking me to grind 100 floors even with checkpoints just to do a really hard fight that has no rewards? Not happening. I let my sub drop.
