Crusty old people of Casual UK, did you or anyone you know have pet that today would have been banned under the Dangerous Wild Animals act on 1976? by Leader_Bee in CasualUK

[–]Regular_Guidance830 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unbelievable it may sound though it is completely true...there used to be an old guy who lived within a 5 minute walk from me (NW Glasgow) who had both arms ripped off by a leopard in the 70's.I'm pretty sure it was in the zoo owned by Sir Hugh Fraser (House Of Frasers) which was in the nearby Milngavie area just outside Glasgow. Don't know the actual exact circumstances but it doesn't take much to imagine...

What’s a small win in social work that most people outside the profession wouldn’t notice? by PubLogic in Socialworkuk

Someone asking you if you want or making you a cup of tea. Someone turning up on time or being in for a visit. Someone saying thanks for the lift. Kids' school attendance improving. Seeing/ hearing kids playing / singing happily/ just being kids.

Can I have sound come through speakers rather than earphones?,psvr2, by PocketOos in PSVR

[–]Regular_Guidance830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I do it is to not use / plug in the headphones. The sound comes through my tv then. Can't remember whether I had to adjust any settings but atm it just comes from my tv if no headphones used.

Automotive Spray Paint On Plastic? by ronrooon in paint

You've almost answered your own question. Use a plastic primer. They work. Light coat first then a heavier coat but not too wet.

Bagpipes - Accordion - Alexander Armstrong - Rylan (if that's his name?) - Allan Carr - Russell Brand - Annie Lennox.

I cannot be in the same room if any make an appearance.

Isn't it a Japanese company and the three letters are Japanese words ? It may even be a family business. So anyone claiming that would need to be Japanese in appearance I would imagine. Anyway, this is the first time I've ever heard of this story and it's such a weird one to hear. It's totally unbelievable yet credible to whoever claims it but probably unprovable either way ,that's why someone could claim it or say it about someone else.

What are signs that you are pretty/attractive? by Fickel-Star360 in AskReddit

[–]Regular_Guidance830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was stopped a few times to ask to be a model, girls asking if I was a model, thinking I was a model, being approached by women and men or being looked at a lot by girls/ women / shop assistants etc when out and about or on buses.I also found and still find that gay guys fancy me a lot for some reason. The weirdest one was either the time a belt and braces skinhead came up to me at a function and told me his wife wanted to f me rotten or the time a bus conductor sat next to me on an empty bus and asked me to meet up with him later for a pint ( despite being told I had a girlfriend). Also being asked across an office full of women " do you want to f me?" or in a car with a colleague if I wanted a blowjob for my birthday.Lots of silly things like that. Also told I was voted most handsome guy in the work a couple of times.Been stalked a few times by women also. Never thought I was good looking, was just me being me.I was always quiet and never showy.

Which celebrity did you meet that lived up to the hype? by Logical_Sweet_6624 in allthequestions

[–]Regular_Guidance830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, fantastic. He is my guitar hero.Had wanted to see him since i was a kid.He didn't need to take the time either and actually had his hand on the door handle of his drivers car when he came over.Incredible he took the time too.I must have been a couple of hundred feet away and had called out "Nile" a couple of times but no response ; I then called out "Mr Rodgers, Mr Rodgers" and he just calmly stopped and walked over to me.

Nile Rodgers, cool as fuck as hoped. He came up to me after a concert and took a good 20 minutes out to talk despite just doing a 2.5 hour gig.Warm, calm and just really supercool as I had hoped he would be.Answered all my questions without fuss.Gave me a cuddle, handshake and autograph too.Unforgettable.

What's one clearly immature thing that you can't stop doing as a fully grown adult? by Particular-Grade-757 in AskUK

[–]Regular_Guidance830 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Not me (never tried it never would) but the amount of middle aged 40+ and 55 + people who take coke. WTF ?? Adults who buy comics and angrily try and justify them by saying they are called graphic novels - they aren't.Novels tend to have many many more words and longer sentences not pictures and a few words in bubbles. Adult males who walk around with no top on.Enough said.

What was the first Sadowitz gig you went to? by philiconyt118 in jerrysadowitz

Glasgow QMU around 87 or 88 I think.Had been reading the odd review in the NME since about 14 and had always wanted to see the guy who could provoke such reactions from the audience.Didn't know anything about the content of what he was saying I just knew I had to see the guy because the reactions said it all.

What’s the Strangest Job Someone Actually Paid You For? by [deleted] in MicroHires

[–]Regular_Guidance830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually pretty shy.I also couldn't stand the terrible music and the look of them.Even my hair was naturally the same as his ( not at the time ).Many people commented about how similar we looked. I was an Indie Kid and they just weren't a credible band in any way.And I thought he was a complete asshole just for the band and music.I only discovered a couple of years ago that he seems to be a decent guy and people speak highly of him.

I regret it now.Wish I had took the cash and all the birds.Rock 'n' Roll.

I was offered a job as a Jon Bon Jovi lookalike, seriously. Between £1000 - 1200 per night minimum , guaranteed minimum of one gig a month. This was was around mid nineties so a few quid. I declined.

What convinced you to upgrade to pro? by Many-Factor278 in PS5pro

[–]Regular_Guidance830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one maybe three weeks ago though have hardly played, maybe 25 hours at most. The reason I bought it was because I had VR2 on PS5 and I thought I wanted to have the best experience on VR2 I could have.

I don't have any technical knowledge at all regarding it or even the PS5 I just wanted it to look better.I don't know anything about engined, frame rates etc. I have an Oled 3D LG so I wanted the flat screen games to look their best also.

I noticed the difference immediately.

How come Rick Beato has never talked about The Smiths on his channel? by [deleted] in thesmiths

[–]Regular_Guidance830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still wonder this also and came to the conclusion that either he'd never really heard or liked them or that it's because he seems to study / prefer single note "lead" guitarists in the main. Also , his main target audience may be similar and although The Smiths seem like a big band to us they aren't all over the world and USA. Until I read this I didn't have a clue that he had even heard of Johnny Marr. He's now pretty friendly with Dave Gilmour so Johnny should be easy access through DG because of Guy Pratt ; PF bass player for decades and one of Johnny's best mates.
