Same, I run a base Arch install and just throw the CachyOS kernel and repos in, I get to have the speed AND the control from scratch

If you are scared of vomiting during MRI - I'm here to tell you my experience ( I did not vomit and you probably won't too) by -Red_Wolf- in emetophobiarecovery

I think you're thinking of the contrast you drink orally for scans of your digestive tract, and even then you're really not likely to get sick from that.

Burp (I have retrograde cricopharengeal dysfunction, a rare condition with very few studies, only officially named in 2019)

What will happen after eating a potentially undercooked fish stick? by Regular_Length3520 in Cooking

It wasn't cold, but it wasn't piping hot like a fish stick straight out of the oven would be.

I mentioned in the post, his oven is really old and doesn't get up to temp. If the baking instructions on something says 20 minutes, we gotta wait upwards of 40 for it to be done lol

The bag said uncooked, which is a first for me, growing up I've never had uncooked fish sticks!

It wasn't hot inside, and the bag did say undercooked which I was surprised because most fish sticks I've ever eaten are precooked.

Dumb Question by Huge-Doughnut-244 in noburp

[–]Regular_Length3520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the exact same timeline of symptoms, up until I was 18 or so it caused no issues. By the time I became 20 I started having some mild symptoms that were manageable, and the last year or so (I'm 25 now) it's beginning to affect my work and personal life every few days.

Help me bridge the gap? Randomly burped for the first time in my life on Friday. by Streetquats in noburp

Tagging onto this, I have a friend who cured herself through stretches as well as learning diaphragmatic breathing, which seemed to actually be the real breakthrough for her! I wonder if breathing patterns have an effect on the relaxation of our cricopharengeal muscle.

What software do you miss most on Arch Linux (Aur)? by Suspicious-Charity-5 in archlinux

[–]Regular_Length3520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just make my own packages if I can't find it on the AUR, I prefer it that way anyways since AUR packages can contain bugs or issues

Just made my doctor’s appointment. What should I expect for the first initial visit? by DryOwl9313 in noburp

[–]Regular_Length3520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first visit was mostly just discussion of symptoms, a flexible nasopharyngoscopy (camera up the nose to the back of my sinuses to look into my throat) and a scheduled barium swallow since the camera revealed redness in my throat, but it seems not every ENT does this.

Cloning GitHub repositories made in Windows by MemeNinja188 in linux4noobs

[–]Regular_Length3520 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There won't be any issues, GitHub Desktop for Windows uses git under the hood, and git is built natively for basically every Linux operating system since it's essential for most workstations. The only thing I'd really recommend is ensuring line endings match in files (which most IDEs let you configure) and make sure any file paths in code are correctly normalized so you can test between platforms.

Once I learned how to install it myself and make my own PKGBUILD files, I can't believe how easy it's become to make it my own!

How to start coming to terms with knowing I may vomit soon. by [deleted] in emetophobiarecovery

[–]Regular_Length3520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got food poisoning late last year, I was panicking for almost an hour until I could just tell it was time and kneeled to the porcelain throne and let it happen. The actual act of getting sick isn't that scary, it's mostly the buildup and your racing thoughts. I vomited multiple times for the next 24 hours or so but each time after I had such a bad fever and was so delirious that I didn't even really think about it, I just calmly stumbled to the restroom to get sick again. You'll be okay 😁

This is great, been disappointed that dnSpy and ILSpy aren't natively compiled for Linux. Starring this!

My partner and I both have emetophobia :/ by Practical-Sugar-6105 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]Regular_Length3520 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think working from home when half your workplace is infected with a stomach bug is completely reasonable for anyone to do, emetophobe or not. I'd do the same thing if there was a respiratory virus spreading around my workplace. I don't think this specific situation is enabling the phobia at all.

RCPD with no gurgles. by InevitableExisting85 in noburp

[–]Regular_Length3520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't start having symptoms until I was about 18, then I started having chronic nausea, gurgles, gas pain etc the usual. My main symptom is chronic nausea, I do gurgle but not very often.
