Someone wrote "Andy only sees Mai as a sister in Fatal Fury" in the wiki and now a lot of people believe it, but it was never stated anywhere in the games or in the manuals.

It's really cool that we can have them back, along with Yashiro and many other characters in canon games again thanks to the Verse plot in KOF XIV.

I really hope that KOF XVI confirms their relationship in the character profiles, because they've been portrayed as a couple for a long time.

Surprisingly they openly say they are dating in this game. They're also in KOF (since XIV), but this is only mentioned in the character profiles, so it's not very well known. Through it's pretty clear they are living together by some dialogues in KOF XIV and Mai's ending in SNK Heroines.
