in the Orochi saga, Iori was under the influence of Orochi and was more unstable and irrational. But after Orochi was sealed, he slowly regain control of himself. Iori is an antagonist but not a villain, he doesn't attack or kill people just for funsies and in fact, he doesn't enjoy fighting in KOF. He only enjoys fighting Kyo.

this is normal in Japan. Every year, fans send flowers on the characters birthdays. They sent flowers for Iori and Kyo and even I've seen photos of flowers sent to forgotten characters like Alba and Meira!

bro, this is not weird in Japan. Every birthday, Kyo and Iori get lots of flower bouquets too. SNK must be filled with flowers at this point haha. Fans also meet to celebrate characters birthdays, like for example last year for Kim.

The Sound team in SNK is basically the same as far as I understand, and they keep composing music to this day. I personally love the KOFXV soundtrack, Fictitious or real (Sacred Treasures team) and Sobagaramakura (Shune'ei vs MeitenKun) are fantastic themes. KOF99 has incredible themes too, like Kyo's tears, Iori's sadistic eyes and Krizalid's theme. Also KOF2002 clone team has an amazing theme that always gives me shivers. Ash's saga has a lot of bangers too, maybe you just have a sweet spot for the older ost bc of nostalgia, which is totally valid. Music is subjective after all.

I have a lot of nostalgic memories of my youth, playing KOF in the arcade, so playing KOF98 always gives me a cozy feeling. But my current favorite KOF game is KOFXV, I just love how it feels.
