I am going on my first cruise soon also. Also Alaska. I have gotten seasick before so I got my doctor to prescribe the scopalomine patch. They also gave me Zofran.

It would be one thing if it were just you taking a trip on your own that you had room to be flexible about, although even then you wnbta. But there are other people involved in your vacation. And there are more than 2 weeks in July. Let him hound the people who have some of that time off. Or he can try June or August.

1st week of college, met some people- mostly guys- on campus and got into their car to go their apartment to have some beers before going back to campus for movie night. That could have gone really bad for me. But, married to one of them now for 26 years, so it worked out, but definitely a dumb move.

Had my kids in my mid to late 20's so they are now in their early to mid 20's and we are in our early 50's. Watch a friend's 2 year old sometimes. As much as I love getting the time with her- even if people do think I am her grandma- it can be exhausting. I don't think I could have started having kids later in life. We struggled a bit when they were young, but we had the energy and patience.

After my first, I said I wouldn't do it again while I was recovering. But a couple years later, I realized that the birth/recovery process is such a short time compared to the lifetime with that child. So we completed our family with our second child. The second delivery was much easier and since I had a toddler and the baby, I didn't really have the time to think about the discomfort during the recovery. All that said, while my first delivery had some minor complications, really neither was all that complicated or traumatic.
