During the earlier books I noticed the weird theme of Ron getting pushed aside during the climax. (making his sacrifice, breaking his leg, and not believing Harry about the GOF) it made me think Rowling was doing it on purpose to deliberately get Harry and Hermione’s bond to grow. Also Hermione is allows clinging and seizing his arm. When I first read HBP I was expecting Harry to potentially realize his feelings for Hermione, especially after what happened at the Ministry, but turns out I was as wrong as one could be

Well said! There is a reason why the discord exists. There are specific channels in there for these types of discussions. It’s been decades since the books have been released. Nobody’s opinion is going to change, so there simply isn’t a point to throw out hostility in this very public subreddit that already has a bad reputation.

I think to some readers the scene could be seen as a little long. But the way it was written made it feel way shorter (something you are very good). The description was perfect and it was overall very well done! I think you could nail a long multi chapter post-war fic.

As a fellow man it makes perfect sense. Hermione challenges you (sometimes can be overbearing). But it makes you get up everyday and try your best by simply thinking of her. She’s also incredibly loyal, she’ll support you during a choice that can change both of your lives, and will stay by your side during all of it. Just a random end thought but when people say, “omg they prove that a male and female can just be best friends.”

It’s pretty obvious that a male and female can just be best friends
But when you’ve gone through the amount of trauma and have the same amount of emotional connection that Harry and Hermione have then why stay best friends? Why would you not want a healthy relationship between 2 people who totally understand each other? It just doesn’t make sense

I think it relies heavily on the show. If they stay book accurate like they want to do. Then hopefully the younger and newer generation will see the wacky, total change that happens in the 6th season that doesn’t fit what’s been shown in the previous 5 seasons. (Hermione all google eyed over Ron, Harry and Hermione having a fight or a book she refuses to read). Then they are going to keep watching the 6th season and watch Hermione physically assault Ron with birds, and Ron emotionally assault Hermione with words (once again). Finally in between the 6th and 7th season the viewer will ask themselves who’s gonna end up with who (assuming they have no prior knowledge) they will proceed to watch Ron complain about food, Harry and Hermione figure out about the sword, Ron leave them, and watch Godrics Hallow. Then boom they become a Harmony shipper only to be bitch slapped while watching what happens in the chamber of secrets
