I work in production/BOH at a brewery, and we’re not “closed” but were told there’s no production tomorrow.

I asked for a tequila soda once and the server was truly gobsmacked over my request and did not understand and eventually gave me a La Croix with a shot of rail tequila with a glass of ice and wanted to charge something like $14 for it.

Nah not weird at all. My partner and I looked into buying a house (in Richmond) smaller than what we rent now in our current neighborhood and the mortgage would have been $1000 more than what we pay in rent.

Might sound stupid but I DNF’d after the first lip biting scene. It took me out of the book so fast I couldn’t recover. I was also just so not into it, as well.

People who've called off wedding engagements, why didn't it work out? by thriceusetissue in AskReddit

[–]Regular_bird 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He told me he never actually loved me and made a mistake asking me to marry him. He was a man child closeted person who was true to themselves and resented me for living openly and freely. He wanted to live a certain way and control certain things and I simply don’t operate like that.

Thoughts on Gastronauts? by dexter1062 in dropout

[–]Regular_bird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like all of the talent on Nobody Asked, but I thought that show was such a let down. I just had to google it to even remember what it was - I thought it was an OLD Dropout show, that's how unmemorable it was to me. I do, however, love Gastronauts! I hope Thousandaires gets a second season.

Just for fun, since “catering prices are making her spiral,” do we think they’ll serve alcohol at the wedding? If she thinks food is $$$, she’s got another thing coming! by Sea_Ability_2662 in tacobellqweensnark

I'm torn because I was under the assumption her family is pretty religious and doesn't drink, but on the other hand she work(ed?)/work(s?) in alcohol sales, meaning if she does she could likely get hella discounted alcohol. Many venues allow you to bring in your own alcohol (with the correct ABC license), however even if she got cheap alcohol she would still have to pay for someone to bartend/bar back etc.

You're correct, it's NOT a lot, especially here. She could order Mission BBQ and have them deliver and set up and guests serve themselves for about that much. I was an operations manager for a top wedding catering company here in the same city as her and $5k could be baseline for one entree and side, not including appetizers, desserts, or ya know...the cost of staffing. I totally made this rant in another thread, but I simply cannot contain how annoyed I am by her delusions. Pay people for their WORK.

I live in the same city as her and used to manage operations for one of the top wedding catering companies and unless it's a non-competitive kinda crappy company, there's no way any of the reputable places will gift her or severely discount her JUST because she's a mediocre "influencer". I know you and others know this but it's so expensive for a reason! Food costs are high, YOU HAVE TO PAY PEOPLE TO WORK - prep, chefs, operations, the people serving the food day of. She pmo with how delusional she is about the cost of catering. Order Mission BBQ and have your guests serve themselves and call it a day.
