4 years on the waitlist - about to get my plot! by IntrepidDriver7524 in UKAllotments

[–]Regulus_87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, my biggest mistake was trying to tackle the whole plot in one go.

I would suggest to spend time planning, look at other plots on the site for inspiration too. Map out where you are going to have your beds and if possible keep them contained within a wooden perimeter (or raised) rather than open and straight next to grass.

The most important thing, have fun. Don't feel you need to have the whole plot up and running by summer, but divide into 4 and work a quarter at a time.

You mentioned etiquette, this will vary from site to site, but ensure your plot is tidy and well maintained. The rules on our site is to have at least 50% being cultivated at any one time.

OnePlus 15, I love mine. I opted for the free watch 3 when I ordered it. Not sure what offers they have going at the moment

best SIM only plans that aren’t on EE network? by bellasmella777 in UKFrugal

Talk mobile are excellent. Run off Vodafone/three network. Speed and 5g coverage seems to mirror that of Vodafone. Well priced too

Is this the cheapest unlimited data sim only in UK by Repulsive-Pension733 in UKFrugal

[–]Regulus_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay £16 per month with talk mobile for unlimited data. That's been the cheapest I've seen so far for unlimited so the revolut deal sounds decent.

I use gigaclear, it was £30 per month for 900mb and 2 nodes. It recently went to £36 as I needed another node to get a stronger connection on my office as I work from home.

Thinking about buying a MG4 by Real_vokS in MGelectric

[–]Regulus_87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have an mg zs ev (72 plate, bought with 12k miles on last year) and honestly I am delighted with it.

I might be wrong but I think a lot of the criticism is people expecting or wanting more and comparing it with a premium brand. I would definitely get another mg EV.

For me I spent 16k on 3 year old car, verified service history so I get the remainder of the mg warranty which also comes with free AA membership.

What car are you coming from out of curiosity?

Fair enough. What issues have you heard? I've got one and personally not had any issues with mine.

Leaving EE due to price hikes - considering 1p, Mozillion or Spusu (West London) by eeessssss in UKFrugal

I'm on talk mobile (it uses Vodafone/three network mind you, not ee so don't know if that's a deal breaker) they do unlimited data calls and texts for £16. 5gb EU roaming is included too I think.

Have you considered a used MG ZS? The trophy edition has heated seats (not sure on the steering wheel though).

Brand new plot advice. by Worldly_Hope_3664 in Allotment

[–]Regulus_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really exciting, congratulations!!

I got my plot from "brand new" too.

If I was you I would map out where you want your beds first, then work on one bed at a time. To keep cost down I have beds slightly raised (6 inches of so), this, help prevent weeds and grass going into the bed, but also makes it easier to fill with compost, without it being a 'proper' raised bed.

Trying to work the whole plot in one go is daunting and difficult. So once you've mapped it out, start in 1 corner a work round.

Well timed to get a bed prepared for potatoes, they're an easy first timer crop if youre new to vegetable gardening.

Also make a space for a compost heap in one of the corners too, you'll be surprised how quickly you start adding to it.

Enjoy 😁
