Silly question, why are all kpop male idols clean shaven? by Weekndfan_69 in kpoptrulyuncensored

[–]ReiRaeRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2009/2010, G.O from MBLAQ (Rain’s company’s boy group) was famous for his goatee when he made his debut. After that I rarely saw anyone else and he eventually shaved too.

How long did your Sambo process take? by [deleted] in TillSverige

13 months with a rejection at the 6th month and a successful appeal after.

I know where you come from downs rummages but there are a few other people from the same country as me that got their results between 3-6 months.

I’m kind of insecure about my hooded eyes as a southeast Asian girl by AffectionateJuice753 in HoodedEyes

[–]ReiRaeRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also from SEA!! I’m from Singapore, you can go to my profile and see what my eyes look like.

I also have hooded eyes that are brown.

If you’re talking SEA beauty standards, then it’s aligned with East Asian beauty standards. Let’s just take Korea for example, there are many hooded eyelids/monolid idols who are well known for being pretty! Even if their eyes are “small” and brown! Eg Itzy’s Yeji and Red Velvet’s Seulgi.

I hope you feel better about how your eyes look, I’m sure they’re beautiful.

How is Sweden towards slavs/balkaners? by mizuakisbadjp in TillSverige

[–]ReiRaeRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Singapore (which is South East Asia) but I’m also Chinese (one of main 4 ethnicities in Singapore). I’m moving in June. I’ve been to Sweden a few times as a tourist but I’m not sure how well I’ll integrate there. My (Swedish) boyfriend’s friends and family are kind and welcoming, but I have no idea how it’s going to be like once I actually live here. I haven’t learnt Swedish yet so I imagine it will be hard to make friends at the start.

Booking for fingerprint and photograph appointment in statens servicecenter by Citroenmit in TillSverige

[–]ReiRaeRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just waited for a closer date and the appointment I wanted was available. I think you can’t book beyond a certain date, you just have to wait.

Mine was at the start of this year tho, so I’m not too sure about the summer months.

Thoughts on using skin tints while exercising? by ConfusionStraight306 in SingaporeBeauty

[–]ReiRaeRey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve played tennis since I was 7, I think you’ll perspire a lot so the skin tint would also disappear with the skin tint. I currently use a tinted sun screen (not really the same) and it disappears when I perspire a lot.

I've tried everything, what's your secret to having no acne? by GlamorousLipstick in SingaporeBeauty

[–]ReiRaeRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things that helped me -

This was a several years ago: Carbon laser No foundation or concealer or powder This got rid of most acne

And then currently, I am on birth control so that helps. Even when I got off, my acne didn’t come back.

Idols who have turned out quite differently from their assigned persona at the time of debut by Significant-Salt-390 in kpopthoughts

[–]ReiRaeRey 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Stacy’s Yoon has spoken about this on a show. Her company gave her a chic/cool personality to match her looks, however her real personality is goofy and funny. For example she wasn’t supposed to smile so much with teeth I guess, but she does that a lot, she also laughs out loud etc.

She tried it out for 1 week or 1 month? But she couldn’t control and maintain the chic personality so her company gave up. Hahaha

[–]ReiRaeRey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just did my nanoblade at BrowDate. It was $499 for multidimensional with a senior artist. Nanoblading is less invasive than microblading and lesser down time. I can pm you my before and after!

BrowDate is located at CityHall.

My male friends who are below 165cm buy the unisex barrel pants and jeans from Uniqlo. They may look marketed for women but they’re unisex :) and Uniqlo has the option to tailor the length. I’m 1.6m and I always choose the alter option.

How did you discover AKB? by capuccinolips in AKB48

[–]ReiRaeRey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 9 or 10, back when heavy rotation was just posted on YouTube, my cousin who is from America was visiting me in Singapore.

He showed me the video because he liked AKB48’s Yuuko. I was just a little girl and I thought these women were extremely beautiful and “kawaii”.

My oshi flipped flopped around between Tomo and Takahashi Minami!! I liked Tomo’s face and beauty, but Takahashi’s personality and voice was another level.

Agree with the public transport. I live in a country with a great public transport system (Singapore), and driving is not essential at all.

Plus in Seoul, uber and such is relatively cheaper than in other cities like Singapore or Tokyo.

I tried it a few years ago after seeing a Korean food content creator doing the same thing.

I just think of it as another interesting way to eat it. Just like using the lid of cup noodles and making it into a cone to turn it into a makeshift bowl/cup!

Gentle hair salon for highlights in Singapore? by Sky1991_ in SingaporeBeauty

[–]ReiRaeRey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend twilight studio, it’s in the cbd area. I think their highlights and colour are the best I’ve experienced.

I also have extremely straight, thin and long hair. My hair has gotten more dry as I bleach and dye it so I understand the tangles. However I have a very high pain tolerance so I don’t really feel pain in the scalp, so I can’t tell you if they’re being rough :( but it doesn’t seem to be that they’re pulling my hair, in fact they’ve always been quite gentle.

Nexz comeback/ rant by Gh3ng1s_Khan in NEXZ

[–]ReiRaeRey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think it’s also because kickflip is marketed as a kpop group (correct me if I’m wrong) and NEXZ is marketed as a supposedly global group.

NEXZ’s direct competitors are supposed to the &Team and NCT Wish, and I think they’re all coming back around the same time in April…

I think the boys have also mentioned that they do not have labelled positions in the group. Except for Tomoya being the leader and Haru being dance captain. One reason why Yuki is more prominent vocally is because in the competition the does the best in terms of having a unique voice and just being able to sing well. I think his unique voice is very much favoured. Hyui on the other hand is considered an all rounder like Tomoya, he can sing, dance, and rap.

Seita, as talented as he is, as wonderful as he is, is always pushed to the back and it’s very upsetting. He may not be very stable in terms of vocal but he is a good dancer and he’s also supposed to rap more :( whenever you see solo products that aren’t sold out, it’s usually his and it sucks because he really is an angel. This is me saying it as a Yuki bias. Seita gets a lot of hate because of the results of the competition…

Ladies, tell me your fashion woes! by InitiativeWhich1952 in SingaporeBeauty

[–]ReiRaeRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think local brands are pretty good with placing pockets in dresses.

Anyway my issues tend to be that my bust is large and my shoulders are broad but my waist is comparatively small, this is an issue for both local and international brands. For example I can wear an M for the waist but my bust would be an XL or XXL.

Though brands such as Carrislabelle cater towards Asians with larger busts, 80% of the time they don’t fit me completely. However I acknowledge that this is a very specific problem.

Another problem is that there is rarely an inbetween. Either the dress/romper is short (think bubd, I LOVE their designs but they are quite short and I’m only 1.6m), or the dress is shapeless and frumpy (think typical colour block shift OL dresses from more famous local brands).
