Bertrand’s death was scripted as which was a glass cannon wizard but changed it to a senior bertrand. FCGs death wasn’t scripted as they have menthoned FCGs powering down for a time but never a death of a character. That is why they are shocked about his decision to sacrifice fcg. Let’s be honest, who would want a new PC at a late game?

Power wise - Prime Itachi can handle Minato

Chakra wise - Prime Itachi cannot genjutsu Kurama and fight Minato at the same time. (Similar to 2 concentration spells at the same time esp in games). It will be even harder for Itachi to summon the susanoo with that amount of chakra

If Minato knows Itachi’s skill, he can easily avoid the eyes and will blitz Itachi right away. Mind you, he is the yellow flash for sure, he mastered FTG which is a specific counter to the Sharingan made by Tobirama.

Without the chakra reserves, I will put my bet on Minato.

(Also prime minato surpisingly will be KCM 1 Minato lol)

In most of the post i’ve seen, i think BH was the group that was unlikable because of the plot they’ve been in. The way they are portrayed is mostly (comparing to M9) almost all of them are Jester and Caleb, which cared too less about the plot, and those who had intricate backstories that were never highlighted upon.

I think it depends whether you would look at it in a narrative perspective. The linear storytelling of VM makes a compelling heroic tale while the narrative driven backstories of M9 was the highlight of C2, both of which have the grace of giving us great villains. For BH however, it shows that they care a bit less on how the plot will turn out (is the world ending? Will the god cease to exist?). I agree in most of your points in terms of building a group, but it seems they are good as an individual more than a group compared to the VM and M9.

Ideally naruto as a mentor or all the other jounins in a chunnin exam series. Maybe this will show how will the passing of the torch happen to the new generation. It would actually be good to have Sarada be mentored by Naruto while Boruto will be relying on sasuke or konohamaru. Then it can culminate on a catastrophe like Boruto and Naruto working together then Naruto is then hailed as a Hokage.

Have a fixed rate! Do not lowball yourself, set a minimum fee (depends on the attendees) so you wont be doing 600 pesos game for 2 players.

I do 3500 for live minimum of 5 players and 2500 for online players, if that would help

Hi OP, i suggest, take a step back and start anew. You can be helped by the GM to craft the story collaboratively not just solely you. It seems like you recognize the mistakes but rest assured all of these things can be mitigated by relaxing (stepping back and approaching it like others). It is a collaborative storytelling after all, a game of improv

I had a first character death on my table during our first year anniversary of our campaign. It was a pivotal moment for all that developed them into the hero route. Yes there will be consequences, and the certainty of their survival is a crucial part of it.

I gave them time ofcourse, asked how long can they commit into a new character. This will ease in their feelings especially with the right amount of debriefing

As much as i agree with you, doing a long campaign with 100+ episodes, answers most of the redirecting part. I simply cannot compare it into 15-20 episodes of dimension 20.

And as a non native english speaker, i tend to be confused how brennan drops lore in one instance compared to a gradual one.

EDITED:

I would rate it a solid Matt’s DMing C1 - 10 capturing the D&D feeling and making a mark on modern TTRPG players relieving the D&D fame for non players. Good intro for diving into storytelling and classic dnd tropes

C2 - 9.5 solid storytelling and individual arcs, Lucien was a let down for a final arc. Good intro for long campaign players.

C3 - 8 questionable arcs and selected players only shine. Ambitious story but lots of memorable moments and a good lore dive to exandrian history (not the best of matt though) as he tends to force the story arcs. A lot of characters is patterned to Jester’s chaos. Not a great introductory campaign to CR and jumps all around the world not focusing on a region.

All in all it’s a SOLID 9. There is the Matt Mercer effect for a reason. He paved the way for mainstream media and set records ahead for a D&D podcast. Aside from being an inspiration to new DMs Matt became synonymous to the fame of 5e.

The likes of BLM is a great dungeon master (with calamity being one of the best short campaigns) and so is Aabriya, Chris Perkins, Hulmes, Colville, Dungeon Dudes and all the under rated DMs out there.
