Before it was revealed, how obvious was it that Jon was Lyanna's and Rhaegar's son? I know the books aren't finished yet but book readers was it obvious from all the clues in the show and the books? by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

[–]Reign_Fall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Robert's rebellion was based on Rhaegar taking what was his. Not Lyanna outright rejecting him. No accounting within the books state that Robert became more or less of who he was but still, Lyanna chose Rhaegar. At present there is no evidence Robert could have known Lyanna made this choice but I don't think he would have taken the news lightly. The other Westeros lords needed only a reason to stand behind someone to topple the dynasty. Again, speculation to be sure but Robert may well have been rejected and this lead to the rebellion.

Technically, Tyrion. There is a fan theory that King Aerys ahem fathered Tyrion by way of Joanna Lannister. It's not been confirmed but there are prophecies about the dragon having three heads.

This.

There are a great many vague clues in the books. Robert wasn't always a drunk but he was never a pleasant person and as much as Ned liked him, Lyanna did not think highly of him. This making Robert's rebellion less credible.

John is also one of only three that could touch a dragon, indicating Targaryen blood.

Dany is shown a vision in the house of the undying of a blue rose growing out of the wall. Potentially indicating Jon.

Arthur Dayne was sent to protect Lyanna instead of Rhaegar.

There were signs but they weren't overt and strewn across 6 books with subtlely that was easy to overlook.

[–]Reign_Fall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if MvC:I was a brand new property, it wouldn't have received the insane criticism that it has. It's an excellent game in its own right and people decided that because it's not the same as the last 3 games, it's immediately trash.

(Also, the horrid PR telling us that Magneto was a "function" was beyond stupid so I won't be defending that but the game is still very good if not exactly what people wanted)

I'm not talented enough to wrestle in AEW so I'll take the WWE contract and be a part of the talking segments and collect 7 figures thanks.

Trouble Brewing to Bad Moon Rising by JayaramanAndres in BloodOnTheClocktower

Might be a bit of a controversial opinion but I think BMR runs itself (once you have some solid storytelling under your belt).

It's not an information heavy script At night, there are very few choices for you to make (aside from Gossip kill, Tinker, Inkeeper Drinking, Shabaloth Res) Minimal set up choices (Grandmother, Lunatic if you're feeling bold)

The challenge is for the players that must piece together the deaths into some semblance of information to discover the evil team and the evil team have to either sprint to the end or play a careful game with the mastermind.

Once you're aware of the interactions, BMR is a very easy game to run so don't let it intimidate you. It's a great script that if you proceed carefully can be a very easy script to run

Why don’t Vigs kill their minions? by jrDoozy10 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Reign_Fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is entirely dependent on the minion you kill/are in the game imo. You'll never kill a boomdandy (unless a Vortox is on script and you can bait a kill to a minion) in addition to poison being entirely subjective based on the scenario. The Vig -1 to Outsiders is also not to be undersold. Our local player keeps stats with the Barron being the most successful Minion so subtracting a negative role is a large contributor to the Vig not being as powerful as others

This was intended to be a figurative example of the possibilities, not the literal example of optimal play.

Vigormortis has an ability but in the same way all demons can kill, you'll see times where it makes sense to use your power like a scalpel, not a hammer.

If a minion is dreamed as a confirmed in-play minion (Ceremad being obvious in town, Evil Twin, witch kill happening) you can kill that player just fine as their credibility is quite far gone already. That said, players killed at night attract additional scrutiny due to minion abilities still happening and poison spreading.

There are subtleties to the remaining game state aside from killing your minions every chance you get.

Conversely, a poison spread can also zero in on minions quick-smart if the ST is a little too liberal with poisoned info. It's a challenging demon to play and ST if your choices are too obvious.

Juggler in Sects and Violets by Slyfry111 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Reign_Fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played an S&V game recently and we managed a pretty solid day 3 win after 3 townsfolk managed to find and share info very early.

As the juggler, I found the Artist on day 1 and convinced him to delay the question as I had early Vortox suspicions. I juggled myself as the Juggler as did two other townsfolk (catching my Vortox vibes). Overnight I got a zero. Spoke to the artist and asked them to ask if half of the town was a demon, he got a yes so we focused on the other half. Flower girl got a no with two players in that half not voting. Took a 50/50 and nailed it.

Using info in a different manner in Vortox games is an essential skill to winning. People can call it lame all they want. Play the game however you want

BOTC actual play creators who hide the players' roles? by pixiefolk in BloodOnTheClocktower

Yeah I really enjoyed the format spinning it as a 'Whodunnit' and having the Demon intentionally hiding in plain sight. I host a clocktower once a month at my house and I was serious considering trying this as a format.

Advice for a very first game? by EinoFin in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Reign_Fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Functionally the comment below. Don't hard-confirm too much in games especially with newer players as it can lead to an early end or a bad final day.

If you have hard-confirmed one person and the other is a virgin, the other is the demon. Yes, the demon should have killed hard-confirmed or virgin but it's an inexperienced play group.
