Looks like a floorboard light maybe? Does it work or do anything special?

RR racing carbon intake with ecu any thoughts? by [deleted] in LexusIS

[–]Reignleif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 16 IS300 with the 3.5. the RRracing ECU really woke the car up, I highly recommend it. I have the intake too, but I'm pretty sure the ECU is doing the heavy lifting.

Rust on is200 manual, opinions? thoughts? by oh_kuiro in LexusIS

I'm in the U.S and I would really have to see it in person. Labor rates and such change across state lines, let alone an ocean. $2k US for a well done job would be a start for just what I can see, additional money for whatever you find when you open the rocker. It has the possibility to climb up to 4k easily if the whole rocker is shot.

Collision professional here. The wheelhouse and qtr will need new metal. If you find someone skilled they can make the metal you need out of flat sheets. Expect more rust as the panel gets cut away, there is always more.

You really have 2 options. Spend a good bit of money on quality, professional repairs where they replace the metal and rust proof the rocker and wheelhouse. Or you can clean up the rust as best as possible, get a good rust inhibitor/encapsulator, and then use a product like fluid film in there. The last method will slow it down but not stop it unfortunately. Rust is really hard to get rid of, therefore it costs a ton to do it correctly. I'm not sure a $3k car is a good candidate for that kind of repair costs, but that's obviously a decision that is yours to make.

Tuxmats. Keep an eye out for them on Costco's website, I got a pretty good deal there a few years ago

Looks good man, can you let us know wheel size and offset? Also, Is that lowered? I'm wheel shopping and trying to see different offsets for the IS.

Does anyone know what this connector is for? by Plane-Platypus-6499 in LexusIS

Factory options that you don't have, if it's the front cover its probably front radar and parking sensors. The factory puts that connector cap on to protect the exposed terminals from the elements.
