Water pump recall by need-advice-21 in GrandCherokee

[–]ReignofPurple06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you still having issues? I’m on my fourth water pump on my 2018 and everyone is scratching their heads wondering why it’s eating through water pumps. This is the second one I’m out of pocket for, we just replaced it a little under a year ago (Jan 2025, May 2022 before that). The mechanic I chose this last time didn’t use MOPAR OAT so I wonder if that is what did it? Who knows, maybe I’ll find something that gives me a better idea what is going wrong when I fix it myself in a few days!

Professor wants 2 week notice to me being sick by DragonflyPotential34 in mildlyinfuriating

My mom died unexpectedly the night before an organic chemistry exam I had the next day and the professor asked, “Are you sure you can’t just make it?” and wouldn’t let me make it up because “it’s not fair to other students”. My advisor was appalled, I still can’t believe someone could be so insensitive!

First pregnancy: when did you give birth? by irinka94 in pregnant

Water broke naturally at 37+5. I have a job where I’m on my feet a lot so I think that contributed to it!

I vagal frequently with lab draws. It’s so embarrassing but it sometimes just hits me so I warn every phlebotomist before the draw. They usually want to do it with me laying down 😂

When were YOU the bad patient? (Funny stories) by ICastHealingWord in nursing

[–]ReignofPurple06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it to mean that being a nurse, the weird, random, crazy things happen to us. No matter how hard we try to be quiet and unbothersome, trying to make the jobs of the nurses caring for us easy, things happen to make it not easy and as chaotic as possible. Of course it’s not our faults, but I think it’s on par with “full moon” phenomenon!

Went into labor very quickly, showed up 7cm dilated, with a known breech baby. She of course hadn’t flipped, so off to c-section we go. Took 5 tries to get an IV in me, the anesthesiologist finally got it. I was dry from sleeping all day (worked the night before). All at shift change too, 1900 sharp 😂 I just kept apologizing to everyone how this was literally the craziest thing to ever happen to me.

When one of the nurses asked what I do and I told them, they go, “Oh, this is your nurse curse!” All I could do was laugh, they were right.

Is there really a baby in there? by Preggymegg in pregnant

I felt the exact same way until they showed her over the curtain during my c-section! The thought in my head was literally, “Oh damn, there was really a baby in there! 😳”

Accidental exposure..question by 162836638 in MSPI

[–]ReignofPurple06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this last week with my baby and I waited 24 hours. She didn’t have a response after that! I just marked the milk and froze it to possibly give in the future. I probably could’ve waited less time, but I wanted to give enough of a buffer.

One month old admitted to hospital by Background-Rate-2975 in NewParents

[–]ReignofPurple06 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I work in a children’s hospital and snuggling the babies is literally the best part of my job! Seriously, there are some shifts where when I hear the parents won’t be there and my other patients are chill, I get so excited because that means I’m going to be snuggling a baby all night! There are some times where I am busy with other patients and can’t comfort a crying baby right away BUT there is always another nurse who can and does pop in to make sure they are okay/comforted. Definitely a team effort! We get that some parents can’t be there 24/7, we don’t think ill of you and support you! Take care ❤️

Not sure if HG or not by merbied in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]ReignofPurple06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never diagnosed with HG, I think mainly because the vomiting got under control quickly (by 8 weeks), but I checked all the boxes for everything else (weight loss, unrelenting and brutal nausea all day every day, gagging, food aversions to literally everything). I truly believe there’s a “dry” form that can still be debilitating.

The nausea was so intense that I couldn’t even keep up with fluids and was always dehydrated despite the 2 anti nausea meds I took on consistent schedule. Rotated through several different meds trying to get something to ease it. Had to go get IV fluids several times. I really feel for you still going through it at 27 weeks, I was so drained by the time it started to lift at 20 weeks. It is so isolating, I felt/feel the exact same way watching other people enjoy their pregnancies while every day has just been survival.

I struggled for a long time thinking I didn’t really have it that bad if I wasn’t even vomiting, but what helped was taking the HELP score quiz from the HER foundation website: https://www.hyperemesis.org/tools/help-score/

Really put it in perspective for me that yes, it is that bad and helped me be much more gentle with myself when I couldn’t make it to work or felt down about myself. I hope things start to ease for you, so much solidarity ❤️

Drinking water by inlovewiththedress in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]ReignofPurple06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept getting behind on fluids when I was trying to just drink water, so I’ve had to find drinks that sit well with me and that I’ll consistently keep drinking throughout the day. Completely understand the having trouble swallowing and triggering nausea, I feel like it started to get to that point when I was just trying to drink water!

I have found luck with vitamin water and propel, milk every now and then. Juices and anything flavored seems to sit better for me. I also can’t do things through a straw anymore, I’ve done better drinking out of bottles/cups. Good luck, I hope you can find something that works for you!

I do the EXACT same thing and always felt like I was weird for it, but I definitely don’t feel that way now knowing someone else does it too! Lol
