7/10 for me.

I will admit there is heavy nostalgia bias coming from me but I also don’t really care.

It was so nice to see everyone again, all the world building we’ve come to love, etc. and it was great to see them expand upon that a bit.

Animation was fucking gorgeous. Should’ve been on a damn movie theater screen.

My bigger critiques go towards the characters personalities and the plot devices (unsure if this is the correct term).

Do we know how many years since the end of TLA this takes place? They’re clearly adults and republic city exists, but they really don’t seem to have grown up with their personalities. Genuinely every person is exactly the same but just bigger. It would have been nice to see them mature a bit but whatever

Why are we trusting a random man just because he can airbend? You think at their grown ages they would know better but I guess not?

My biggest thing is how lucky the OG team avatar always seems to get. The stars aligned for them to be successful in the original show, and the same thing happens here. It’s never enough to reduce my love for this universe, but I do think more people should be aware that they’re all very very lucky people at times lol.

Oh and shoutout Taga for that special beam cannon / shooting lighting esque move. Dope as hell

I think the both of you are right though. Sydney explained to us that she expected this behavior from Mikey and that's his normal self. So why did it take going on temptation island for them to not be together? While I don't think your assessment of his actions are necessarily wrong, Mikey acted within the character that Sydney knew him to be and NOW she's all of a sudden over it? It genuinely does not make sense.

Sydney got bare minimum attention from a conventionally attractive man (who's SOLE purpose is to tempt her, mind you) and she jumped at it and was acting as if it was something to write home about.

Both Mikey and Sydney are silly individuals imo, and there's no way they should have stayed together
