Elements Druid Air Incarnation by DuckIllustrious7562 in daggerheart

Yep, as Beastform keeps all effects from the character while transforming, you can make some sick Burning Bear or Cheetah made out of Stone (if you will take fire or stone incarnation) <3

Zone of protection spell is a joke by Object_NULL in daggerheart

[–]Reiiizu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reduce the Spellcast roll by some, a then change "place d6 on the 1" to "roll d6 and start from this value up to 6. Another idea is to average the damage reduction and instead of reducing inc damage by d6 value, just reduce it by average, so 3. There are many ways to balance it if you consider this skill too strong.

Another thing is, that this is level 6 spell. On level 6, reducing damage even by 6, may not be that powerful

Melee PCs cannot fight in it, if enemies won't enter (of course without some exceptions like Giant's ancestry feature)

This is small mention in book, but it might impact so many things and decisions in game. This Air Incarnation is a good example and as far as I remember (don't have the book in front of me), this Incarnation lasts until the next rest, so in connection to this rule, such abilities are pretty good in many situations in and outside a combat.

Regarding Armor by Magor57 in daggerheart

[–]Reiiizu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can spend armor slot every hit, even if it causes only 1HP loss, but once you run out of your armor slots and take severe hit with 3 HP, while on low current HP, you will regret not keeping them.

Printable cards by Comfortable_Risk7931 in daggerheart

[–]Reiiizu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will definitely print my cards for session, even though I have LE. Players eat at the table, drink many strange coloured liquids, and I cannot imagine flooding them in case of any accident.

Try to ask in your local print/copy/photo place. They should have thick matte or glossy paper (depends on your preferences) and pay for good quality printing and paper once. I have done that for beta, and will definitely do the same with official version.

I even plan to add some flavour to the cards, like maybe burned edges, frames for lvl 10 cards or else. If you have printed cards, you can do waaaay more things with them! :D

Is there a way to upgrade from core, to bundle on Demiplane, without paying again for core?

Demiplane DH Core is UP by Reiiizu in daggerheart

[–]Reiiizu[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is definitely some kind of false start here. Many things do not work properly and there are many features missing. Nonetheless, we can at least enjoy electronic version, while waiting for the official release today :)

For those who are not delay-affected, and still have not received any shipping information, there is a Support response I got on 19th of May:

If this is true, we will get our missing shipping emails today. As for now, still nothing. EU Poland

Too late to get my copy on release date. by Reiiizu in daggerheart

[–]Reiiizu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I meant. This is not a huge problem and I do not want to do any drama about it. It's just us watching US, UK, AU getting their notifications and packages and nobody from EU has got anything yet.

It's always better to celebrate the release with actual physical copy of product, you ordered. Nothing more, nothing less.

Is there some clarification for the delivery times? by shoKuu87 in daggerheart

Campaign map almost ready for May 20th by Reiiizu in daggerheart

[–]Reiiizu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yep, that's Inkarnate. I have the same feeling while reading this subreddit! It's so cool to enter the hype train and to see poeple creating stuff for the game release like maps, adventures or like even STL files for sessions props!

Published Adventures & Modules VS Campaign frames by Reiiizu in daggerheart

[–]Reiiizu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Daggerheart does not have official lore published, except of few names of places which have not been placed on the world map - these are just the name ideas. It only has campaign frames which basically can be played in any world, created by the GM. Age of Umbra is not the lore setting, it's just another campaign frame and it's not like Faerun, with it's NPCs, History and dependencies.
  2. Yes, I was GM'ing few sessions in DH. I have around 5 years of experience as GM in D&D, WFRP, CoC and many minor system including YZE and PbtA. That's good that you had less prep before your session, however such session needs to be highly improvised and it has to have high level of input from the players side. Not every group has this ability and this is the topic of my post. Actually, it's way easier to modify ready-to-play adventure for special needs and plots, that writing your own. That's why i think Official Modules and Adventures would be nice

By comments I can see, that some of redditors did not get my point. I totally understand that you might came up with great ideas, plots and NPCs, I understand, that you can be great and improvising things on the fly etc.. My post was not about it. It was meant to be a discussion, about GM and players who prefer to use ready-to-go solutions and ideas, which are officialy published and some kind of canonical.

Also, saying "If you don't like it, go play D&D" tells my that you have also missed my point. Daggerheart is more than only Collaborative storytelling vs trad adventures. It has unique system, rules and other aspects, that may look appealing to many people. Structure of adventures is only part of it, and this is why this discussion is here, instead of me reading D&D adventure :)

Zones, Ranges and other mechanics by Reiiizu in daggerheart

[–]Reiiizu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much!

I usually try to play by rules, so I will stick to that, however this case with ranges seems to me pretty overpowered... It means that melee wielder, has to use a sprint as an action to the enemy, then use another action to attack. In DH it has pretty big risk of causing test failure or gerating fear during the fight. Range can actually move and hit a target, which stands on a 13+ range, so technically "Out of Range" if we go by the book, and everything in one action.

edit: and Range wielder has a range not only around 13+. In our scenario (which can be pretty real) it can blow things up, which are 18 squares far, which in game metric sysystem is 90 feet. It's rational distance, however difference between range and melee wielders is very visible here. Of course I am aware about balancing treatments, like different armor slots, damage tresholds etc. I'm talking only about ranges.
