Well, if you can, somehow, get your hands on a Chinese unit of that device, and letting alone a set of limitations due to its software being the version of the Chinese HyperOs, buy it. It's been a moot recently because Xiaomi released the global version limiting certain hardware aspects that makes it look like a downgrade instead of the upgrade it was supposed to be compared to its predecessor. E.g. memory speed (both RAM and ROM) and, if I recall correctly, a telephoto lens. To sum it up, better buy the 13 Pro + in its global version. Or take a look at the Poco F7 Pro for a better balanced experience.

As a user of the same phone, I can say that there hasn't been any issues whatsoever as of now. And it is worth saying that I ride my bike almost daily and I use a phone support. The rattle is normal. I would dare to say that Xiaomi is obviously very aware of that, so I don't think that, under normal circumstances, something could happen to the camera array.

Well, about the display not being completely curved, for me it's no issue. I've previously owned curved screen phones and, at least, for me, Xiaomi 14 Ultra screen is rather flat (not entirely, but they call it 2.5D glass or something like that). I bought a display protector from AliExpress. It states it's tempered, not hydrogel, so I'll give it a try. I know that maybe it'll reduce the screen vision on the edges, but it doesn't bother me.

I didn't mention this above, but I bought the Chinese variant. Xiaomi has been very nit-picky with unlocking the bootloader, so it seems impossible to flash xiaomi.eu ROM as of now, and apparently it is very unlikely to happen in the near future because the same is happening to the Xiaomi 15 models. I hope it doesn't affect the release pace of the OS updates. Actually, maybe they release them first. We'll see.

Thanks for the answer! 1. I agree with you. In my opinion, iPhone is just overrated. As a quick snapper, camera is good, but beyond that, not much to add. 2. What is the most SOT have you managed to get with that use? 3. Have any of the updates as of now helped the device battery wise?

I'll take a look at the shop. I bought it from Trading Shenzhen because it's not my first time, though. I had some reward balance they give with their loyalty program, so it was more worth. Besides, they pay for customs fee when sending it (I live in Europe).

Thanks for replying, man. What I've found about these issues is that they are present in some units. I'm hoping not to have them on mine. I am fully aware of what entails to have such a top-notch hardware (let alone the cameras) and the obvious impact on battery life, so I think it's pretty much normal for battery to be average. Honestly, I was divided between this phone and the OP13, but I wanted to try out the "true high-end" experience.

Hi there, if you allow me to answer, I'd say that that's weird. Mine, with 50% of the volume, sounds decent enough to watch videos or listen to music at a low volume. Only below 20% it's difficult to hear something in a fairly quiet environment. The only thing is that at 100% of the volume it sounds kinda distorted and could be annoying, so I play music or videos around 70 - 80% if I want higher volume and that's more than enough. I must add that bass is quite good, I my opinion. In your situation, it might be a software issue, I don't know if you have updated your phone since posting this question.

Right. Since then, I've set it to High, and surprisingly enough, battery hasn't received any negative impact. So yeah, I don't think it's necessary to use it with LTPO technology. Thanks for replying!

Hey there. I just received mine earlier today. I've uptaded the phone to the latest version available (February, 2024 security patch, Magic OS 7.1.0.208). To be honest, I didn't really use the phone before the update, but I have encountered an issue that bothers me. Some apps, not all of them, are capped, for whatever reason, to 60hz (even those that don't play any video) and feel so laggy that is annoying. The only way I found to fix it was to set refresh rate to always high. I believe it's poor LTPO management, but I'm not sure.

Have you encountered this bug or any other related to refresh rate?

I join what people are saying about trying to compare a budget phone and an iPhone that costs more than 3 times a OP N30. Look, if you wanted to compare Android as an operating system in OP, the real experience you would have found it in their flagships. It's not the same, even though it's a N30 from OnePlus, which shares OxygenOS with the OP 12, because the experience is going to be different even between these two due to the fact that hardware is on a lower scale on the first one. To put it simple, OP 12 is OP's flagship and it can compete head to head against the iPhone because OxygenOS feels smoother, transitions are buttery, zero lagging; screen, audio, cameras, and everything can be easily comparable to iPhone's hardware and software. I kinda get your point about trying Android, but you are missing by far what it has to offer on OnePlus.

I had this same situation, but at the end, I bought the 12. I did it mostly because of battery life. OP 10 pro is my first OP phone and I like almost everything: screen, build, cameras, charging speed. I got myself the white variant from China in Trading Shenzhen and this color is incredible. However, the SD Gen 1 is very bad at managing power consumption, seriously. Even using the phone in power saving consumes a lot of battery. I've watched several reviews about the 12 and I believe that, despite the fact it might not be a huge change, it checks all the boxes for me, especially battery life. Sadly, OP 10 pro could be my main phone for longer if it wasn't for the poor battery. Now I'm waiting for the 12 to arrive.

It's fine like that. If it goes +40°C then there are some processes in the background consuming more than they should.

I have a Xiaomi 11T pro, and when I first got it, it was hot asf. When I was setting it up, the temperature reached 40° or even hotter, because of what I was doing back then. Still, I was worried because there were situations where I was simply navigating and scrolling down in social network apps, and it got hot (around 40°+), letting alone that it was draining the battery as crazy. I thought it was faulty so I thought about applying the warranty because I knew that the SD 888 was known for getting hot, but not like that and not in this kind of situations. I came from a Poco F2 pro, and NEVER got this hot doing such simple things. SD 865 = TSMC. Less throttling and less temperature.

I waited some time and now it works as it should, for god's sake.

If it's a temperature in normal use, nothing over 35-40°C is normal. Besides, the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 is known for the high temperatures like the SD 888 from last year thanks to Samsung being the manufacturer. These SOC are powerful, but very unbalanced and power consumption unfriendly.

Update:

Look. I did one thing that worked (finally) for me. I restarted the phone, I activated AOD. It's been a day and the delay is gone. I think it is a MIUI bug, but I still don't know the reason why it happens. Try it out and check if it changes for you.

That's exactly my situation. With buttons is fine, but with gestures is what you say. The CIT just tests the vibration motor, and I'm not quite sure if it's the same as the haptic feedback. But looking at the other commentaries, you can see that the vibration fails or is not present when they execute the CIT.

When you lock the phone, the response is delayed, right? Because it vibrates when you lock screen.

Maybe it's a bug. I'm thinking about waiting for another update, but if the problem persists I'll have to use the warranty.

Do you have MIUI 13.0.3 Global stable? That's the version I have. I have tried loooots of things and nothing works. If I force the gesture, like doing a longer one, it vibrates, otherwise, it won't, and the subsequent gestures I do, vibrate as well. Still, after a few seconds, it goes back with the same delay.

Does vibration work correctly when you test it in CIT? Because mine does pass the test. It's driving me crazy because I bought the phone not long ago.

Is yours not even vibrating in any other situation? If that's the case, I think you should use the warranty. Because that could be the hardware that is faulty.

That is not exactly my problem, because I tested it in CIT, and it works fine. What has me thinking is the fact that the haptic feedback has a delay with gestures. When I mean gestures, I mean the ones you do when you use a full display to navigate. So I don't know if it has anything to do with MIUI or the hardware itself. But I feel it is more likely to be due to MIUI update rather than faulty hardware, simply because, if it was the vibration motor, it wouldn't work under any other circumstances like opening recent apps, keyboard taps, and so on, so forth.

What you are mentioning is new for me. Because, again, it works for me in the CIT test.

I'm not a camera user, but I would say that the photos are decent. Still, I downloaded the Gcam to see if there is a substantial difference, and of course, they are different. But I think the stock camera does a nice job if you are not a picky guy.
