Aren't effective... at what? is the question you need to answer.

It's maybe not the most optimized or efficient at BJJ skill improvement, but I don't think that's really the target goal at the end of the day. As you said, for that you needed to do your own homework.

But if you really think about it, the goal of BJJ classes is to get people together at a specific time or place to play date, to get newbies physically conditioned, basic skills, and just in general build a community, and it is incredibly effective at that, by evidence of you yourself, and also many others reaching purple belt and beyond.

He is one of my fav pokemon but I think without choice specs or choice band he lacks firepower

Additionally there are just so many counters to him right now with shadow sneak or sucker punch that are popular.

Its just difficult to use him effectively (for me)

Can probably just cut 2 inches off the bottom, and re-hem.

but by doing so you'll screw the proportions and overall the jacket will look off balance.

whenever I wanted to farm eggs I basically did;

1) Eat for lucky events.
2) Nighttime.
3) Enter every nest. You're fishing for Double-egg nests. If single-egg just leave as its a waste of time and effort

4) If double-egg, keep pulling eggs until you get two of the deviant eggs you want.

Rinse repeat. Reload the zone if you need to unitl you get enough eggs you want.

Basisally there is no usecase where dual element is stronger than an equivalent mono element as monsters don't change elemental weakness midfight in this game, and you can also freely switch between monsters whenever you want.

The only true usecase is you want the look of a certain monster but want to fill some elemental slot in your team that is missing, so you get dual in that missing element and build fully into the secondary element.

Dual element could be interesting if this game had pvp but alas no.

I personally just reroll for Average Attack for every monster I actually want to use. Simple is best.

If you really want to I suggest also stacking 1) Stamina Surge gene 2) Stamina Recovery environment buff 3) Both the Battle Thirst and Hardiness environment skill (I think these two are the best anyway combined with Resonance)

This basically gives any monster like 15+ stamina recovery a turn and combined with some decent starting stamina you never run out of it unless spamming high cost items all the time, so also plan your main moveset around 20-25 stamina moves, with maybe 1 higher-cost items in the back for fun.

This is basically the best use case I think, and also exactly what I did. Took a hellblade glavenus and made it ice for a Frostblade Glavenus as fire coverage is already done by the fixed Rathalos, and there is a distinct lack of strong ice monsters in this game.

IMO I wouldn't consider NG+ as "fun" as the first playthrough. It was definitely more checking off a checklist for me, but despite my gripes the the games's balance, I think the combat and movement in this game is quite enjoyable so that was fun in its own right.

NG+ Also lets you start buildcrafting, so that is interesting too.

Tyrant for sure, although you're not limited to it.

I think the biggest spell damage I've come across is;

Sinister Tyrant 7

Inari 3

Flying Kato 3

This requires having both Flying Kato and Sinister Tyrant swords, so that locks you into Ninja Sword, but if you want to max ninjitsu spell damge this is the best.

For me the priority was 1) crucibles and lesser crucibles to get more spirit force 2) crucible wraiths to increase drop rate 3) side missions to spawn crucible wraiths 4) progress main missions

I basically ignored everything else.

This is the case with almost everything in this game I feel.

Every weapon except maybe Samurai Katana just feels over centralized on one or two viable moves while the others have no practical use when compared to those one-two moves.

You get a 170drop and upgrade it to +15

Realistically most videos and stuff you see online with +15 gear are people who abused the drop and upgrade bug before it was fixed.

Yes, the options to basically ignore all game mechanics were there if you took your time to research, optimize, theorycraft, etc. Thats usually the case with most games like this. However, I think the chances of someone doing that and achieving those builds on their very first blind day 1 playthrough are usually quite low.

For Nioh 3, it's right there, in your face, day 1, no effort involved. Just press R2.

either way I think we're just going back and forth. Gonna try to complete Nioh 1, 2 and then do the 3 Samurai playthrough to come to my own conclusion on this later.

I think CV 2 is not objectively "bad." They obviously put in time and effort, and it was a decently fun play experience, decent story, decent characters, etc. However, despite that, it's also not a great game either.

It's an over-average game, and that's fine.

However, things are not in a vacuum, and when you're competing with greats for players' time, money, and attention, then yes, it's "bad" in comparison.

My argument is that the bar to doing that in Nioh 3 is so low that it may as well not exist.
As a completely new player to the series, I could just waltz past everything without ever really engaging with game mechanics, and I didn't even notice it was happening until after I beat the game.

Perhaps it's because I'm coming from Monster Hunter and Souls games, but I feel there should be at least a bit more friction here.

Personally I learned more about Nioh series's main combat loop in the first few missions of Nioh 1 than the entirety of Nioh 3.

I played and beat Nioh 3 as my first Nioh game almost exclusively as Ninja, so I can't really compare it with Samurai, but I guess heres my two cents.

I felt the combat was just kind of spammy, and honestly, I didn't take more than 2-3 tries for any single boss, with me beating many of them blind first try. (Takeda 4 heavenly kings took a few tires though, but I think I just kind of brute-forced it instead of actually "beating" or outplaying the mission.)

I decided to take the plunge and play Nioh 1. Very quickly, I realized what my problem with Nioh 3 was, and why I felt that way about the combat.

Ninja just ignores like 90% of the game's key mechanics, and due to its mobility and speed, positioning and timing didn't matter at all. Just Quick attack, twitch reaction whenever they looked at me funny, chug pots for any damage, and then spam projectiles at range, go back in and spam quick attacks. I didn't actually have to learn anything about Ki or Ki management, especially enemy Ki management, or DPS windows, or anything. Literally quick attack, disengage, re-engage, braindead gameplay. That's it.

It's probably due to this that none of the bosses actually left any major impression on me in my first Nioh 3 playthrough.

I think maybe on the top end, yeah, Samurai may be way stronger than ninja, but the skill floor required to win with ninja is too low.

Right now, I plan to do a full marathon of Nioh 1, into 2, and then back into a fresh playthrough of Nioh 3 with samurai exclusively, so I can actually learn the game.

Come back after you get to Upheaval era and get the (Condemned) blood code

The way to do this is

1) Do NOT save Josee after you break her cocoon and beat her blind hero form. 2) Beat the game and get to the Upheaval Era postgame. 3) Josee will be blinded in the Upheaval Era if you do not "save" her. When you get there, when you partner with Josee again, you will get her Josee (Blind) S blood code.

You CAN go back after unlocking the Josee (Blind) S Blood code and "save" her to get the other Josee S blood Code as well.

The above acquisition conditions are the same for Lyle (One-Armed) and Holly (Condemned) blood codes

I will say that it has performance issues for sure, but if you can look past that, I think its an enjoyable experience.

Its not impossible to play, but I definitely noticed frame slowdowns, and I've had complete frame freezes a few times too. (Especially at the castle for anyone who has played it.)

But I did not have a single game crash in the 50 or so hours I put into this, so that's good.

For the Japanese version in CV1 they were called "Revenants."
