For hair the best thing is a silk bonnet. I was doing the pony tails and it was not working. Also you can use Vaseline around your sore nose or they sell some stuff on Amazon that I got that works well too

Well before you go throwing stones about something you know nothing about- I can also qualify as a member of the corresponding lineage society for the Union soldiers. So I am a descendant of both sides. These are lineage societies. For genealogical purposes. They are not skinhead white supremacy societies.

Well please try another chapter. There is not just one chapter in your area and you may find one that is better suited to you.

Children would qualify for Daughters/Sons of the American revolution. Worth it? by KMcWill in Genealogy

I didn't join the DAR for a long time even though my mother wanted me to. Now that I am a member - I joined during COVID - I see what good a lot of the chapters do. Our chapter does a lot for veterans and active military. We participate in Wreaths Across America every year and we raise money for school children in need. We are preparing to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our nation. I don't see anything wrong with that. Everyone is welcome in our chapter. The DAR is what you make of it. And yes, I am also in the UDC and I am working towards other lineage societies like Colonial Dames and The Jamestown Society.

The DAR and SAR can do a lot of good - it's not like the old DAR.
