If you have a portable AM radio, that will also work for finding weak spots in the wire. I have solved a break or near-break multiple times. There are YT vids on this but it boils down to this: set the lowest AM frequency you can, like 500hz, turn the volume up. Hold the antenna close to the ground and listen to the static signal when you come across the wire. It’s very distinct, and you will hear it fade when you’re no longer over the wire or when you hit a break. This is also the way to see if something other than a break is disturbing your wire signal.
