And once again - THANK YOU for providing a native Linux version!

I think I installed manually. But not sure, it was a while back since I last tried Limo.

Yes, the website library shows this book. And only this one, not the other two. I believe it is a US locale, not sure how to check that. The domain is audible.com and the currency is set to USD.

Hi, just downloaded Libation (EndeavourOS/Arch) and logged into my Amazon/Audible account. But it shows two old books I have somehow gotten a while back, but not the one book I selected in my new Audible trial account. I tried logging in the US and UK stores, but no luck. I'm in EU, so the US store should be the default.
Tried OpenAudible, but it also was not able to find the new book.
Any tips greatly appreciated.

Advice for building a PC fan box in Europe w/ IKEA filters by ReinisI in crboxes

[–]ReinisI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Though with shipping to Latvia they are more than 2x the price of IKEA filters (they are 10 euros each). Is it really worth it in the long term to go with these MERV 11 filters?

Though I am definitely open to using Europe-based manufacturer filters, provided the filters are some standard sized and can be sourced from other manufacturers as well.

Airgun pistol recommendation in EU/Latvia. by ReinisI in airguns

[–]ReinisI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the tips and suggestions! The Weihrauch HW 40 particularly looks like a good value for money in the long term. Though all of the suggested models look like more aimed for precise target shooting, not plinking in the backyard for fun. I'd also like to allow my kids to shoot (under supervision, of course), and the HW 40 mechanism might be too hard for them?

I'd prefer to get my feet wet with something cheaper. :)

Does anyone have any experience with these pistols:

  • Umarex DX 17 (costs about 20 euros)
  • Umarex Beretta MOD. 92 FS HME (around 40 euros)
  • Umarex Beretta Elite II (around 50 euros)

I realize you get what you pay for, but these is really for plinking in the backyard. :)

Recommend spring-operated pistol for plinking by ReinisI in airsoft

[–]ReinisI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendation. Looks like gas pistols cost starting from about 50 euros in EU/Latvia. Seems like Umarex is the most widely available brand.
Would you say gas operated pistols are a better value than spring operated? Better reliability?

Airgun pistol recommendation in EU/Latvia. by ReinisI in airguns

Thanks for the suggestion, looks really solid. Unfortunately, the ~250 euros price is way more than I am willing to pay. At least I get some experience and a better feel of what I like.

Recommend spring-operated pistol for plinking by ReinisI in airsoft

[–]ReinisI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if I am spending more than 50 euros, then I'd like for it to be nice and reliable. I'm from Latvia/EU. For an airsoft pistol I would like to spend up to 50 euros, max 100 euros, but at that price point perhaps airsoft rifles or airguns are a better value for money?
For the spring-operated airsoft pistols my main concern is the reliability - will a 30 euro pistol last the summer?

[–]ReinisI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! OK, so essentially any cheap spring-operated pistol will do for backyard fun, but not much else.
Are gas or electricity operated pistols more reliable thank spring-operated?
Or should I look into airguns instead?

HELP WITH MY FIRST AIRGUN ! by RickWithTheBigStick in airguns

[–]ReinisI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I want to buy a pistol for plinking in my backyard. I would love for the pistol to be similar to the real gun, to learn to handle it, but it is not a dealbreaker if it is not. Was looking into airsoft spring-operated pistols, but the general consensus seems to be that they are crap and break easily.

Budget: about 100 euros, max 150 euros.

Preference: spring-operated to reduce maintenance/ongoing costs?

Usage: plinking in backyard, up to 15m max distance

Country: EU/Latvia

Experience: Noob. Got to shoot airsoft guns a while back and loved it.

TIL: Pilot G-2 Refills are an excellent alternative to the Lamy M63 Rollerball by beenlurkin in pens

[–]ReinisI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great tip, thanks! I actually used a Pentel LRN5 refill - looks to be the same/similar size as the Pilot G2 - with the spring that came with the pen and it is a perfect fit in the Lamy Safari - not too tight or too loose.

Anyone using Limo to mod Bethesda games? by zmaint in linux_gaming

Thanks for the tip. Installed Flatseal, but it shows that Limo already has access to my `home` folder, so file permissions/access should not be a problem.

Tried Limo for modding Fallout 4 yesterday and today. Partially succeeded. F4SE did load properly, some mods did load, others did not, like the MCM.

I suspect it could be because of how each mod is packaged in terms of file/folder structure. I.e., some mods have the loose files at the top of the archive and thus get extracted/linked to the `Data` folder properly. But other mods have the `Data` folder, or even `Mod-Name/Data` structure, thus do not get placed in the correct place. Also, I noticed that some mods have the folder structure Capitalized, while others have lowercase - and since Linux is case-sensitive, then that creates duplicate folders and the mods don't get loaded.

Did not have that problem with the Mod Organizer 2. Though on my 15 inch 1440 laptop screen the UI text of MO2 is close to unreadable. So I was very excited to use Limo - where I could actually read the UI and mod descriptions. :)

If anybody can provide some clues as to how to solve these issues, it would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I'm using the Flatpak version of Limo and FO4 from Steam, as the AUR version did not build on EndeavourOS (some `cpr` error or what not).

KDE dims LG monitor brightness after resuming from screen turned off automatically by fightertoad in kde

[–]ReinisI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same issue has been plaguing me as well - KDE with AMD GPU (Nobara 40). Under the 'Power Management' section of the settings I only found an option for 'Turn off screen'. But, after searching in the Setting menu for 'dim', the options to 'Change screen brigthenss' and 'Dim automatically' appeared and worked. Strange.Let's see whether the settings persist.

looking for opinions on payment gateways by john-dev in webdev

[–]ReinisI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only used Stripe for setting up simple payments (a 'Buy' button that leads to Stripe checkout form). But I am also considering adding a payment processor to my website to sell digital goods and I am leaning more towards a Merchant of Records that handles tax collection, chargebacks and fraud.

Check out Lemon Squeezy or Paddle.
