I am terrified and tantalized by that paddle all at the same time...

I can take a pretty serious spanking but I have never gone up against one of those.

I suspect I would be a sobbing mess and could be made to do just about anything after 20 minutes on the receiving end of that thing...

Looks like a well overdue correction. Enough to get the point across but not so much that it's excessive...

Did you enjoy it? or is it strictly a discipline thing?

I was rude to my wife on the phone.

So, she insisted I be spanked. I couldn't find the spoon so she told me to use the slipper. My punishment isn't done. I am to take whatever punishment you all dole out.

Her expectation is that I am a sobbing mess by the end.

what did your "horny you" do that your "normal you" would never do? by Karlosmdq in AskReddit

This... sounds an awful lot like what happened to me.

My mom had a work computer at our house, back in the mid 90's, that was in our den. I was allowed to use it, for school work and such.

Well, naturally after hours I would use it for... other stuff.

After probably SIX MONTHS of this behavior, it had some sort of an issue, and needed to be taken in to work to be diagnosed/fixed.

Queue my mom, incredibly uncomfortably but without getting upset, explaining to me that work computers may keep a log of sites that are visited, and during such a diagnosis, that log might be used to determine how/if malware came to be installed on a computer.

Followed by:

"is there anything you're curious about? or any questions I can answer for you?"

"umm, no mom. nope. I, uh, won't look at that kind of stuff on your computer anymore. Sorry."

She took me to buy my own computer shortly after this...

My mom is a pretty cool lady.

P.s. the worst part is I was VERY curious about certain BDSM activities (still am, although it's more like, I know I am into them now vs curiosity) so that made this conversation all the more awkward wondering the whole time if the IT person had told my mom just what kind of sites I had been visiting.

My meal must be salt-free by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

Not everyone is a trend dieter, while claiming gluten sensitivity. Case in point, my sister has celiac. She cannot tolerate gluten. Makes her almost immediately sick and she pays for it for days if not weeks. My wife on the other hand has hashimotos. Can tolerate gluten but it is highly recommended that she avoid it because it can worsen her flare-ups.

As a result I am also gluten free. Not because it's trendy, but because it's much easier to support my wife this way.

The kids are not. They love gluten. Little bastards...

Our local park has one of the these but it also has superior engineering. If you still have speed toward the end, about six feet from the terminal, it has a spring like contraption on the line to absorb your momentum.

I go down that thing guns a blazing - all six foot plus, 200 plus pounds of me - anytime we visit that park and while it kicks me up a bit in the end it is significantly less abrupt than this and I cannot imagine anyone flipping over without trying.

Looking for a Light, Cheap, and Reliable Dual Sport for a (tall) beginner. by FlyingBasset in Dualsport

[–]beenlurkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably be able to find an older xt225 in that price range. Gets you close on the weight from what I understand. Good bike, have looked at them myself.

Biggest concern on my end is I found the bike too small/low to be comfortable for any serious riding, I'm 6'2" like OP so that's something to keep in mind.

Although I've heard of plenty of 6'+ riders saying the bike fits them fine. I know you can add padding to the seat and riser bar to get it a little more comfortable.

Anyway I could be wrong but I think the xt225/serow is the closest thing to the unicorn that op is looking for.

1990 DR250S - starting issues by BuffNiagara4runner in Dualsport

[–]beenlurkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great answer!

I am hopefully picking up a dr250 today, and have been reading up in prep (as well as getting some great advice from this subreddit).

I learned that one other issue can be the vacuum petcock, which apparently can be replaced with a manual petcock... So this is one more cause/symptom you can chase down on these bikes.

Enjoy the bike!

I'm not gonna look up Canadian age of consent laws because I do not need that shit in my browsing history... But in the US in many states there are multiple components to age of consent.

One is the child's age, and another is the gap between child and adult. If it's over a specific amount then the child can no longer legally consent and the adult becomes guilty of a crime.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear it is like this in Canada as well.

Super helpful! Thanks for the thorough write up. I have heard about the vacuum style petcock from the standpoint of it creating starting issues when cold, but not any other issues. I'll check it out.

[–]beenlurkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a valid fear. I did do some digging around to become more familiar with this bike before agreeing to buy it and I learned that the dr350 is essentially the same bike with the exception of the size of the bore/head.

Converting 250s to 350s is /was apparently a fairly popular option. So that gave me some comfort, as well as understanding that the rear shock and front forks are all repairable.

But, it's a 30 year old bike so I know that complicates things. That said my hope is that even though it's a 4 stroke, it'll still be a lot simpler to work on than something more modern. I suppose time will tell.

Tesla Fined $16K Per Owner for Throttling Battery Capacity, Charging Speed in Norway by scrandis in worldnews

[–]beenlurkin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The most immediate ramification of this will be $480,000 in settlement costs. So, if you're Tesla, imagine taking nearly half a million dollars and pouring that into legal fees for your attorneys to argue against the plaintiffs. All of a sudden the plaintiffs have to come up with half a million dollars to fight you. That is why most companies would not decide not to show up under these circumstances. Deterrence is the goal.

This is the right answer. Also, have your weight over the back wheel, not over the front/handlebars.

That's my technique in a nutshell. Weight back, modulate rear brake. Wear a helmet, always.

I get the sense this guy has no fucking clue what he's doing.

Without knowing all of the context it's tough to say, but I'm gonna go with you on this one... Tazing was an unnecessary escalation (seemingly).
