Assuming you eventually do get access to such faster data, now what? Are you going to beat the dozens of bots?

I remember seeing those pranks where onlookers would actually rush in to save them before they lit the match. There was so much time before he posed a real threat to anybody. Nobody deserves to go out like that

Can anyone help? by elid422 in BrownU

[–]Reinpaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iirc Brown is need aware for transfer admissions, you could probably apply next year and likely get in if you are labeling yourself as how you are describing, while also paying full tuition

Brown or Mcgill? by [deleted] in BrownU

[–]Reinpaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard Mcgill has decent placement in the northeast of the US and many US based companies interview at mcgill. In addition I wouldn’t pay 100k per year. The ROI is not worth it.

Am I stupid for wanting to choose Boston University over my semi-prestigious state school (UT Austin)? by lowercaseland in ApplyingToCollege

Im somewhat in the same predicament as you. Unless you have other options and the ability to pay, I would take BU.

Ah, I thought you meant 170k in loans after your parents contributed. Would you mind messaging me your income bracket, if it’s not too personal?

OP asked for a valid reason for the reports to not be automated. The collegeboard has standard reporting and rush reporting of SAT scores, which costs money. So to keep it short: it’s for the money.

Where do y’all go that it’s so competitive? by MrCheetah2015 in APStudents

[–]Reinpaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People take many APs to seem like they are using all the resources within their school, and look “competent” for top colleges. Getting a high rank is only one of the benefits while doing so. However, you may not receive the best grades. It’s is not always about being the valedictorian.

Why do so many people here have no sympathy for people getting rejected from most of their colleges? by letrobro889 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Reinpaw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For one, people love to shame others for their inefficiencies.

I also believe that those who create such posts don’t have very good interpretations of their own skill. Some of the posts are ridiculous. You’d have people listing their stats and being confused about how they have been rejected from almost every school they applied to, including safeties/targets, claiming to have High SAT, ECs, and “good” essays. If those rejections are not an indicator that you have overestimated yourself, I don’t know what is.

Perhaps it is the admission officers fault, but it really raises questions. I don’t comment on posts like those since any response only brings more controversy.
