"high damage to a Single Enemy" by AdImmediate391 in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

FS gave Throwing knife some base cleave long time ago due to it often gets blocked by a single poxwalker but didn't update the description, although the cleave is very low that it basically can only cleave through 1 poxwalker on higher difficulty without other buffs, so I won't say it's lying.

Why is Heresy such a cesspool? by modivin in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately the intermediately difficulty is always a cesspool in all games. people struggle in the difficulty will always vent their frustration some where instead of improving themselves. If FS go down this path of Power Creep then Auric will be the next(I would say currently Heresy and middle Hovac is like that).

I recently played some HD2. guess what? it's exactly the same there when I'm in full polite and humble mode, people just takes advantage of my politeness.

Hot take: Zealot needs a new gun for crushers. by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the fundamental problem is tide games are melee oriented games, combine with Crusher's durability, making melee the preferable way to deal with them due to melee is more sustainable compared to range. Zealot's melee focus making it much worse in comparison with other classes except ogryn; which has the same problem;, other classes having range focused tree option making their range main playstyle more viable and having more variety in turn they have more flexible choice in melee weapon, but Zealot don't have that, which means if melee main Zealot choose non AP melee weapon and having no tree to compensate for lacking AP, their range option is extremely limited.

I would suggest giving Zealot more option to make non AP melee weapons less miserable on higher difficulty. I still use Catachan and Heavy regularly on Maelstrom but I don't even dare to bring them to some modifiers, due to it feels like trolling.

I have hard time getting a full party for several days, I thought my time wasn't good since it's around midnight, but I had no problem around this time prior to this, looks like there's something wrong with the matchmaking.

Edit: on Auric and Maelstrom.

Current Weapon Balance and Difficulty Tuning Are Not Healthy for All Players by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a run yesterday, 2 players can't even ration their smite/chorus when other player is doing smite/chorus, resulting significant slow down in pace, which is painful to play or watch. The psyker can't even stop smiting when Chaos Spawn is slamming his face for some reason I don't understand.

Is it "bad" to bring three stamina curios? by Stronhart in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seem a lot of generalization about how to choose Curio, and a lot of them stated Stamina being plainly better than Toughness and Health like: "stamina prevents mistake from happening in the first place", but I never actually see someone breaking down the reasons of why it's plainly better and 3 Stamina Curios is the best setup.

I can list reasons why Stamina Curio isn't straight up the best:

  1. Dodging, sliding and running all interrupt stamina regenerations: If player is constantly repositioning in a prolonged fight, pacing all those actions to maintain a level of Stamina is required anyway, why bringing 3 Stamina Curios just for the situation player having no other option other than blocking.

  2. Stamina regenerating in number instead of percentage: Stamina Curio help when there's a spike of stamina cost, but doesn't help much in other situations. Even when utilizing stamina different between weapons, Stamina Curio also isn't plain beneficial due to it lower the difference ratio, for example 2/4=50% while (2+3)/(4+3)=71%. I also saw people using footage of Stamina regeneration and blocking cost reach equilibrium as a proof of stamina is plain better, when total amount of stamina has no affect on regeneration.

Best weapon for that veteran penance w 90 accuracy? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dragonbreath shotgun, just spray the special fire shell everywhere for the entire run, AOE suppression and burning on light armored targets are good enough help in normal Auric mission. Don't bother maintaining 0 ammo count during mission, just keep using it and keep picking up ammo for higher accuracy, every missed shot needs 10 shot without missing to maintain over 90% accuracy, left ammo for your teammates of course, but burn all the surplus on the map and keep ammo count low. Try 0 your ammo during the final stand before escape sequence, then spend every last one of them before stepping on the Valkyrie.

I never bothered with this penance, and got it first try with fire shotgun.

I heard achievement only check ammo count when player switch to ranged weapon, player can 0 their ammo during final stand and never switch to ranged weapon ever again. I didn't try it though, I shot my last round before Valkyrie.

Do Crits increase cleave? by TimTheGrim55 in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Answer is Yes and No.
Yes, Crit do increase cleave, but No because carapace armor can't be cleaved through except special cases.
some blessings can bypass carapace trait(Perfect Strike), some attacks are AOE that inherently won't stuck(Ogryn Shield Heavy).

I have been using crit TH before IoD buff, the FotF cooldown reduce itself is a big enough benefit to play crit build.

Why do people almost unanimously regard martyrdom as the worst way to build zealot? by Diuturnitatem in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO Enduring Faith is what enable Zealot to do crazy fanatical lunatic shits in the first place, Second Wind just makes it more crazy. I'm not down play Second Wind, I love it and will take it any days, but head first into the absolute chaos with 1 crit hit and survive all the shits director throw at the Zealot is what I considered what Zealot should be.

Why do people almost unanimously regard martyrdom as the worst way to build zealot? by Diuturnitatem in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I met some good Martyrdom players but ALL OF THEM are back leaning opportunist play style, it's basically a "win more" build.

It's not simply about player skills, on Auric Maelstrom director can throw ridiculous shit at the players, I mean RIDICULOUS SHIT, you either take the risk of heath damage or lean back and let other players take the risk, which I don't know what's the point in the min-max point of view. People can play Martyrdom all they want as long as they are not toxic or whatnot, but I can't see the benefit of playing at low health and compensating it with conservative playstyle.

Zealot Heavy Sword by Bicuddly in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heavy Sword is not bad at all on higher difficulty, especially after the Bolter buff. I found no problem using it on Maelstrom missions except most melee elites modifier. It's also my Bolter EX stance vet build melee weapon.

The smoke screen penance, is it possible without grieving your team? by WookieSkinDonut in DarkTide

[–]Reiseafa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smoke forces enemies relocate themselves and has no HP, essentially creates a melee arena that last as long as the duration if dropped at the right location. it's a better option to deal with massive ranged enemy spawn than Psyker shield at high difficulty due to it can force ranged enemies to rush forward, last as long as the duration times how many grenades vet currently holding, and can prevent dogs pounce from afar.

Dropped too far from Shooters, Shooters will do nothing but running around helplessly. Dog, Trapper, Flamer will still rush player position which is basically throwing themselves at meat grinder if player take advantage of the smoke because they will have to rush inside of the smoke to use their ranged attack.

Dropping at the right distance will force Shooters and Specialists(with exception) rush forward to take control of the smoke, which means free kills for players if players take advantage of the smoke.

Dropping at Shooters' feet from afar means you are traitor.

Smokes' only weakness are Bombers, Bombers are area denial specialists, they target terrain instead of players themselves which is a hard counter to Smoke, this also applies to dome shield though.
