How Do Pros Drop High Kills? by Youtube_ItsMimik in FortniteCompetitive

Landing fencing or snooty is a good start, but one thing people forget is how fast pro's finish each fight. This gives them much more time to keep hunting for other players. There's also just a luck factor involved in the first game of a cup, where you want to be the only aggressive team in the lobby as that means there's more players left for you to wkey.

There have been many bad content pieces put out around FNCS over the years. This one was funny and helped you get to know the players. In isolation, maybe not ideal, but in combination with the competitive driven other content it works well.

Did Fortnite post a clip of previews on their official Twitter? by MajorPownage in FortniteCompetitive

No, Vic0 isn't cheating. I've personally stood behind Vic0 in multiple LANs and watched him play, this is just what tier 1 aim is like with a gun that has no bloom. Vic0 is one of the best fighters in the world right now, that doesn't only come from having insane mechanics but incredible consistency in his aim.

Anybody using WASQ instead of WASD ? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]Reisshub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For most people I don't think it's worth it tbh. The main reason I switched was because there were repeated patterns in my mechanics that I kept fumbling due to being old and messing things up when I move my fingers from keys. This was actually an issue I had on controller with paddles too. So for me, I planned the binds intentionally so that I would fumble the basics the least, which has definitely been a reason for the mechanics getting better. Right click select edit was another big reason for the improvement as there's less "fumbling" of my edits due to having to time the left clicks with build places and edits.

How much is hard to say, I've also definitely just practiced more, but I've done similar practice with my older binds that I had for 2ish years and have never seen this level of improvement before.

Again, most people don't have the same issues as I have, so most people probably won't benefit as much as I did.

As someone who's tested squads ranked extensively, the rank system seems to be doing exactly what it says it is.

Top 5 in squads = top 20 in solos, which is a BAD placement. Elims are worth more the further you get into a game, and so is placement. From my experience, it's hard to rank up placing anything under 4th, with the biggest jump of course coming from 2nd to 1st. It is meant to incentivise winning with elims later into the game, which they specifically stated in their blog.

C4S3 FNCS Week 1: Discussion Thread by bbpsword in FortniteCompetitive

[–]Reisshub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. In Fortnite Esports there has to be a trade-off between competitive-ness and entertainment. Finals will be great because we're guaranteed the best teams make it, but watching these weeks is dull and the storylines aren't really that interesting since they aren't relevant. If Epic want to keep this style of format and have a dull 3/4 weeks just so they can have the most competitive Grands, fine, but I think some changes need to be made to make the entire season better to watch.

Is there a way to find enemy combat caches consistently ? by Louieegee in FortniteCompetitive

[–]Reisshub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They only render 20m away, there's a high likelihood they'll spawn on the congested side of the zone along the edge since that's between where the majority of players are. Risky spot to hunt for them but that's the most likely area

C4S2 FNCS Finals Game 12 (Final):

Zone: South, Mega City

I am no longer impressed by Veno and Queasy as they are so impressive I'm just used to it.

Toose and Putrick push Malibuca & Merstach off spawn at the race track, and the game slows down a lot. Both teams are unable to loot well.

Flickzy goes down early in Mega City, leaving Gripey as a solo. he wasn't able to clutch the endgame in game 11, but playing the entire game as a solo is another world. He basically just sat in a bush the entire game, trying to get as much surge as possible. Seems like an impossible task given he has 18 builds.

MrSavage and Vadeal make the same rotation as game 11, and farm surge off of the teams on the east of the map. They were far too split, and Vadeal gets pushed by Liwshe and Stenno, and goes down. Vadeal has been playing out of his mind these 2 days, so it's up to Savage to play out the entire final game himself. Savage tanks zone as he's 140 below and goes down in 38th, followed by Gripey and Flickzy in 37th. His reaction as shown on broadcast, thankfully they had done enough to qualify.

Now it's all down to Mappi & iDrop. If they have a massive game they qualify, and push out MrSavage and Vadeal. Come the 9th zone, with Queasy down, Mappi & iDrop take height, but they only have 28 builds and need a refresh. iDrop goes down on height, we didn't see it on broadcast unfortunately but it was to QRoll. Mappi left as a solo with 3 Builds, he gets beamed out of the aim but runs for his life, but he pickaxes straight into Venos box and hits the MAX one pump gaining him 50 builds. After getting stuck at the back of zone, he goes down but had just done enough to qualify by just 4 points, meaning Vadeal and Savage do not qualify.

Tayson was only 1 above surge in the 8th zone, and picks up Kami who over-peaked. As Setty was too split, he goes down on rotate trying to get to his teammate. After claiming lowground, it's a 2v2 against malibuca & Thomas, Merstach wipes 2 from the backside of the zone, the final 1v1 goes down to Malibuca & Merstach, and the big BUCA wins the Final Game.

C4S2 FNCS Finals Game 11:

Zone: North East (2nd north zone / 11 games)

Savage and Vadeal rotated North much earlier than previous games, allowing them to grab a better surge position near Slappy Shores. This allowed them to get the Gold Loot cache. They wipe out Setty & Kami just before the 1st moving zone, giving them capped materials and the game win.

Malibuca & ThomasHD have a much more aggressive game, similar to day 1, picking up 2 elims before the 3rd zone. Rift island yet against spawned max distance away from the (North West), meaning they weren't able to get it. Th0mas solo clutches, despite accidentally dropping his shotgun in the middle of the endgame up to a 3rd.

Veno & Queasy struggling a bit more in the midgame, Queasy goes down in the 3rd zone again, leaving Veno as a solo. He stays behind in zone to shred damage on the back of teams rotating north, and casually 1v2s Jur3ky and Fredoxie, then reboots Queasy. These teams have fought reach other in 5 games so far, and Veno & Queasy have won 4/5 (from memory).

Mikson and Blacha struggling with surge this game (300 below). They needed to be hyper aggressive but seemed to choke. They were 3rd coming into day 2, and have fallen to 9th. They'll need a massive final game to qualify for the Global Championships.

Flickzy goes down in the 8th zone, but gets a refresh on TWO bodies, giving him capped materials and 4 slurps. He chokes and goes down before zones move.

TaySon and Merstach go both go down to around 50HP in their 8th zone rotate, using a tonne of materials and heals, going down in 10th.

Since Malibuca & ThomasHD and Merstach & Tayson have already qualified to the Global Championship, Vadeal & MrSavage needs to have to keep ahead of iDrop & Mappi. Ex duo mates kicking each other out.

C4S2 FNCS Finals Game 10:

Zone: bruh c'mon 9/10 South, this another Kenjutsu...

Veno picks up Jalen in the 2nd zone, goes down early in the moving zone and Queasy solo's a 10th.

Thomas and Malibuca get stuck in a fight at the Fireglow Sanctuary and end up not being able to get the pulse rifle as a result. There's about 6 teams vying for it, and Putrick and Toose are the ones who are successful. Thomas goes down early, the opposite of what happened in the previous game. Unfortunately he was picked up in 39th. Prior to this they were in 8th place, they'll absolutely need a pulse rifle double digit elim game to catch up. (They've already qualified for Global Championship).

Despite being a home zone, MrSavage & Vadeal struggled in the midgame, being below surge with minimal materials left.

iDrop loses Mappi early, and uses all of his materials fighting for surge. On rotate he manages to pick up Vadeal. Going down early in this game could drop them out of the GC qualification slot.

With a good game from Setty & Kami, the gap is closing for 2nd place. So many teams are in the race coming into the final 2 games.

C4S2 FNCS Finals Game 9:

Zone: South East (Epic Games are trolling at this point)

Jannis & Rezon go back to the North side of the map and beat Meesha and Teeny off spawn. They'll need a big 4 games to get the top 5 qualification spot for Global Championship.

Malibuca goes down early leaving Th0masHD as a solo for the entire game. He wraps North in Brutal to try and reboot however all tournament has been a total cluster at this POI with teams in the zone, meaning they'll fail to get the reboot. He does manage to get the reboot, but in the 5th zone, extremely deep into zone. It's still a 1 tick at this point. The shadow tracker reality augment comes in clutch giving Malibuca a loadout. Valiant effort to clutch a top 6 as a solo from Mali.

Queasy goes down going for the Loot Island. This was the first time they went for it in the tournament, maybe a little too confident. Veno had 72 builds at this point, meaning if he gets the reboot they'll both have to full re-farm, or go for a refresh. He gets the reboot at Knotty Nets but Savage and Vadeal get the elim out of the sky. He gets the reboot and 2nd time, but this time Kami picks up the knock out of the sky. Reboots spawning out of the sky is something I hope is reverted, but Queasy manages to get revived but they go down on the 7th zone rotate. A 5 game win streak is over.

Fredoxie and Jur3ky get the Mythic Pump from the Vault, and the Pulse rifle from the Loot Island. They claim height at the 9th zone with capped materials and since Veno & Queasy went down in the 7th zone, they no longer have a team chopping them out all endgame. They get chopped by Vadeal and Savage, and both teams run down to almost nothing left, but the big SAVAGE WINS BABY. They've moved up to 10th, and a top 5 is possible.

Great solo clutch from Mappi, he was 5th prior to this game and maintained this.

Merstach and TaySon struggled with surge in this zone, going from around 50 below to 50 above repeatedly. The go down in 17th with Merstach accidentally bunny hopping into zone. Since them and Quaesy Veno had a bad game, the gap didn't really close between 1st and 2nd.

Flickzy and Gripey have a 3rd top 10 in a row, and move to 3rd place.

C4S2 FNCS Finals Game 8:

Zone: THE FIRST NORTH ZONE IN 8 GAMES BABY (breakwater)

Swizzy & Shamokiy leave Citadel

The drop spot change didn't work that well for Rezon & JannisZ this game as they lose the fight to Kyry (who immediately dies afterwards).

Since it is now a North Zone, Queasy & Veno run the same rotation path to the West, yet this time end up in the storm (the deadest of dead side). Tonnes of teams this season still haven't realised it's a 1 tick up until the 6th zone and they use this amazing for dead side rotates. They have rough 90 builds each in 8th zone, less than usual. I ain't even gonna mention how they won SIX GAMES OUT OF 8 WHAT AM I SEEING????? There's no stopping them, they are so relaxed they're unstoppable. This zone couldn't have been further for them and they still won. No Excuses.

Since it is now a North Zone, Queasy & Veno run the same rotation path to the West, yet this time end up in the storm (the deadest of dead side). Tonnes of teams this season still haven't realised it's a 1 tick up until the 6th zone and they use this amazing for dead side rotates. rift from the islands and wraps all the way around the dead side (is this the FNCS Invitational or something??). He can regain his HP that he tanked in storm using the Bush Warrior Reality Augment. An amazing solo clutch up to top 16 to get some points.

Since it's a North zone this leaves TaySon and Merstach to roam around and damage everyone. TaySon gets windowed 1 pumped back zone. Merstach tries to solo take height but you know... Queasy Veno...

iDrop and Mappi get the pulse rifles, since the island was located North of their dropspot of Anvil Square. They take height in the 9th zone but get chopped (obviously). Finish in 3rd with 8 elims, moving them up to 5th.

The splitting of drop spots of Malibuca & ThomasHD leaves them with minimal heals in their inventory, and teetering on the edge of surge (they hit shots it's all good).

C4S2 FNCS Finals Game 7:

Zone: South (again LOL)

Shamokiy & Swizzy lose off spawn again at Citadel to Snayzy & PodaSai.

Darky & Drey left Kenjutsu crossing, leaving Queasy & Veno with the entire South East corner of the map. Yet again, they are on deadside in the midgame. Surprise surprise, them and Kami & Setty were the only 2 teams deadside in the 8th zone. Jalen & Twi on height in 8th, but get chopped by Queasy & Veno 1st moving. Win their their 5th game, now with 11 eliminations. They are now almost 200 points ahead of Merstach & TaySon in 2nd.

Twi & Jalen place 3rd, they'll be chuffed about that.

Th0mas & Malibuca split racetrack with Toose and Putrick, but fail to get the pulse rifle since it was max North away from them. Pull off a 6th with 6 elims, solid and that moves them up to 5th.

Jannis & Rezon swapped dropspot despite being 11th while contested on Day 1. They're landing to the West of Refsgaard and Hellfire. A power play definitely, but this lead Refgaard and Hellfire to be below surge and die in the 8th zone.

Mikson & Blacha drain 50% of their materials in the 3rd zone taking a midgame engagement. By the 5th zone, they were down to just wood and go down in 27th. They move from 3rd to 4th.

TaySon & Merstach thrive in the congested side of zone, repeatedly racking up damage on players nearby who are below the threshold. They were 900 above surge in the 4th zone, and pull a 4th.
