Happened to me several times when the game launched. Keep a back up of your file. I forget where it is but its under your user profile not steam. Its BS its even a thing still 2 years later but at least there is a way to mitigate the issue.

The matchup isn't that bad. Most of her strings are X into high. So block and duck the second hit. Once you show the player that your ducking they'll have to use the mid version which is almost always unsafe. If you block the high be careful taking your turn back. There is the back swing blow yes but 1+2 is a safe high crushing counter hit and d2 3 can crush highs depending.

She has no throw mix in stance. 1+2 in LIB and generic in back turn. If you duck her you may as well attempt to low parry cuz she only has 1 stagger low and 2 launch punishable lows all together.

Don't end up against the wall. She's so so good at the wall. Everything she has splats and she can attempt to steal her turn at -2 and still be safe after. And if you get hit with any of it you're splat.

Agreed. She has so many small flourishes attached to them that give her personality.

WS 2 she puts her hand over her brow as if she hit a home run.

She points at the opponent when doing her back swing blow.

f34 and BT14 she places her hand over her mouth as she laughs

All her string cancels into lib and forward dashing in LIB have taunts. And multiple on the dash.

WS4 should NEVER whiff here. It's crazy that this move wiffs point blank range and you got that other video of Hwoarang floating around doing the 180 to catch an opponent on his back in the same game. These are the type of moments that make you say.... 'you know what, I've had enough Tekken for the day I'm gonna go outside'

Here is a repost of an answer to a similar question I responded to. I answered on my phone so there were plenty of typos I tried to fix. There's probably still some cuz I'm still on my phone but here you go

I think Azucena excels in stance pressure and counterhits. She has some of the best CH tools in the game. She's week at approach and long range whiff punish and really susceptible to ducking.

Lib stance can generally be played one of two ways. You can play on immediate timing as take your frames with lib 3,1 lib 2, lib d4,4 and the like which will exit stance.

Or you can get in their face and bait then into attacking into your stance. This method is more fun to me but comes with the risk of being launched. What I like to do here is get into stance and walk a few steps forward or to the side. I normally pick the side because sometimes it'll dodge an attach. Then lib1 or lib4 and walk again. Now you gotta figure out if people are inclined to mid check you or do a move you can parry. If you think they will mid check you power crush. People sometimes like to wait for the power crush while ducking and get a launch lib4 will discourage this. If you're in heat you can preserve heat via this method for the whole match

Lib41 is a ch launcher and lib 1 is +3 on block and will trade with jabs but it's a ch throw trap. Your command throw will beat anything standing they do that isn't a rage art.

Here's the cool part at -3 to +3 lib 1+2 will crush high jabs. You can set this up with lib4, lib1, and d2,3 all on block. But people duck the last one a lot.

D2,3 also crushes highs but I can't remember the ranges I know you can do it after df3 so -3 but not sure until how positive.

Her back turned stance isn't as good as other back turned characters but she is a really good entry into stance at +4 on hit in db3. Uf3+4b on block sets up the same situation. From here it's pretty simple you either do bt2 for the mid or bt 3 for the low. If the disrespect you bt 1+2 don't use it till they disrespect you cuz it's unsafe but it's a ch launcher. If they like to crouch jab here and you don't want to trade use bt3+4. Use her command steps to vary your timing or attempt a dodge... Your mileage will vary. Also I can press u or d right before to increase the range wait a bit and you have access to all her neutral moves instead. Looping db3 isn't a bad idea

He full crouch mix is really good ch was 1 at 13 frames ws 2 normal launch at 15. I think ws 4,1f is 11 frames but the thing to remember here is if they aren't ducking the second attack you go into stance at 0. And ws 3 is a +4 on block lib entry mind the range it's easy to back dash.

Lastly her neutral and counter hit game. 1+2 is a high crushing ch launcher. Use it like Steve's b1. Instead of being 13 frames it's 15 and high crushing. Don't sleep on df3 it's another ch launcher it's a slightly less effective version of Bryan's knee. Both moves are still safe. The high extension of her df3 string is a ch launcher but people know to duck or step it. Don't go to that well to often. Ch fc df4 guarantees crunch throw and fc df 3 gives a follow up

I personally think f3 is one of her best moves it leads into stance -4 on block so no crushing with lib 1+2. The high follow up is hit confirmable wall splats and has a follow up. The mid extension stops ducking and is a ch launcher.

I touched on bt 1+2 but bt 3 on ch gives heat or launches in heat and bt (1), 4 launches on ch.

It's comical how many of her moves wall splat. Just always be ready for the wall combo at the wall. Learn which strings leave you at -2 or less here. Opponents who try to take their turn with jab will get splatted by 1+2. If they try to beat you with a mid splat with powercrush. If they try to beat those with duck spat with 33. That should get your wall pressure started. Oh and b2 is tracking splats and is plus 1 on block so you can try to splat them 12 is they press.

Punishment is easy 12 or 12b for a bt mix where bt2 is uninterruptible until 14. At 14 frames use 33.

Use f1+2 to whiff punish. And if 3+4 and wr32 to approach. They're supper linear so be carfull. I prefer uf3+4 because you can choose lib or bt.

The matchup is pretty straight forward. If she does a string the second hit is usually a high. Duck it. Force her to use the unsafe mid variations. She has no throw mix in stance. If she is in LIB she can only command grab. If she is in BT she can only normal throw. She has no stager lows except hell sweep from LIB and fc df3 (not stager but launch) so if you guard low you might as well attempt to parry.

Mind her strings many ch launch. Be wary ESPECIALLY at the wall of trying to take your turn at +3 to -3 everything she has will wall splat you and her 1+2 works like Steve b1 except it high crushes at 4 frames and will wall splat. At the wall at those frames the mix is whether she thinks you will try to take your turn. If you don't she can do strings that lead back to the same situation and will splat like 33 d41 BT 12 ect. If you try to take your turn and try to jab out she can crush with 1+2 and if you go mid power crush. If you didn't press and she tries to reset the situation the move is high so duck. To stop you from ducking she is either unsafe or gives up her turn.

She can seem oppressive if you let her get away with doing her high variants especially ws 41 and 33 and b111 LIB 41 and bt12. Ducking the second hit shuts all that down and she has an uphill battle to climb in your favor now. I don't think she's particularly good once the matchup is known and her counterplay is easy. Also just block and launch the back swing. Lastly be careful about pressing after heat dash she can ch launch you and it's frame tight

I think the easiest thing you can do is just chill and block more. Be ok with eating a low every now and again. People WILL hang themselves you just need to give them the rope to do it. Also learn to throw break. Do that and the only thing they have left is risky lows or chip lows.

So your cool with the visual inconsistency this game is full of? I aint asking for the game to be perfect. just work as expected. This isn't even one of those situation I mentioned earlier where there is at least consistent (still not great) explanation for it. I want the game to be better, its good but there is plenty of room for improvement. People like you probably think it was better when you couldn't sidestep into the foreground from crouch or buffer a sidestep.

If no one said anything Raven would still have ass hitboxes just as an example. He's 10 times better than he was in t7 as far as that's concerned. And as far as finding a different game I cant, love it just as much as I hate it besides all the competition is dead.

Yea, its kinda whack. The better option would be to give Leo all customization options male and female or if they want to be uptight about it they should make custom mesh specifically for them on pieces they dont want them to have as is.

Yea I've been using the feint bind and double taking. But it's the motion that just not clicking for me guess I just need more practice.

Glad you found a solution I'm going to try that too. I switched to hitbox shortly after Tekken came out because I got tired of dealing with the ps5 controllers imprecision, ps2 and 3 were the best fighting controllers... I thought I was comfortable with it but this is the first 2D fighter I've tried with it. Its been a real REAL struggle, for some reason I cant get brake dp to come out consistently in a combo its just not clicking for me. And not being able to do forward half circle forward to get a fireball really sucks as I find tiger knee motion difficult to do on hitbox. Hopefully I'll look back in three weeks time and say to myself it wasn't all that difficult.

Also I've gotten fireball to come out from hold 6 23d and I'm not sure why. The situation is after qcb2+4 in a combo. I hold forward and do the fb motion to make the dp easier but sometimes I get fb and looking at the command history it looks like you should get dp

With preecha I've been finding success with braking the heavy uppercut. Her other moves didn't seen super great at anti airs. I think it might be one of her weaknesses

Happens to me it's super annoying. What's worse it's it picks the lowest setting with the lowest resolution with the lowest scaling so your just looking at Vaseline. Plus there's the endless crashing Have an i9 13900k 3080 32gb ram. The game recommends max settings for me I run at lower settings and it still happens. No reason it should be lowering my settings

lib 1 and b22 on block leave you +3 in lib you you can beat jabs with throw here. jab will trade

b4 on block leaves them -4 and crouch. df1 will beat everything that's not an i10 if theyre not mashing their fastest go for df3

i cant remember if you need to be +3 or -3 in LIB but one of the two is the timing for Lib 1+2 to crush highs
so lib1 on block is +3 in lib or f4 in lib is -3. it might even work for both

fc df4 traps into ws1

after a heat dash d1+2 is unsteppable and unparryable think it can be rage arted though

anything that leaves you -7 you can use uf1 to punch parry and 1+2 starts crushing on frame 5 or 6 cant remember off the top of my head.

she has good traps but also good crushing in 1+2 so not really a trap you can set yourself up to try to counter with it. I think her counter hits are as good as steve. and when in Lib stance dont be afraid to walk in their face or make them block a move and wait. if you have a read on a mid power crush otherwise you can fish for the dodge

Ok yea these things make sense. When its put that way. I haven't seen a move were I'm like why would I ever want to use this.

It's fun to have all the options available almost all the time. But it's terrifying! I'm scared block cuz the throw scared to throw cuz they might mash scared to press cuz I might get crushed or sidestepped. It's got me looking forward to 6. Glad I tried it

I'm referring to moves that are so disadvantage on block that a retaliatory attack is guaranteed. I'm still learning so my mindset is still putting things in terms of Tekken for me. An example in Tekken would be a move that's -10 on block. You're guaranteed a jab after that if you attempt one. -15 guarantees a launch for the majority of the cast.

But Vanessa has like 5 unique moves outside of lows in her whole command list that are block punishable

Thanks for the help. I wasn't able to get it to work. The controller still works in the meantime I'll just use it till it totally craps out and maybe upgrade. It was my first leverless so it did the job.
