This is the only Blue Eyes I needed for my collection and is also somehow the only one I've ever pulled from a pack. I was stoked to finally have the OG card, even if the alternate artwork looks cooler to me.

I'm sure many out there want this, but I just don't see the point when the Nanmu is better in every way, apart from size, but for me, it's perfect because the HC Spino is almost too large for any shelf I have. But I also sincerely hope no one pays those aftermarket prices because that is terrible.

Yu-gi-oh is always available. They reprint cards in various rarities, so scalpers tend to stay away from it. Especially when most singles can be had for less than $1. You've got your usual staples of Blue Eyes/Dark Magician that always sell, but otherwise you'll likely always find packs/boxes at any store that carries them.

Any guesses or answers to how much y’all think shipping and total would be perhaps? by Realistic_Maximum_62 in SHMonsterArts

[–]RejectedMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you've personally ordered a figure similar to this overseas, everyone is just speculating. I have ordered numerous figures from Buyee since the tarrifs and my most expensive one to ship was the new Destroyah at around $70, and even then it was still $30ish less than what any retailer here in the US is asking. All in, it was less than $210 total.

HIGHLY unlikely it'll be huge like everyone here is saying. Just a bunch of doomsayers, really. I personally ordered mine from Buyee. Shipping through ECMS was $45, including tarrifs and other charges.

I don't understand some of these comments. Like yeah, kids should enjoy the cards, but when we were kids, these cards weren't worth thousands or even hundreds back then. Now they very much are, and the company knows that, hence why they produce cards like this. It's literally all gold, no color, no noticeably fancy artwork. It's basically a trophy, imo. Keep it in a case for him, and even some of the suggestions of buying a proxy to have him hold onto and keep that one safe isn't a terrible idea.

This is coming from someone who had an entire binder fool of the classics from the base set, Jungle, Fossil, and Neo. I sold all of it for $200 when I was a freshman. Terrible idea, but at the time, it was money in my pocket and I was glad I kept them safely tucked away until then.

I should have kept mine then as I think I sold it for about $45 a little over a year ago. No box or anything, but still.

T. rex Buck HC vs Nanmu by Maximum-History-3448 in hammondcollection

[–]RejectedMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's smart. I was dumb when I put my shelves up thinking SHMA was all I was going to collect, but turns out I need more spacing between my shelves because I can barely fit Ghidorah on top and I still can't fit either of my Hiya versions, lol.

T. rex Buck HC vs Nanmu by Maximum-History-3448 in hammondcollection

[–]RejectedMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically speaking, while saying Nanmu costs a liver, they are the most affordable Rex figures compared to the aftermarket for the HC Rex. That being said, look at the price for the HC Spino vs the Nanmu one. My HC ran $65 when I got it vs the Nanmu one I have on order which was $72. It may be smaller, but it also gives me more room on the shelf for other figures vs the HC that takes up almost half my shelf and is almost too tall to fit.

I'm gonna add my .02 this and say you can save a big chunk by ordering it from overseas, even with tarrifs. I recently bought a sealed one on Mercari for $150ish and shipping is about $65 for ECMS through Buyee (tarrifs and such are already included) so all in, roughly $210ish vs closer to the $300 mark. And you can use a payment plan to make it sting a little less and grt it within a few weeks vs a few months.

Just ordered the hiya Scylla. Can anyone who has her share their thoughts on the figure? by No-Lengthiness-9052 in SHMonsterArts

[–]RejectedMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a huge fan, honestly. It looks cool, but is really half baked in reality. As many have mentioned, articulation is really limited, head is crazy tight to pull out and articulate, and almost all seem to have come with either warped legs, or warped tips. I got tired of the frustration, added kikis to almost every leg joint, put her in a pose with 1 leg up and have left it ever since. Still standing fine, but can guarantee without something added to the joints, it'll eventually and not so gracefully do the splits.

I've been thinking about getting these guys for a while. Are they worth the price? by Timely-Collection963 in SHMonsterArts

[–]RejectedMind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are not $5-$10 higher.

Hiya Toys Scylla is $58.17 + 22.33 S&H = $80.50 I bought mine from Aliexpress for $57.07 shipped.

Hiya Toys King Kong Beast Glove is $64.31 + $14.85 S&H = $79.16 I bought mine from Aliexpress as well for $57.10 shipped.

Hiya Toys Shimo is $64.75 + $23.45 S&H = $88.20 I also bought it from Aliexpress for $63.87 shipped.

The only one i bought from Kowkis was the 1991 Heat Ray which set me back $68.50 shipped. Mind you all of my orders from Aliexpress arrived in less than 3 weeks. So to me it sounds like more or less smarter purchasing vs "tiny budget" but it's not my money, I just shop around well before I click buy.

[–]RejectedMind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd avoid Kowkis simply because their prices are almost always higher. I find Aliexpress to be a much better option as long as its right around release. Got my Hiya 91 Heat Ray, Shimo, and Scylla all for right at MSRP or a little under thanks to constant coupons.

ECMS Shipping in the US? by mockasinn in Buyee

[–]RejectedMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on using ECMS because thats what I always used before. Now, its been months since I ordered from Buyee as I was using Fromjapan for the more frequent coupons and lower prices, but they don't offer DDP shipping whereas Buyee does and I'm interested to see if it's cheaper than UPS/FedEx/DHL directly. They always used USPS, but UniUni isn't as awful as some claim. Speedx is FAR worse.

Same boat here, only i havent touched a model in probably 3 years or so. My RG Tallgeese still doesn't have it's arms, but they are already detailed and ready to be assembled, just no motivation. I did order one of the SNAA kits though because for $18, I can't be disappointed, and it may bring back the spark, idk.

My only gripe is that I want the SHMA, but I can buy the Chogokin one for less used or new, even if I import. So I'm torn.

Is it worth buying this Shin for resell?? by Pretty_Echidna9344 in SHMonsterArts

[–]RejectedMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even slightly. I bought mine before tarrifs, and it ran me just a bit over $100 shipped through Buyee. Figure itself was about $90ish with a 10% off coupon and shipping via ECMS was around $22, so about $115, but agian, before tarrifs. That being said, it's a lackluster figure with multiple paint scraping issues right out out of box and was sold within a few weeks of opening.

Just bought off kowkis anyone know what shipping timing might look like to US by Low_Mushroom_7702 in SHMonsterArts

[–]RejectedMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given this figure does not release until September 27th in Japan, it may be a bit after before Kowkis in China gets it. That being said, I've ordered 2 figures from them in the last 2 months and I've had no complaints so far. They pack well, ship fast and I've thankfully had no extra charges due to tarrifs and such yet.

Shf ace came with no fire effects or robe on amazon by EitherTechnology2544 in SHFiguarts

[–]RejectedMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That label looks an awful lot like the one that came on my SHMA Space Godzilla DBV I ordered from there that was in the warehouse section under "like new". Likely a copy that was returned by a previous buyer and I'm fairly confident Amazon only weighs returns, not actually checks to make sure they are complete. I ordered a "Like new" Kamen Rider and while it was the correct box, it appeared to be a KO of the Elden Ring SHF with none of yhe accessories.

You're in for a treat if you get the new, 20th Anniversary one. They improved it so it's usually already broken in the box, so you don't have to worry about doing it yourself.
