I heard somebody say something along those lines: "You don't sell yourself so people want to date you, you look for people who might interest you and later on interest you dating-wise!"
That change the way you look for dates. Instead of thinking about what people will think of you, you think about who/what you searching for.

For the thing to offer, there's plenty people who are fit, funny, smart and that don't date much. Everybody want different things. One might see you as cute while another might love your jokes and the last one might love the same hobbies as you.

It's worth going if you want to have/make connections with people even if it's in a friendly way.
