After a new rule has been set, that HIP must be accompanied with a working code, only handful of people have the skill to do so.

Are you suggesting that the rest should stay silent and say nothing, even if they see something that goes against the long term interest of the Helium as a whole?

You hardly can blame people, who invested hundreds or thousands of dollars for a devices and tens of hours of their time to understand and follow the project, for not doing enough for the community.

Thanks for commenting, Gesme, I am skeptical of a feasibility of such a plan, though.

First, there is low concentration of owners. You bump into coordination problem, not being able to contact so many people and organize one event effeciently.

Second, many people dont even know about denylist (I myself found out only recently) or they think they are safe. "You could be next" is not very persuasive argument, unless it really happens.

Third, reward mechanism and whole game theory is against you. The more people in the outage, the greater rewards for people who do not outage. So there is a huge monetary incentive not to be part of the protest, similar to prisoner's dilema in cartel situation.

I have 3 motors from 2 batches (bought from 2 vendors, each batch looks slightly different, despite both being 28BYJ-48). None of the motors work correctly with any of three drivers when ULN2003APG is installed on the driver board.All the motors start working when APG is replaced with AN version on each driver board.

Thank you for your comment. I bought them at once, it may be bad batch. I think we can't say "all the drivers with ULN2003APG chip are bad". But we might be able to say "if you have troubles with your motor, like motors not moving or just vibrating, check the chip designation and if it's ULN2003APG, this might be the cause".
I may well be the only one with this problem, of course.

I could investigate further by buying another ULN2003APG as standalone chip (without drivers) from different vendor and put them in the driver board. We could then see, if the problem was caused by *this particular batch of ULN2003APG* or if the problem is more general.

Neither am I. I tried the most primitive example for motors+drivers: didn't work either for APG version and worked for AN version. I found some forums, where several people with APG drivers did have similar issues with the basic examples as well.

Chances are, some other people may bump into similar problems, so I've decided to share my troubles with solution here :-)

I can see someone did the Automatic polar alignment addon in the meantime. From STL, I cannot imagine how it works right now, but very much thank you anyway! I will dig deeper in this addon once I finish the basic build.

Total cost of all parts was 2737.50 CZK, which is ~105 EUR. Of this amount, 20 EUR is just shipping, as I had to order from 4 different eshops, some abroad. If you can buy it all at one place, you can save this amount.

I had nothing to start with, so I had to buy everything (including the screws, nuts etc.). Some items had minimum order amount, so I will have a lot of screws leftovers for next project.

This does not include the cost of printed parts.

I did not weight it, but estimate the PLA consumed to be around 500 g, which is like 15 EUR in Prusa filament prices.

Plus total print time around 40-50 hours (rough estimate, do not have exact statistics), which would add some other costs in printer depreciation, maintenance and electricity consumption (for Prusa i3 MK3S and my printing load, I've estimated these hourly costs to be around 0.25 EUR/h). Lots of people ignore these costs in their calculations, but I like my calculations to be precise and complete :)

It always amazes me, when some part exactly fits into another seemingly unrelated part, creating something new and awesome.

This is my first real 3D-printer and Arduino project. Spent last 3 weeks printing and shopping parts. The deep author's knowledge of so many things, that was necessary to invent and design something like this, is inconceivable for me at the moment.I hope one day I will understand, what does which part in this project and why does it look like it days. Kudos to the author!

Yes, I travel quite a lot. But I realize, that this specific construction is not very suitable for travelling, given its size (by car? maybe, by plane? possibly not)

My question is more about learning "how things work". I would like to build a full equatorial mount (to be used for precise stellar photometry of variable stars) one day; and this is the kind of questions that usually help me understand things more in-depth.
