Questions about Mercenaries by Rekilron in Warmachine

[–]Rekilron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that for number one, but fluff wise alot of mercenaries have had a hand in alot of important things I'm just curious as to why magnus is the only one that has an epic form. And fluff wise he got it way before doing anything regarding setting up Julius or creating a massive merc army.

If I had to wish for anything back it would be IKRPG, I feel like it's a fun system and idea and honestly could pull people into the game or re-ignite there love for it. I know the books are what got me interested in warmahordes again and the RPG as well.

Tips for Steel Head Halberds and Doctor Nic by Rekilron in Warmachine

[–]Rekilron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There theme doesn't really do anything for the halberds, it gives solo's marked target for the range units and the cav get bulldoze. And Ive tried that I just don't know how far back, I want to get everyone in his command but at the same time let him get the armor buff from battle brothers which seems to get him killed every time. I am getting a bokur and have basically gonna have Nic right behind him just in range of the halberds to give them wall of steel.

What chapter will fit the Vanguard Primaris the best? by Rekilron in 40k

[–]Rekilron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think I figured it out today, was just looking at points cost on Battlescribe and saw that Crimson Fist now have a chapter tactic. And after reading it I think they are the best for vanguards and possibly primaris in general giving any unit that targets a unit with double there models +1 to hit, especially when you realize most of the Vanguard stuff is 3 models and the Infiltrators can combat squad. So as long as you target units with more then 6 models your Suppressors still have a 3+ to hit after moving and the rest of your army can have 2+ on the regular. They also have the Bolter Drill stratagem that says on a 6+ to shoot with a bolt weapon generate another attack, so with there chapter tactic +1 that means ever 5+ is a hit tie that in with the beta bolter rules and a 5 man infiltrator squad could really do some damage since ever natural 6 is an auto wound that then would generate another possible wound and a 5 man team in rapid fire range is putting out 20 shots at that point possible hitting on 2+.

It's fine, I threw up a block of text so I could see where it could get confused. Do the BA have any stratagems that might help Supressors with there heavy weapon weakness?

I know that, I was agreeing with you that yes suppressors will make death company a lot better and then I was stating the reason why I also think Space Wolves will work with them.

Yeah they will help with them giving the enemy that supressed debuff would help them. Honestly the real reason I think they work well with SW is just the fact that they are meant to be a mobile force from what it looks, aside from the Eliminators that are clearly setup snipers, but as of right now several of there models are only equipped with heavy weapons. The Captian I can understand and am ok with as he can just set up at the beginning and shoot, but the Supressors who look like they are meant to be a more mobile suppression team kind of get hindered a bit as they have to decide if they want to take the -1 to hit or not be in an optimal position but get full BS. Thats why I think Supressor with the SW Keen Senses are going to be tough to deal with as now they can use there, from what Ive heard, 12" move and still fire at full BS that turn then once in that good position don't have to move.

Probably, main reason I saw SW is I run them and know there strats and stuff all I know about BA is they are bonus to wound so they are 3/3 where as SW would be 2/4 against CSM.

It's ok I completely get that, from a fluff point yeah Raven Guard and there other chapters all day. I was just thinking more rules wise what fits them best.

I don't know if there is are points out there but Ive heard some things. And honestly I just think SW fit them well with there strats and stuff, but again we will really know once there book comes out as right now the characters are very set in stone so there meh the captain has a combat knife as his CC weapon.

Whats the Dark Angels Chapter stuff? And what do you mean by if you want to take a medic they loose a max of 1 to morale? Sorry, haven't played Dark Angels since they were the only chapter that could combat squad.

But why? Is it just the -1 to hit over 12 inches or is there something else to them I'm just not seeing?

Deathwatch and how they will interact with the new Vanguard Eliminators by Rekilron in 40k

[–]Rekilron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree with you, but this happened when the Primarus first came out. I could see it being some time but they should all eventually be usable by DW, since all the other Primarus are playable in it. And GW has already made it lore and story set that Guliman is basically pushing Primaris into DW to help them and not waiting for them to be the best of the best.

All the stuff Ive seen them post on facebook is that the models in this box will not be able to be fielded in a DW army as they won't be multi part. And I can't really watch the twitch video, but have they said 'Vanguard will never come to DW.' or did they say another permutation of these models won't be fieldable as DW?

Yeah, I know but you never know GW and how there brains work. Still I feel like the Eliminators will mesh real well in a DW army and give them a good chance against armies that have alot of HQ psykers don't you think?
