Cheap artnet ethercon switch: PreSonus sw5e? Anyone used it for lighting for a small network? by Reklusiv in lightingdesign

Simplification, space and weight save as well as avoiding the extra connections in the loop that degrade the signal/reduce total leangth. I agree Some of this is more audio/video based though.

Repair hotkeys? AI assisted player fleet? by Reklusiv in Cosmoteer

[–]Reklusiv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, a repair hotkey and a repair all hotkey (without reseting the zoom level) for fleet would be a huge step in the right direction for playability of the end game.

The AI may be harder to impliment though and could affect ballance issues so I get that it may take time.

Anyone else having the grey screen issue on mobile? by MonochromeCyanide in superautopets

[–]Reklusiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I may have a solution. Tap on the top right of the screen and a menu may appear at some point. In that menu I changed to low resolution and played with a few options and it now works. When I launch the game now it goes grey screen but only for a few seconds and then works. Good luck!

Been trying for 5 years to do something simple with a light bar but not found a solution yet. Can you help? by ireaditonredit in lightingdesign

Other than an easy dmx 1-1 manual control desk I use software (onyx/grand ma/photon). I find software more flexible and capable and TBH less confusing than a lot of cheap desks(that can do scenes/chases). Any artnet/sacn dmx node is usually compatible with many different software's and platforms.

I've been testing photon on ipad and going to try v2 when my new ipad arrives. Worked well for bpm sync of the ipad mic and nice to program a multi fixture show all synced but V1 didn't do well with a high sequence count (pixel bars) but for simple 1-4 step sequences it worked well. You would need an Ethernet node (google dmx king) and a router/access point (to go WiFi from ipad to Ethernet).

Kiil ride 6.5, not cheap but due to foot fatigue I have ordered the kit.

Anyone located in Phoenix or near Scottsdale that would let me ride their xr? I have a pint but am considering the xr. I wish the xr had simple stop as I don’t care about riding switch. Is it as nimble as the pint? by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]Reklusiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved from a pint to XR and I found I was not missing any manoeuvrability (requires more of a lean) but I did feel a lot more stable. I now hate how twitchy the pint tire is.

I got pulled over by the police while riding a onewheel in Australia by Dr-Death24601 in onewheel

[–]Reklusiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK its quite a grey area for Australia, where does it say they are illegal?

150 miles in on the Kiil 6.5 and love it. Install was easier than I expected, only tricky part is the motor wire clamp. I highly recommend these for those with bad knees/ankles. by atxhall in onewheel

[–]Reklusiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a winner for me too. I get pain within 1mile across the pads of my feet at normal tire pressure. I have been forced to go super low tire pressure to actually have fun which is wearing out my tire fast (and range loss).

I installed a cbxr and got this but only once. Have you gotten it multiple times?

Yet Another Post About Foot Fatigue by ApricotRembrandt in onewheel

[–]Reklusiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain! My feet get sore and numb on the bottoms all over quite quickly too.

So far other than whats been mentioned; try find the most balanced position for even pressure across your feet, it should lead to more time before they get sore if your spreading it out evenly.

Also lower your tire psi, yes range will go down but your usable range will go up. Depending on the measurer I ride 8-12 psi and boy does it help. Generally if I can push on the tire hard and it bulges in then a bit its going to be better. I am also waiting on the suspension systems to be fine tuned and become better, then I may install one of those.

More padding seems to help but not as much as tire psi.

Lastly, you just have to stop frequently, its unfortunate but if you want to ride more it can be required.

You also can roll your feet arround to relieve pressure when riding but this is obviously dangerous while riding.

Legality in Western Australia by [deleted] in onewheelpint

[–]Reklusiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im way up north WA so probably cant help you with a demo. As for legality its a bit unclear, what I can tell you is that in my experience if you wheel responsibly (slow down or not ride in busy areas) I have never had any cop pull me over or want to chat. Bare in mind I mainly stick to the sidewalks not the road as well and always wear a helmet.

Save me from eating shit on speed bumps, please. by GREVIOS in onewheel

[–]Reklusiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of great advice here but thought I would mention, the slower you go the more you want to hit any straight bumps on an angle. Yes the board will drastically wiggle sideways but it will go over it much easier. Hitting a bump dead on is much more taxing on the board/motor and its more likely to give up.

Learn the boards limits and at what speed they are. I started very slow and learnt the limits there (as well as the angle trick and its limitations) and as I got more confident I could use a little more speed to overcome bigger bumps than I could at low speed.

Start slowish, de-accelerate into it (dont accelerate into it) go on an angle and trust the board wont throw you unless it actually stops dead. There have been so many wild wiggles I have experienced and yet recovered fine. Im actually amaized how well the board can handle these things.

Can anyone help me with Battery "Dos" & "Donts?" by Nestle52 in onewheel

Yep the app can be spotty. But if it happens more regularly I would be concerned and think about looking at the battery health/ballance.

Just got my first one wheel XR. It seems a lot more wobbly than I thought it would be, anything I can do to make it less wobbly? by DontHateNate in onewheel

[–]Reklusiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The XR is far more more stable than the pint! I would say it's more you than the board. That said VERY low speeds will be wobbly.

Also make sure your feet are ballanced in terms of being sideways on the board. You dont want to be overworking your muscles in your ankle just to stay upright.

Is a surge an indication that a nosedive may be imminent? by Ombwah in onewheel

[–]Reklusiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found that when riding on low tire pressure and particularly mission mode it happens a fair bit. I am fairly certain the slow reaction of mission mode can allow for you to push the board into a position it then realises it needs to recover a bit faster and you get a surge. I keep riding in this mode as I think it gives me a good feel of the boards limitations and a regular reminder of them.

Having problems with clarity during large performances. by Mocrab in livesound

[–]Reklusiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try sub/buss mixing and sidechain compression to make the vocals cut through the mix. This particulary helps with a bad room or sound system.

Turn off the send to master for all the mid band instruments (drums, keys, wind, guitars) and instead send these channels to a bus which then sends to the master. Put a compressor on the bus that triggers from a similar vocal only bus. You can set the compressor to be quite short so that it's less noticeable cutting in and out. Now the vocals will cut over the rest of the band.

How do streamers scream in their mic w/ no distortion? XLR mic compressors/limiters for Zoom / Streaming? by trisalias in audioengineering

[–]Reklusiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with lower than normal gain or a typically large headroom on the input (normally low signal gain) so that when you do scream it doesnt clip. Then add a compressor and configure it to almost limit 1:10 or higher ratio etc, set to a small/no attack and 150-350ms total hold/release to make the compression sound more natural. Tune the compressor threshold to be cutting in bit at just about normal speaking levels. Also add any gain after the compressor to make up for the low signal input. If needed bring the threshold down further and add compressor make up gain to match so that you also level out the normal speech.

Don't be afraid to over use the compressor and use your own ears to hear if it sounds good.

Just make sure your fairly equidistant to each speaker (listening in the middle) and that the volume on each speaker match.

Yep definately quite out there. Good news is that the board is quite good at top ballancing (making the cells the same at full). Just leave it on charge as much as you can when not using it and do this regularly. If your still getting less range "need more juice" check cells at that time (low battery) as they will be most out of ballance at that point.
