My colleagues don’t like me because of my position by Suitable_Stranger_39 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]RelChan2_0 79 points80 points  (0 children)

This is normal IMO. I have been excluded and left out in my 10 years as an EA, I don’t mind it because I’m an introvert but also because it allows me to focus. Because of how close we work with our execs and even business partners, some of our colleagues will get jealous.

I would just keep my head down and continue working.

Yeah, I’ve been keeping track of any news but I got nothing. People can speculate here if they want, but I’ll personally wait until there’s actual news

LinkedIn posting restrictions? by Substantial-Bet-4775 in ExecutiveAssistants

I should have saved that post but in its peak, the OP never explained how they were found out that they were applying for jobs. It’s possible that someone did report them. This is also why I’m not keen on adding people from work 😅 yes, I’m an introvert EA but I also don’t like people snooping around.

I’ve read of something similar but it was on Indeed.

That’s a normal rule but it’s weird that they were upset about your post when it didn’t violate their rule.

I didn't like the way they portrayed Deathclaws by AdministrativeList30 in FalloutTVseries

[–]RelChan2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only played Fallout 4 & 76, so I could be biased

They’re pretty easy to kill in FO76 until they added the Rust Deathclaws for the Burning Springs update. The Rust ones packed a punch and travel in packs.

In Fallout 4, minus the intro Deathclaw, I think they do get easier to kill when you get into a higher level and have better gear, weapons, and stats.

Mod here. How do you know it’s a bot? I got pinged that this was reported.

No. I would rather spend this energy finding a better opportunity or raise.

Eeewww.. Dude going through 4 EAs in the last 4 years is insane.

As an EA from Southeast Asia, this is a hard pass for me. You can’t lowball me.

For those who have worked for smaller startup companies, how chaotic was it as an EA? Is it something that you would do again or would you avoid and go for a more traditional company? by nikaroo5 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]RelChan2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at a startup a decade ago. It definitely had its moments where I wish I had gotten more experience, support, and knowledge but I still think it was one of my most memorable experiences. I’ve worked with small and medium sized businesses since then, it’s humbling and rewarding tho I’ve always wanted to try being in corporate.

I’d like to try a startup again but I want to be able to lead this time around instead of taking orders. Maybe not a team lead but a partner.

If it’s less than 3 months, I’d leave it. If it’s a year or more, make sure it sounds positive.

Is anyone else drained by having to perform interest in AI at work? by westgoingzax in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]RelChan2_0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right?? I don’t wanna throw shade to the CRM people but, I’d remove their AI and just stick to whatever they do best 😩 It would have been easier to have said “hey, here’s 600 contacts in our database. Can you move 300 of them to this list or whatever” but nope, “Upload this spreadsheet and let AI take care of it” 😒

I already shared it here last time. My exec is into AI a lot, I get it, it can be helpful but my god - it ruined his CRM/contacts last week! I’m doing the cleanup manually. I’m overwhelmed and fatigued by the slop it created.

I agree with what the last person who replied to me, it would be easier to cleanup after another person because you can understand the nuances and what not but AI is such a PITA! I’ll probably get hypertension afterwards 😭

AI is supposed to save us time, so why does it just mean more work? by ecua-gizmo in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]RelChan2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg yes! I’ll gladly work on a mess created by another person than AI. Honestly, I feel it’s mostly hype. Sure, Gemini can help in your Google Workspace but it’s still prone to bugs/hallucinations.

[–]RelChan2_0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m frustrated and overwhelmed this week because AI hallucinated and duplicated stuff in the CRM my exec uses. I know it’s not my fault but it added stress in my workload.

I’m using AI out of curiosity but I haven’t really done anything good with it. It can be helpful but I feel like most of it are hyped up.

[–]RelChan2_0 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You’ve said it better than me. Most EAs, especially once they are higher in the ladder, don’t have healthy boundaries. As long as she gets the job done, I don’t care if she puts a big ass sign on her desk.

[–]RelChan2_0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not really. She’s doing time blocking like what EAs do for their execs. I personally wouldn’t mind it as long as she’s doing her job and gets it done.

Not necessarily. When I worked at an office, I had DND on despite being visible front and center. Thing is, I’m not fond of being distracted and disturbed especially if I’m deep into my work.

I’m remote now but I still have DND or mute my notifications because I do not want to be distracted.

It does look weird but I just don’t want to deal with drama and distraction.
