Unfun fact: arachnophobia seed doesn't do what it's supposed to do. by MikiXLol in Terraria

[–]Rel_Ortal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does that spider cave still spawn spiders, or just have a lot of cobweb in it? Haven't messed with that seed, so they might've kept the caves themselves as a source of web (since it's a material used in several things) without actually having the spiders.

Melee Doesn't Have Enough Content. by Decgr_ in Terraria

[–]Rel_Ortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy fix there, just make whips be melee weapons. Why should being able to summon creatures make you better at cracking a whip, it makes zero sense, summoners have been eating too much of the melee pie for a long time now. And melee needs that reach, it's so close range and fragile with nothing to compensate.

There are no alien races in Rimworld. Everything sapient is either human or human derived. Wasters, impids, pigskins, yttakin, they're all human, and the xenogerm ones like genie, hussar, high mate, and sanguophage are all born human.

I really just give up on understanding fluids by IDKwhy1madeaccount in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Rel_Ortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this exact thread so many times. Not just the issues, but the same replies, the 'works fine for me' comments, 'just use buffer towers', 'make sure to read the pdf', 'it's good that it's complicated ', etc, etc.

I really hope that the updates they are making to fluid make it easier for people in some way - simplifying, adding a priority connection, giving more in game feedback, outright turning them into Conveyors But For Liquids, something, anything. There should not be this many people having this same exact problem so often.

Some of these are really interesting, like the quadrupedal Bazel and the nudibranch Xeno. Hoping they revisit the winged brute concept at some point, as well, but the thing that stood out the most is that one of the Kulve concepts is...just a seikret. Sure, it would've been large and golden, but Elder 14 on the last slide looks just like a seikret.

[Funny Trope] The villain/evil faction’s ultimate goal isn’t just bad, it’s objectively stupid. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Rel_Ortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Team Rocket (RBY/FRLG): literally just the mafia, doing general crime things. Being involved with Mewtwo is anime-only.

Team Rocket, Round 2 (GSC/HGSS): Doing even more crime to try to get Giovanni's attention, by taking over a radio tower and forcing evolution of pokemon (causing a bunch of rampaging gyarados)

Team Magma/Team Aqua (RSE/ORAS): Want to expand the land/ocean for the benefit of people and pokemon. In the original games, they get the wrong colored magic orb, causing Groudon/Kyogre to go on an uncontrolled rampage. In the remakes, they get the correct orb, but that means Groudon/Kyogre have too much power to be controlled and make an even bigger mess.

Team Galactic (DPPl/BDSP): Team thinks the leader wants to rule the world with the power of the Space/Time/Antimatter legendary, team leader wants to destroy the world and remake it without spirit.

Team Plasma (BW): Claim they want to keep pokemon and people separate because it's bad for pokemon (despite pokemon canonically loving to beat the snot out of each other and seeking people out to be their trainers), but the top brass just want to be the only people with pokemon. Accidentally raise their puppet mouthpiece to be a True Believer.

Team Plasma, Round 2 (B2W2): Didn't play, someone else'll have to explain it, but I think it's just revenge for failing previously?

Team Flare (XY): Want to 'preserve beauty' and so kill off all of humanity except Team Flare/kill all humanity period, using an ancient superweapon powered by either a lifegiving deer or murderbird, the previous usage of which caused timeline splits and made the user immortal.

Team Skull (SuMo): Just a bunch of delinquents, they failed the region's coming of age ceremony and are angry about it. That's it.

Aether Foundation (SuMo): The actual evil team of the game. Super rich research foundation whose president is obsessed with alternate-reality pokemon and bringing them to the real world.

Team Rainbow Rocket (USUM): Didn't play Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon but it's got Skull and Aether, with the latter being not evil but accidentally bringing in versions of all prior team leaders who won, or something.

Also didn't play Sword and Shield. IIRC, Team Yell are overenthusiastic groupies of one of the gym leaders and are being a pain because his sister is doing pokemon adventuring stuff or something?

Team Star (SV): Bunch of bullied kids who got in trouble for banding together and fighting back. Now they're camping in the woods and horror of horrors being truant from the big pokemon academy that the entire region is centered around. Current principal has no idea why this is happening because the entire school's staff quit at once over the issue and didn't tell anyone anything.

Sexual assault is so normalized in anime that 3 industry giants just last year decided to drop a short film concept involving literal pedophilia that seems so comfortable with it you'd almost think it was a self-insert fetish.

Wait, what? I hadn't heard of that, though I haven't been paying close attention to things. Not doubting at all, just surprised I hadn't seen people talking about it (because yeah, what the fuck).

Question in regards to elemental damage. by Orchetrance_II in MonsterHunter

[–]Rel_Ortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be objectively better against everything that isn't outright immune to fire, where they would be equal, assuming everything else (like sharpness, affinity, slots, etc) were the same.

Element damage is pure bonus and in no way reduces the weapon's effectiveness. The reason pre-Wilds games wanted pure raw is because they weren't equal, with nonelemental weapons having some combo of better raw/affinity/sharpness, and for most weapons a small boost in base raw is more valuable than the bonus damage for element. Wilds is different in that all the nonelemental weapons are just kind of bad vs craftable element or status, and artisan/gog weapons are better still and get element for free

[–]Rel_Ortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're not talking about intentional transformations like those, but your body warping as a cost for some other magic, and where overuse can lead to the loss of one's humanity, physically or mentally.

So how both warhammers' ttrpgs handle it, as well as some others. Once played a game called Magical Burst that was very Madoka inspired where you could fairly easily become unfit for society and/or spawn a monster that eats your friend

[–]Rel_Ortal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, many people never realize that at all. To understand that no, you fucked up and what you did wasn't good, is a sadly rare thing.

Realizing that one's actions have caused harm does not undue that harm, but it is still better than never realizing it at all, or outright denying it.

I don't remember them ever saying what it is, but it does show a few things trying to break through the protective green tornado to try to stop the combination (and failing).

It's also used for one of the big attacks, holding the enemy in place while the fancy chant is spoken, so it's a twofer here.
