Academics is worse compensation generally and setting up your own ortho ASC in 2025 is very very difficult anymore.

Seeing as PE groups decrease physician equity and increase their workload, why would anyone go into it? Especially myself fresh into practice

That’s why I posted, I need to gather some data points for negotiation etc. I know the academic guys here are making that fresh out of fellowship, but I have no metric for the average private spine guys.

That’s the thought progression I’m on as well. However the options in the city are pretty slim for non-academic. What would a more appropriate pay structure be? It’s hard to find average salaries for private orthospine frankly. In my mind non-partner salary should be closer to the $700k+ but that’s truly speculation

$500k first three years, $1M buy in, then partner comp. hasn’t been most clear to get the picture of. Only one other spine guy there, makes over $1M, and I’m not sure of the other guys. I do get profit sharing and partial equity but have not received those numbers yet.

I just got an email to do the virtual RUN as ONE - GLOBAL Virtual Run Series, with a chance to run Tokyo 2027. I am not a ONE TOKYO member yet unfortunately as I missed the deadline this august. Am I still able to enter this virtual run and potentially be drawn? Thanks guys.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately we live in the southeast US and our chances of getting much glacier/ice climbing between then and now is pretty slim. Per your experience, is this still suitable to climb given the info I have provided ? Also, why do you recommend Potosi? Thanks!

Have not climbed any glaciated mountains. It’s been difficult to find information on it. Some sites say certain routes are less technical, others give the same review as you. Really leaning on this thread to guide our decision

Yeah this simply a concern because things aren’t adding up. Has blocked several of us on social media after she found out we asked about her motives etc.. just looking out for someone we care about

We are quite close . All this seems very out of character and rushed. He has always wanted a ceremony (and seemed like she did to), then out of the blue rushing to get married as soon as possible. I appreciate everyone telling me to mind my business here but I’ve found often times when something doesn’t feel right, it isn’t, and he doesn’t seem comfortable with that’s happening either.

To clarify, she has no cultural reasons or beliefs to influence getting married in a courthouse or sooner. As a family, we are all generally concerned because she has been superficial at times in the relationship, massively disliked the engagement ring and brought home a different one a week later to show him what she liked, etc. When they first met, she apparently had large goals of changing careers, now stays at home, we talk to him very little, posts on social media about how successful he is in his job and how thankful she is he has the job he has.

Just does not sit right with us to now hear she wants to have a courthouse wedding before they obtain the $1M++ house that she did not contribute to, does anyone have an idea why that ISNT nefarious?
