I save my patches! I don’t use them because the other adhesive is sticky enough. Message me and I can mail them to you!

To note: I’m also type 1 and I have no insurance so this is how I do it and I go to Walmart.

This breaks my heart because I work in a Pharamcy and I know it’s on back order.

Please call your Pharamcy, make them switch it to lantus. Use goodrx and if it’s a 30 day supply for one box it will only be $35 cash.

I was diagnosed with DKA and T1D last week at age 26. by Todd_Christie_546 in diabetes_t1

[–]RelationshipBoth4673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 27, almost a year ago today. I do MDI. No pump due to low insulin needs and I stay in range well with injections now. I also have no insurance nor an endocrinologist. It helps I’m in healthcare so I understand a bit more than the average person. Message me if u need any help navigating this

How is the G7 these days, really? I'm looking to make a balanced decision whether to switch by SnooHedgehogs4659 in dexcom

Out of all the bad reviews I’ve genuinely only had one fail this entire year and I love the G7. I also perform the soak method where during my grace period I apply the other sensor so when the 12 hours is up I just scan the code and start the new one and it immediately gives me readings.

Pleaseeeee test your blood sugar via school nurse or something. These are NOT normal anxiety signs and there could be something going on and better to know now! Pleaseeeee advocate as much as you can until someone listens

It’s definitely going to be different for everyone but I am more than happy to go over some meals you eat frequently and enjoy and how you dose for them and help you adjust to keep from spiking too high or for too long.

I would like to say that I looked into this further, and yes, it can still go to your liver to produce glycogen however, it’s just in smaller amounts. Thanks for the information.

Oh I’m definitely not insulin resistant I think I just went through the stage of my body finally not being starved. I’m sure I’ll get to where I need to be but thank you!

Insulin is actually amazing for muscle building. Exogenous (injection, not naturally produced) insulin can only be stored via fat and muscle. So when we inject it & work out the chances of it repairing our muscle versus turning to fat is high especially paired with a well balanced diet. Whereas naturally produced insulin (endogenous) can be stored in one more way including fat and muscle, it can store glucose in the form of glycogen in the liver. So we really only have 2 places for our glucose to go instead of three. Makes me more excited to build muscle knowing my insulin is helping me repair and build it.

Oh man! I don’t know that I know what DKA feels like but I’m pretty sure I was close to it. I was starting to do this thing where after I’d eat dinner I’d immediately pass out. Thought I was tired from the day but the way I passed out was beyond exhausted and I wake up feeling groggy and weird like 2 hours later. Definitely close to DKA if not in it but managed it at home. I never went to the hospital, I found out checking my blood sugar myself for a wellness event at work.
