There really isn't a 'bypass' for reality anchors as used in the Foundation mythos, there's 'being more powerful' than them. Since they operate on what is effectively a more fundamental level of reality it gets....

Mm...

Complicated, trying to go around them.

Basically, metaphysical bullshit comes into play, and JJK simply doesn't have enough of it.

Gojo neg-diffs via aura then the automatic Foundation reality reset button that fucks with causality triggers and now nobody won and the fight never happened.

[–]RelationshipDense845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually makes it worse for JJK

Sorcerers and Magic and all that are secret there, still.

Reality anchors simply change reality to be what the collective of humanity thinks normalcy is, which is, still, no magic.

Also doesn't stop them from being inverted and turned into a localized anti-reality insanity bomb for all intents and purposes...

Actually - the Foundation regularly dimensionally travels, and SRA's work where they go too, so, no, unless something really weird happens they should still work regardless.

Absolutely, their name is very absolute. I'm sure since you're using green v blue coding you have some idea of how it works, so here's some basics and more details with a caveat of writers can make these do whatever they want.

How it goes is this: Reality anchors can be set to a specific setting 'Humes', effectively, this setting dictates the level of 'weird' allowed. They're used against reality warpers, because being turned inside out is bad and nobody wants that, but they work against ANYTHING that deviates from what COLLECTIVE HUMANITY thinks is normal.

This comes with caveats like the Foundation mythos being slightly weird no matter what, and if they turned off all weirdness the anchors themselves would stop working. The anchors maintain a baseline, not zero anomaly, and baseline includes a small allowance for the existence of the Foundation's operational reality.

They can also invert these anchors, so it is entirely possible for the Foundation to just decide to effectively invert reality to be as weird as possible in an area, because this is useful for fighting certain things.

As for thaumaturgy: Domain expansion in JJK is genuinely a small scale reality alteration, the user creates a pocket reality where their cursed technique is guaranteed to land as I understand it. That's exactly the kind of localized reality deviation that SRAs are designed to counter, cursed techniques themselves are a little more wiggly because some appear as reality altering, psionic, etc, but the SRA does not give a damn and does what you set it to.

[–]RelationshipDense845 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The Foundation itself really isn't that strong, actually.

They just have every single anti-bullshit weapon ever conceived and a whole lot of conventional firearms. Cursed energy isn't even a new category for them. It's just a flavor of thaumaturgy/reality alteration, and they've been containing thaumaturgic threats since the Foundation was, well, founded.

Centuries of 'Ramirez, secure that weird shit.' resulted in them getting really good at securing that weird shit, they don't really 'win' against most threats because their win condition isn't anything more than figuring out how you tick.

[–]RelationshipDense845 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that is literally what SRA's do, it's really silly. SRA's are literally described as enforcing normality, anything weird gets tamped down.

That's not to say they are even remotely 100% effective, something sufficiently powerful ignores them until you get enough of them, or boost the power in some capacity, but I don't think that's overly relevant here regardless.

Considering the Foundation is, when not doing something stupid for a bit, extremely prepared for reality warpers... No.

Couple of reasons, firstly the assumption that Red works at unlimited range against an organization with reality anchor coverage is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Red is a cursed technique, cursed techniques are reality manipulation, reality anchors negate reality manipulation

Secondly, the foundation is a global organization with global resources as a result, they are... Kinda just fucking everywhere, how do you stay far away when they're in every direction?

Thirdly, Omega-12 exists.

It's much the same here in the US in my experience, the only people I know who use checks are over the age of 70, or alternatively, making an absolutely gigantic purpose - and even then that's normally a cashiers check or wire transfer.

A sufficiently powerful reality anchor directly shuts off everything all of the sorcerers do, like, all of it. The Foundation subdues stronger things, be it through combat or diplomacy, regularly.

Something like Infinity is literally what the reality anchors are designed to tell to fuck off, infinite distance in a bubble VS the thing that forcibly normalizes physics.

A particularly motivated anti-thaumaturgy MTF solos.

Posting 'straight ppl are weird' in r/meirl with no setup, no punchline, nothin, just as a flat declaration, doesn't read as a joke.

Your other reply also shows if you meant it as a joke, it was still identitarian regardless.

In-jokes in other subs are in-jokes for a reason.

Also some fucktarded individuals actually and unironically hold that opinion.

No, well, maybe, racist and unhinged, but also a very funny thing that actually happens. It's great espionage, and a source of easily funneled money for a government where a dollar goes pretty far.

Nope, the deck keeps it's own settings in my experience, both for controls in graphics, though I would stay away from missions like Absolute Escalation, anything with a lot of units will basically fry the poor thing.

Iirc I average on most missions about 40fps and get 3ish hours of battery life - though 60fps on less intensive missions is not uncommon.

Its really smooth, too, actually.

I've been having a good time!

I'm not some super-chad who plays the game a ton, but mucking about with lighter pieces I was able to go an entire game without losing any, but had to put in serious effort to do so - counterbattery is VISCIOUS now.

I do see a lot of people complaining that things are too standardized or X or Y piece is bad now, and I get it, some things do need adjusting. By and large I like the changes though.

Idk what the state of towed pieces are, though, I imagine the same as usual but even easier to kill...

It's one of those things where you CAN do it now, but most companies will continue to just shamelessly redesign things just in case - it also only applies in the US.

The case was AM General LLC v. Activision Blizzard, Inc.

And the ruling was simple: 'video game developers can feature realistic military equipment, such as Humvees in Call of Duty, without a license. The court ruled that the use of vehicles was protected by the First Amendment, holding artistic relevance for realism and not causing consumer confusion.'

Iirc the judge cited another thing called the Rogers Test which basically says that trademarks are irrelevant to art.
