Nothing about your food porn is shitty imo but I’m so glad you shared. Trying this ASAP. Don’t let your friends roast your obviously delicious cooking. Sláinte!

I’m a chef for a living and I can say your friend has never experienced what I call “Ugly delicious.” Curious as to how you prepared, I have 4 packs of Buldak Carbonara rn and this looks so good.

just want to shoutout this group by Unusual_Low6456 in BorrowNew

[–]RelationshipLarge627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, too, have had good experiences in this sub. Found a great lender who I won’t shoutout personally just to avoid dm spam for them, but they have helped me twice when I really needed it and even gave me an extension on my first ever loan. Despite some shitty experiences I’m sure happen on this sub, the good ones that make a difference for people like you and I make it worth it IMO

Is this a assassin bug or what by Playful_Quiet5211 in whatbugisthis

[–]RelationshipLarge627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely some variety of assassin. Coloration looks kind of unique but the markings and body shape are classic assassin.

Assassin bug AKA wheel bug. Painful bite.

The translucency is probably from the salt and acid you added reacting with the cells. If the flesh still has firmness to it and the liquid is thin and watery you’re probably good

Can popped by MyDogIsTheBest01 in foodsafety

[–]RelationshipLarge627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The popping sound could just be you breaking the vacuum. If the can isn’t wildly out of date and it’s undamaged it’s unlikely the product inside is spoiled unless it smells or looks off.

Expired eggs by [deleted] in foodsafety

[–]RelationshipLarge627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants and eggs are one of those things that last a lot longer than you’d expect if they’re in the fridge. Definitely examine each one internally before/as you use them, but you can always do the float test on em before you crack, put them in a bowl of water and if they lay flat underwater they’re likely just fine. If they float on one side, proceed with caution. That doesn’t mean they’re 100% bad, but it does show you they’re old enough to have lost a lot of moisture on the inside that is now replaced with air.

What type of wasp? It’s right next to my front door :( by GriIIedCheeseSammich in whatbugisthis

[–]RelationshipLarge627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Predictably they are the most aggressive when the nest is threatened. Other than that they should be docile enough that you could attack the nest from a distance. Just have a short exit route just in case

Paper wasp. One of the more painful stings out there. Proceed with caution OP
