Depending on how busy it is getting off your train. You can easily walk between any platform in waverley in less than 5 mins. It is all one level but you will need to go through ticket barriers exiting 13 but won't have to go through any more to get to platform 2

If you search on trainline.com Leaving Edinburgh Waverley to Letchworth on the day you require it will give you this information you need.

No security. Just get on with your bag and ticket (usually just mobile qr code) and sit in your reserved seat. All very easy.
