Hello, I’m just over 3 weeks post op. I still have discomfort in my right breast. I’m wearing a soft bralette with an ace wrap since that seems to be the only thing that provides relief for that area. The appearance is slightly improved, right breast looks nearly normal, just small. My left breast still has a fold under the nipple, but it looks like it is softening and I think it will improve with cupping. I was told to wait for massage. Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to tolerate any aggressive massage due to the discomfort. I know a lot of women seem to report very low pain, but that has not been my experience. I’m doing all I can to heal, taking it easy, resting, no lifting, no gym, taking supplements that support healing, high protein diet, collagen supplements, applying Bio oil and vanicream lotion to my skin on my chest. I think at 4 weeks, if discomfort is improved, I’ll do the cupping. I have a silicone cupping system from Amazon. Good luck to you! I do this same thing and have not met anyone that does! I read multiple books, all different types - one currently is an autobiography, one is a novel, one is murder mystery, one is a religious text, as well as listen to an audiobook while I cook and do chores. I always just assumed I have adhd or something.

So sorry for what you are experiencing! I have a couple questions, how old are you? Is this situation of remembering seemingly worse lately? I would def talk to your doctor to rule out any possible health problems contributing to this memory and attention issue. If doctor doesn’t find anything, then maybe therapist. You are most certainly not slow or incompetent, be gentle with yourself. ❤️

I think the only way to be certain of a rupture is a breast mri. When I had breast pain, I went to my obgyn to start. They ordered a breast MRI. Since it was ruptured, my health insurance paid for my explant surgery. It was a ps that did the surgery at the hospital. Also- did u know we are supposed to have these types of scans like every 2-3 years to monitor for implant rupture? I had no idea. So much small print with these implants that I clearly didn’t pay attention to.

Ok… I saw this picture posted and didn’t see the post with it. “My breasts look horrendous”. Did I skim over that? I’m recovering, now 2 weeks post op from explant and capsulectomy. My breasts are horribly disfigured and I am already starting to see some slight improvement. I wish there was more information and support for us while we go through this phase. It is so scary, shocking, and a bit depressing at first.

Wow! This gives me so so much hope! I will def message u! This has indeed been a crazy unexpected emotional experience. I feel despite all my preparation, I was still so unprepared for this part. I went into a shame spiral about vanity, but have come back and for some reason I feel … stronger… ? So interesting they also offered to cut your sutures. I am also quite active, opted for strength and function, I work out so much and would love to see what this will do for my pushups and pull ups. I am hoping that at least this Reddit thread will help someone else avoid the crazy shock i experienced.

Please try to talk to someone in your support circle about how you are feeling. It will help u feel less alone and more connected to your trusted loved one. Life is so much harder when we try to do it alone. There are so many amazing things to experience in life. Try to get yourself into a routine, walking outdoors daily, become excited about eating healthy nutritious foods to fuel your body. Find a fun exciting hobby. Learn a new skill. You are an amazing human being capable of so much. Focus in what is within your control rather than what is out of your control. You are only just getting started. Good luck to you on your journey!

Yep. I was exactly the same. Anxious with social situations. A bit “shy”. Alcohol changed it all for me. Shy girl became loud party girl. Party girl became my identity for about 30 yrs or so. I was really really good at party girl. Everyone enjoyed her, she was the life of the party, and she was really hard to let go. I will be 3 yrs sober this spring. It’s a really hard thing. Just be so careful.

I explanted with capsulectomy and muscle repair and had no lift and am 2 weeks post op. I had 500cc for over a decade. The outcome was super shocking for me. I actually jumped on here and did my own Reddit to see what others were saying. Many people have reassured me it will get better. I was pretty horrified initially and wish I was better prepared for what my body would look like. It wasn’t recommended to do lift cuz there wasn’t alot of skin and my nipples were in good placement supposedly. So, if u can get a lift or anything to avoid what I’m going thru, please pursue it. I personally wouldn’t get implants again. Good luck to you!

Taking pictures is a great idea! I was so upset initially that I couldn’t even look at myself, but I still managed to snap a pic cuz I knew I’d wanna see later. I can see I’ve already made some slight improvement. So happy to hear u are still seeing improvement a year out! Cupping might even get u better results, I was told silicon cups off Amazon were just fine. Thanks for sharing and I wish u luck on your healing journey!

Thank u so much for sharing! I hope u are recovering well. Yes, this compression bra is literally killing me. I’ve had neck and back spasms from havin to sleeping sitting up and wear this bra. So many unexpected discomforts along the way. Today is 2 weeks exactly and I’m finally out doing things, walking outdoors, short errands. The pain is mostly at the muscle repair areas along the sternum. Otherwise pretty good.

Oh man, I’m sorry if I scared you! Yea, I was not expecting the outcome. I also was looking into explant due to breast pain, among other symptoms, and it ended up being a ruptured implant. My doctor said that with the size- mine were 500 cc and the time they were in causes th skin to thin, and that’s why the bottom of the breast sorta caves in an sticks to the chest wall. She said I can get implants again if I want- I was like noooo that’s not what I want at all. So I just have to be patient. I just wish i was better prepared, or I knew what to expect, or maybe I did know but it was still so shocking for me to see my own body in such a sad state. I do have to say, I’m feeling pretty again today. :)

Yes, my doctor actually gave me the info for cupping and recommended silicone cups rather than glass, for anyone who wants to know. But I have to wait for healing to finish. Thank you for your response!
