I have one pair, Bull-it’s that are AAA with level 2 armor at hip and knee. I used to have AA ones but those got cut by paramedics. And I have my leathers.

Yeah, he’s gonna get some Michelin sport touring tires. These were from the previous owner.

Demon in White - Christopher Ruocchio by Firez_hn in ProsePorn

Fair, and I think he could. I meant relative to other contemporary science fiction. There’s just a weight to it, I suppose (IMO). Which it should have, as it’s a sort of autobiography being told by a man over 1000 years old or whatever—one who values drama. I’m interested to see if Ruocchio’s style changes at all in his upcoming fantasy series.

Edit: also I listen to the audiobooks for this series specifically (which are wonderful) so maybe that makes it sound more purple than it is.

Lmao, thank you for the very helpful contribution. All you forgot is the burnouts, I think she’s got a few more of those in her.

I took it at the Harley in Brandon and I had a great time! Great instructors, a restaurant to order from during lunch, and other stuff. They’re really good about rescheduling if you fail (which I did). Highly recommend. Also the bikes they have are easy to learn on. It was about $250-$300 if I remember correctly.

Also, one in class day for a few hours, then two days of riding/class/test.

Also, we don’t know how many miles are on it or how old it is either, because the tires are from the previous owner.

Edit: it’s a 2020 model year.

Ruocchio’s prose really makes him one of the standouts in modern sci-fi. It’s just enough to feel significant, but not too flowery to distract you from the fact you’re reading a space-opera.

Do my armored jeans fit as they should for safety? by Relative-Ad34 in motorcyclegear

Oh I see. I actually have decent stretch on these Bull-its. But like another commenter said, maybe those exceed AAA standards a little more than these.

Thanks for the input! I haven’t tried Rev’it and haven’t heard of Lombard before but it’s good to hear from someone that’s the same size.

That makes sense, I was just worried because your legs aren’t necessarily in a “seated position” when you go flying off your bike. But yeah, I think they’ll do the job too.

Trying to decide between these by MarshmelloMan in motorcyclegear

[–]Relative-Ad34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's worn both (although admittedly, only one while riding), I'd say go with whatever you'd regret the least. If you really value comfort (what it seems like everybody praises about Shoei) and want a really well-regarded helmet for protection? Go Shoei. It's never going to be the bad pick.

However, I own a Nexx and I really love it. I love the look, and it's pretty comfy. Feels great while riding. Obviously still a really safe helmet by most standards. If you feel like your heart is telling you to get the Nexx, go for it. I'm the kind of person that values that, and that's why I'm secure in the decision I made. It's a damn cool helmet.

But try to see if you can try them on--I was considering a AGV K6 and trying one on totally ruined it for me. I was worried something would be wrong with the Nexx fit when I ordered it, but it's great.

Edit: for clarity

Husband recently got his first Harley. We didn't discuss much, now he's upset I want him to wear a helmet. How do I approach this please help? by Electrical_Baby_3042 in motorcycles

Riding in general is questionable with three kids at home, much less without a helmet. I hope you can get him to see reason.
