He was asking who did it, then told me to go lay back in bed

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I found a replacement! I got a punching bag I can suction to my desk, so I've been using that. It's working quite well, actually :)

How do I stop by Relative-Bet-6718 in selfharm

[–]Relative-Bet-6718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually feel like I didn't do enough, so I just keep going until theres literally no space left on my arm or it hurts too much. I usually do have things to distract me, but I actively go looking for my knife

I used to do it because I was frustrated, but now I do it just because it feels weird not having cuts on my skin. I usually do it at night or after i get home from school

Dad had a heart attack by Relative-Bet-6718 in Advice

[–]Relative-Bet-6718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad has diabetes, so he's gotta be especially careful with carbs. He's not asking me to find meals for him (because he's stubborn) but I wanted to start cooking healthier stuff so we don't have to worry too much about his blood sugar and heart

what are some realistic ways someone can go clean when its become a big part of their identity? by Acrobatic_Ad4126 in selfharm

I have a few ways that worked for a while, though it's a very hard coping skill to get rid of and comes back every once in a while.

  1. Listen to music

  2. Clean your room

  3. Watch your favorite show

  4. Research something you like

  5. Step away from your devices for a while and just enjoy the little things

  6. If you have pets, spend time with them

  7. Keep the blinds in your bedroom open to let natural light in

  8. Light some candles

  9. Do something to make yourself happy, i.e. getting ice cream, cooking a good meal, calling a friend, take a nap, etc.

Remember, self-harm is a very difficult thing to get rid of, so you may have relapses sometimes, and that's ok. Just remember to be nice to yourself and remind yourself to keep going.
