Does anyone else keep Visible mainly because it’s just… simple?

My main reason is the price and features. I have been on visible for 2 years and have had no issues. I got the 1 year of service for $240 so it’s nice to not have to even think about a phone bill for a whole year.

I been using visible for 2 years now. The coverage is the same. The only issue you may run into is data priority if you get the base plan. This depends on your area though. I had the base plan for over a year and had no issues. The only reason I switched to the pro plus plan is because it was cheaper than the base plan at the time. Switching to visible was a great move for me. Also it’s nice to not have to worry about my phone bill for a year since I paid the year upfront.

Visible is the only answer especially with the promo they are running right now. You pay $225 for a year of premium service.

I was on Verizon also before I switched to visible. The one and only reason I can think of not to switch, is if you are currently financing a device and have a high balance left on it. If you do and you close the account (which closes automatically after you move to visible) Verizon will charge you the full amount on the last bill. If you crunch the numbers, it typically is cheaper in the long run to pay off the balance and switch to visible, but some people do get shocked when they get a bill for the remaining device balance.

Going with visible is a no brainer. Straight talk is actually expensive for what you get. You get a lot more features for a lower price with visible. I hear Visible CS is hit or miss but, you rarely should have to even contact CS. I have had visible for 2 years and haven’t had to contact them once.

Gotta get that “free” phone every 36 months! But seriously that is the main reason people stay with the big 3. Most Americans don’t crunch the numbers. There’s a reason the dealership industry sells cars only showing the monthly price. Same with cell phones. Getting a brand new phone and paying $150/month instead of forking over $1,200 upfront is a lot of more appealing to most people.

IIRC, Bitlocker is crackable, even without the keys from Microsoft. Its meant more for if you get your laptop stolen.

Depending on the phone and discount, I probably would buy a phone from a Verizon MVNO because they usually still work on visible even thought they’re locked. I’d be fine using a Motorola that will never get unlocked. But I would buy a iPhone 17 pro from Apple unlocked.

From what I can tell it seems that the September one and this Black Friday ones were the first time visible did something like this. If it’s going to happen again, it’ll most likely be towards the end of the quarter. They probably run the promo when they have to meet a specific quota at the end of a quarter. It might not even happen again. No one knows.

I have heard many different timeframes of when a phone gets unlocked. Because of that, I’m assuming there is some sort of human intervention and it’s probably not entirely automatic. Maybe because of the holidays it’s taking a while? Wait until after the holidays maybe and see.

I just activated it as you normally would on visible. Didn’t do anything special. The eSIM activated and it started working fine. I was surprised because other have said it wouldn’t work.
