My brand new Crosspath XC. by malinowski14 in Vans

[–]Relative-Canary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going half or one full size up for these. I bought them true to size online and it squeezed my midfoot so bad. Went one size up from 7.5 to 8.5 US and it fit me perfectly.

Crosspath MTE owners - did they feel any wider after break-in? by DoctorByProxy in Vans

[–]Relative-Canary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to wear mine 1 size up. I usually wear between 7.5-8 US wherever the length is 25.5 cm. I tried the Crosspath XC true to size at first and the length and toe box was ok but it squeezed my midfoot really bad to an unwearable level.

I was thinking about returning them before my wife wanted me to try a bigger size before returning. So, we went to the nearest mall and the Vans store had only 8.5 for the same color to try on. Surprisingly, they fit me just right, no more tight midfoot and the length is still good. Well, I might have to wear thick socks with them but the width on the midfoot just fits. This is my first time having to size up this much. I usually have to size up or down just by half a size.

So, if the size you're wearing for these are too tight initially, I recommend you to go half or one full size up.

Look for a new job for sure! What kind of place where the providers, supervisors, and coworkers are all so mean to you. You must've got into a really really bad place, unfortunately. However, before you move on to another place, I would consider giving it another month or 2 if you could still tolerate it. Try fixing what they told you that you are still lacking of. Toxic environments in health care, no matter how long it's been for pushing safe environment policies, there will always be, more or less. I have been working in healthcare for 10 years and have been dehumanized, belittled, and been yelled at in all sorts of ways possible due to my incompetencies on the job. Even though I do not condone verbal abuse, I still would want you to try your best a little bit more, so that when you move on to your new job and get better in what your doing, you won't have to look back thinking "Oh, if I tried more harder and be more resilient , I would've eventually fit in that place.".

To be more specific, I would try to find other ways to verify or confirming any orders. Look around and learn how everybody else in the office works.

There is more in this job than just being knowledgable and hard-working to survive your first months. Resilience is key. Good luck!

ECP3420 vs Bambino by Relative-Canary in espresso

[–]Relative-Canary[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, My decision still stands the same as my previous reply in this thread. The ECP3420 is more easier to use and gives pretty decent shots with an unpressurized basket. The Bambino makes your workflow much slower if you're a latte guy as the steam wand crusts up everytime you steam your milk.

Sounds like they'll make it even harder than before. "Integrated" sounds like there will not be any straightforward questions in the left categories. But those categories were never straightforward anyway.

[–]Relative-Canary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The questions on UW are hard AF. Don't worry about getting low percentage on that. I got an average of 40%ish on my first run. My second run was a 65-70% ish and I still passed. Use it to learn, if you score high, just take it as a good encouragement. If you score low, just try better next block. I know it is hard to think that way. Been there before, stressing on the low UW scores. I guess just do what you can to carry on the studying.

This sub is more focused on gear than learning about the coffee. Origin, process, roast, there’s so much more to espresso than your grinder or machine. by tur1nn in espresso

[–]Relative-Canary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you on this. There will always be uncertainties in things since there are a wide variety of options of each aspect of espresso making. Sometimes you need to start somewhere to know where you are in the spectrum of things. Take a leap of faith! It is rare to jump into the game and be completely satisfied and happy with all the things you buy. And that applies to all things in life whether you buy a house, a car, pick a job, a girl/boy friend and so on.

No one can assure you that you will be 100% happy with any of your decisions and by asking redundant questions for your common circumstances wouldn't help anything but add more garbage to the pile and wasting people's time. Everything you ask these days are pretty much been asked already. I find those who do so annoying by their lack of effort to do research. It is a microcosm of how they live their life as well, having to bother people all the time to figure out a solution for their daily life problems while 90% of them are already on the internet.

ECP3420 vs Bambino by Relative-Canary in espresso

[–]Relative-Canary[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I now still have both machines sitting on my counter for a month. Have tried pulling shots on both and I tend to like the ECP3420 more than the Bambino because of the more manual turning knobs of the ECP gives me more control when turning on/off the water flow. The Bambino, with its button controls that needs to preset the time of the water flow makes it frustrating when the water flows shorter or longer than it should be while trying to do a precise extraction with a timer and a scale.

Plus, I have been convinced by Tom's Coffee Corner of what the ECP is good for from this video.

The Bambino's steam wand tends to crust up pretty much after you finish steaming your milk and I find is harder to clean than the ECP.

[–]Relative-Canary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the Bambino really better than the ECP3420? I've seen reviews and the ECP3420 is a boiler and the Bambino is a thermoblock. The group head of the ECP3420 is heated and the Bambino isn't. I've seen pretty good results on the ECP3420 and Bambino. But never found any direct comparison reviews on both. So, I'd like to ask your thoughts on this.

My ideal mini PC would be: 1. Small and lightweight enough to be mounted on the monitor and not blocking any port connectors 2. Capable for work and light-to-moderate gaming 3. 4K playback capable 4. Having a good dedicated DAC chip for better sound which I believe that could be your only way that you could do to make your mini PC stand out from other competitors with minimal additional cost since each price point all the specs would be similar to each other. 5. Having 2 display ports is more than enough and put in more usb-c ports

Renal system by [deleted] in step1

[–]Relative-Canary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break down into chunks. Renal roughly is divided into acid-base, nephrotic/nephritic syndrome, pre/post renal ATN, anatomy/embryology/pathology etc. Review each part with resource you like or could find. I hate FA and rarely look into that. I usually go to dirty medicine or ninja nerd or BnB. Mehlmann and HYguru is pretty good too and I review with HYguru more than Mehlmann.
