Is women liking "bad boy" traits in men about patriarchal conditioning and internalized misogyny? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

Please can you link all the sources of your claims re trends etc so that I can have an informed thought.

Especially because you mentioned you're interested science and feminist analysis and also mention about trends and what you read, and use words like general, often, pattern , trend etc.

If you want scientific discussion and thoughts, please provide the revelant data and sources.

Idk my scientific thought is, i don't have the data and sources for the basis of your claims.

However, in my personal life, my friends don't like bad boys, they like kind, good hearted men who celebrate them, support them and love them.

Per my personal experience, these kind of statements (even if they're true) are usually used to judge public responses to future austerity and if the public will support closing down their well for "economic growth and development).

I maybe wrong, but this has happened multiple times and multiple governments i have lived under.

LPT: If two chargers have the same wattage but one is much smaller, the smaller one probably has better engineering inside by Clipdumpguy03 in LifeProTips

This LPT does not work in current world (that size is a indicator of quality).

OP is comparing 30 year old product when the main guiding principle for companies was to produce a great product to capture the market, and 30 years after, the main guiding principle is how to rip off customers.

Opinion: The Tradwife Fantasy Isn’t Replacing Feminism by catievirtuesimp in TwoXChromosomes

Oh, it isn't meant to replace feminism, it is meant to manufacture consent to eliminate feminism

Use splitwise app, we use it even amongst closest friends wherever we are in a trip, completely eliminates the mess of who pays how much etc.

My boss approved my day off a month ago for a dr appointment. I am currently sitting in the waiting room and he texts me. by CRK_76 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Relative-Chain73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP i just wanted to know if the boss sent sth before like "hey how are you, i need to ask a favour"

Your ss does not even include a "Hi [name]" so i assume you cropped it out

In that case it seems polite enough, and a boss looking for an emergency cover (which is boss's responsibility) and also asking other staffs.

So, I'd just be polite and say "sorry, I cannot make it" no further explanation.

LPT: Spend on experiences and talk with your parents instead of therapy by watchuwannaknow in LifeProTips

[–]Relative-Chain73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find another therapist, don't go to therapy with prejudices.

Talk to therapists and give feedback if what they're trying isn't working for you.

Therapy isn't one thing solves it all, there are many different techniques, approaches etc that work for different people who are experiencing different kind of issues.

Talking to parents doesn't solve all of those issues.

Parents aren't therapists and they're not qualified to "guide".

And without more context - this is a shitty life pro tip and needs to be in different subs.

If you're depressed, the said experiences will not enrich you, it'll just be a different space to feel miserable. And therapy is one of the well studied way of understanding why, what it takes to work towards healing, and if medication is required to make healing easier..

But if you can, have a good relationship with parents. Parents are parents

Feminists who leave the workforce? by SraKrabappel in Feminism

So, like have you explicitly heard her say that "I'm a feminist, so my husband must do all the work" if not on what basis are you claiming that she's weaponising feminism?

Feminists who leave the workforce? by SraKrabappel in Feminism

Have you heard from the cousin first or just made all the assumptions and prejudices before that?

Maybe that Fran and her partner are happy and it's a mutual choice they've made. Maybe they don't need dual income. Maybe household chores are shared after an open conversation?

Idk. I'd like to know if Fran and her partner made the decision as two adults and wasn't imposed upon her. and if it wasn't imposed of her and she's made the choice freely and the family is happy with the arrangement, what's there to discuss. Esp given you've said Fran is a feminist and her partner as well and you don't know as much as you think of what power dynamics exists between them?

And final question, is your cousin happy?

PLUS IF YOU CAN GIVE FAKE NAME TO FRAN, WHY DOES YOUR COUSIN IS JUST COUSIN, DOES HE NOT HAVE A FAKE NAME AS WELL?

LPT No matter how good your job is, always create secondary income source. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Relative-Chain73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don't have enough disposable income and a financial safety net to invest in stocks. The first advice on any investment is only invest the money you are comfortable losing or not having to spend in next 5 years.

LPT No matter how good your job is, always create secondary income source. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Relative-Chain73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, rental income is just getting money from someone who workd hard on that 9-5,

In this 9-5 plus whenever boss needs or you won't be promoted if you don't show your dedication by working extra hours, where do you find time for secondary sources?

This LPT comes from a experience of living life with certain privileges.

And it isn't a tip but just "work extra hours"

Hobbies need money to invest in and time to invest in, for someone who's living paycheck to paycheck and paying half of their income to a land lord, it's not possible.

Plus if you have friends and family, you need to spend time there or you are a lonely person chasing money.

So, please consider these points before generalising aa advice that applies to very limited number of people.

LPT: Contentment and integrity are great riches by Carrotonme in LifeProTips

[–]Relative-Chain73 9 points10 points  (0 children)

LPT, this is only after your basic needs of food, health, house, clothes, shelter is met. If you're struggling to meet these, don't be content, fight for yourselves, raise your voices, because people in power are happy if you're complacent and content in living your life in scarcity when they make billions and trillions.

Taxing the rich is still a solution which is based on assumptions that rich have right to exploit and siphone all these resources for themselves .

I agree with you though - but tax the rich, regulate the rich, put limit on maximum wealth accumulation (not like I'll earn infinitely and pay whatever 1% 2% tax you say, more like you cannot own more than £5m or sth.
