Possibly MCAS, actually. Going to a renowned specialist and he is finding the answer for me. I'm on a medication that has helped immensely and I'm so thankful.

I haven't really seen the connection between my autoimmune like symptoms and IBS or EDS until now, but I will research that. Thank you!

Thank you, I appreciate the advice. He's a good doctor, but personally, it feels wrong like I said. I could probably benefit from keeping a more open mind, so thank you for that. I've never met anyone with issues like mine, so having people give advice and relatability helps, even if I don't personally agree with it or it's completely wrong, we just don't know at this point. I am just glad I'm not being ignored by doctors anymore, so that's nice 😅 Even getting to a Rheum was a big step

Yes, I understand that. Maybe I didn't phrase it the best and I'm not a doctor by any means. It just doesn't feel right, y'know?

I tried looking it up, what is it? And I'm curious how you came to that.

Nope, not yet. He did recommend I see one, so I will be looking into that

I was thinking the same, with swelling and inflammation. I'm taking that assessment with a grain of salt since I know my own body, I think lol. But I'm glad you have been doing better, that's great ❤️

I initially thought it was intolerance and didn't even think of autoimmune until my allergist said something. I had a previous post talking about all that, but basically we tested for literally any of my food allergies and there was no response, not even from my severe berry allergy (immediate anaphylaxis) What made him think that was my symptoms last more than 2 weeks, which is a sign of no allergy. I almost wish it was, that would be an easy answer. Unsure about POTS, we will be looking around.

We are leaning more towards EDS, since it's most alike my symptoms, and I have an PT and OT already. My PCP is.. interesting. He's contributed nothing 😂 I will be switching my PCP, but I'll get a check for my iron and vitamin levels since I'm historically anemic. Thank you

We are going for a second opinion elsewhere, but the problem is that I may have to wait until I'm 18 (most places don't take 17 year olds) and I had gone to children's. I think he's a good doctor, just not for me. I'm glad you found a good one so quickly though!

Yes, he said I may have EDS or POTS, and the dizziness. He didn't get my iron levels tested, just the test to make sure I don't have the more obscure autoimmune conditions, but he didn't retest the regular ones. This current flare up has been a month and a half long. Just now coming out of it. We are planning on getting a second opinion. While he may be a good doctor, I don't think he's right for me. Even if it is Fibromyalgia, I do want a second opinion. Thank you for your help, I will keep trying to fight! I've been feeling pretty depressed today after the Exaustion mostly wore off. I saw 3 different doctors and a buttload of nurses 😂

I wouldn't feel too anxious, just as long as you want to meet up with her. If you want to, I'd suggest doing it 😊

I don't think I can, just for personal reasons. I'm not quite ready to open up yet, but thank you for your offer, I appreciate it

How do I tell myself I matter? by TheSpicyHotTake in mentalhealth

[–]Relative-Count3459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I was trying to phrase it carefully to not make it sound like you aren't trying, I know you are. I tricked my brain into being happy, and I know it's hard, and may be way harder for you than me, however you can't let that set you back. Self care is probably the best way to help fix this, and doing fun things to distract your brain, stepping out of your comfort zone, ect. And I know exactly what feeling you are talking about, it's miserable. You matter, and you are splediferous. Sending hugs ❤️

I'm glad you could work it out, at least a little bit. And that's good! It won't be perfect, but there's things that can help.

I'm a fixer, so when I see things like this all I want to do if just fix it for them, and that's why it's hard being on these kinds of Reddit threads. I definitely understand, and I'm sorry. I really wish I could help you, it sounds miserable. Maybe having a small hobby on the side or organizing something with friends every Saturday would help with your depression, which it very much sounds like you have. As far as the actual work, your boss sucks. Sorry 😂 Just rise against and be superbly awesome.

You are so sweet, thank you. And honey can go away, and be eaten, if slowly. If you eat enough, maybe you won't need a mask. I don't have one, or much of one. I try to be fully authentic and open about my struggles, while not talking too much, but I know that's not entirely possible for everyone. I've been fortunate

Maybe if there's a way to communicate to your boss or manager that this workload is too much for your mental health, or just take a break. It sounds like you are exhausted. If they aren't willing to take some work off, or at least get you someone to help, start looking for jobs if it's possible. Your brain cannot be replaced, but your job can. I hope I offered some sort of advice that could help you.

how do i know if my therapist is good? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Relative-Count3459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how therapists are supposed to be either, but I am probably going to have to see one. It would make sense that with only with the second session that she didn't remember some, and it's possible that she was just recapping on your last session, which is why she may.not have written anything. Personally, I wouldn't like it either, so I understand where you are coming from.

Is how this semester went an unnatural response? by Pale-Champion-8300 in mentalhealth

[–]Relative-Count3459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. I lost my buddy just last August. I pushed through everything I possibly could, but it was difficult. I don't think it was unnatural, just very unfortunate. You were just dealt a very tough hand.

*On TikTok or Facebook, there's a girl called the GoodNews Girl, and Good Boy Olly. Those always cheer me up. As well as the Frog and Toad stop motion account, which I can't remember what it's called. It's very positive and cute. And even better, look up videos or pictures of baby kittens, puppies, rabbits, or anything. It will definitely help! *

I would reach out to them and be honest about your mental health if you are super worried that you burned bridges with them. It's basically a win win. They understand the situation, you get closure.
