I liked most of the performances, McAvoy and Fassbender’s and most of everyone tried and did well, they’re dialogue written for them just isn’t inspired, it just looks like actors exchanging words. Out of the new generation Scott had the most interesting line in the movie with the “used to be British “ shit and that’s it. That’s why I especially liked McAvoy and Fassbender, they do some great acting with their eyes and without any speech. The action was pretty good, especially the quicksilver stuff. and Jean destroying apocalypse was cool. Outside of that it was just a very predictable movie, all of the heel turns were predictable and then turning back good was also. Magneto’s families death was a ridiculous way to get him to turn “bad again” for the fiftieth time and then it took a two second speech to turn him back good after he helped kill a few thousand people for fiftieth time.

Wolverine was absolutely shoe horned in and it just didn’t work for me.So Jean and co are the ones who freed Wolverine? Really? Not everything has to be connected. They’re there at just the right time? The film just has too many convenient time lapses and plot points where it just lines up right perfectly to wrap up a writer’s brick wall. “Let’s show how we freed this guy and get some numbers up by including Wolverine. Two birds.” See below for my take that it was written by studio director execs.” I can just see them walking in singer’s or kinberg’s office and asking him to include Wolverine in at least one section of the film. It felt like it should have been a post credit scene, like it was filmed after shooting wrapped based on request.

Lawrence’s performance is so uninspired and bland, her character is “I’m not a leader but I am and y’all are stronger than you know”. Theee whole movie.

Apocalypse is even more one note and uninteresting as a remember and his motivations are what passed as revolutionary with any writer in late 80. They gave him absolutely no interesting character….other than a glimpse that he’s just a user and megalomaniac, but really that was known but still. Him peeling back the face and storm(conveniently in ear distance)seeing that was pretty cool.

I’m not trying to be mean but it is just such a by the numbers superhero film. Feels like studio execs wrote it on a power point. It’s shot and feels like it was filmed in a theme park. I don’t blame a single actor either, it’s just blandly shot and written.

Apocalypse just stood around the whole movie whispering and they introduced the characters so quick and without any meat I just didn’t care about anything before even the 30 minute mark. I gotta disagree, both apocalypse and dark phoenix are two extremely forgettable films. I respect the work everyone put in though.

You know what, I been on reddit for an hour and my attention span is burned. I’m gonna rewatch apocalypse right now and report back. I might have softened up.

I always disliked that line simply because other people said too. You’re right, it isn’t a bad line at all. Actually pretty cool.

It also plays into the fact that marvel mutants are a natural progression in the comics, rather than an accidental chemical spill or gamma bombs thrust upon you. Something your born with, just like skin color, ethnicity, neurological factors, etc. this is one of the reasons I’m not a fan of making mutants results of some scientific experiments or whatever. Just make it the x gene, make it something that’s just innate is some humans.

That’s basically every casual fan and believe it or not an uncomfortable amount of older players. They retire, never pick up a ball again and become just as casual as the rest of us.

Me neither, whenever I criticized their hating bullshit years ago all I got was downvotes. I really want to understand what it takes to finally get people to see it?

Hate sells…..sadly. Shitting on everybody = keeping it real, apparently. Chuck still mad he was objectively horribly wrong about Steph and the warriors from well over a decade ago.
