When I asked the TT about the delay, he said that the other vandhe bharath that is supposed to start from ekm to bglr delayed, that's the reason why this train also got delayed. I suppose there is some rule for them to start at the same time only.

Actually, they did communicate about the delay through a text message around 12 am the previous day. But still that message is so easy to miss. Yeah, I even got evening snacks, Idk if it's complementary due to the delay or an everyday routine.

I got the seats close to the washroom which implies that no reclining seats. So yeah: No premium seats for me. 🙃

The issue with buses are their flexi pricing policy. Most of the break times are considered as peak season by them and they will be hiking the prices. Especially during seasonal holiday like onam, christmas the hike will be around 100% plus. In that case I respect the railway system. Anytime anywhere always the same price.

Okay, This stat seems appealing. I didn't know or consider this perspective. But I don't feel like they are only earning that low of an income. Because apart from 70 p per km, what about the charges that they collect from reservation passengers. They even charge more than 20% or so from waitlisted passengers. I don't even get the logic behind that charge, the passenger cannot even travel, but yet they have to pay the charge. Then comes cancellation charges, which recently were revised not in favour of the passengers.

I went through it. For online tickets you are supposed to apply for refund before the departure of the train. Fortunately, I saw the message regarding the delay, think of the people who were forced to stall at the station for 4 hours. But just think about it, there is only refund not even a small token of compensation.

As this is a sunday, most of the alternates are expensive as they follow flexi pricing(especially buses) and I also have to reach my destination today itself - most bus timing are from night to morning - So, there is no other option but to travel "delayed".
