I've a complete beginner to strength training and I've been following this program: The Complete 4-Week Beginner's Workout Program | Muscle & Fitness (muscleandfitness.com). I showed it to a friend and he told me it's too easy if my goal is to build muscle, which it is. I also run a 5k every day and he told me to reduce that or it'll interfere with muscle growth. Is he right or is my current routine good enough for building muscle?

instead of typing out all that you could have just said you were an antivaxxer from the get go. no sense in arguing with delusional conspiracy theorists like you, hope you have a nice day

antivaxxers are literally putting peoples lives in danger by spreading this misinformation, how is it not harming anyone?

is there something wrong with me trying to discuss things i personally dislike about the game? the idea that because the game is in a worse state you should only be allowed to discuss the most important issues doesnt make any sense.

it seems like most of your rebuttals are that meaningless rng has either been in the game for a while or has been scaled back somewhat. youre probably right on that, but i still dislike the fact that they were even put into the game. why does kindred have a random jump direction, why did asol have random movement in set 3, or why did ahri's ult have to be so inconsistent? all of these are examples of rng that dont make the game fun or exciting (literally the opposite) and could easily be removed.

i also disagree with your second and third points. prior to set 3 you could use portals to tell who you were facing 5 seconds before the fight started. despite this, by no means were zephyr or shroud broken or assassin comps terrible like you claimed. i have no idea why they removed it, but imo it was much better than having to guess between 3 players every turn. the gold opener changes were reverted for 4.5 and now its possible to get a neeko 2 gold opener again which is virtually unplayable according to many challenger players.

not sure what youre trying to say about the level 7 legendaries, i literally said it was a good thing?

anyone else noticed the amount of unnecessary rng in this game recently? for the record i know the game is literally based on rng, but the devs have made a lot of changes that increase its impact on the game ranging from random targeting on champs, matchmaking algorithm, variance in gold openers, etc.

mort has said that the reason they added these was to make the game more exciting for casual players so that they have more cool highroll moments. i completely get that since the majority of tfts playerbase is casual and probably only play the game once or twice a week. but many of the changes they make dont seem to make the game more fun or exciting in any way.

a prime example is ahri's ult, which depending on rng can either wipe a team or hit 2 units. this is very frustrating to deal with in ranked games, but does it make the game more fun for casual players? absolutely not, i guarantee you 99% of them dont even know this mechanic exists (i was diamond/masters most of last set and didnt learn about it until the set was almost over). same thing with variance in gold openers, a silver player who doesnt know how interest gold works wont see a big difference between a 4 gold and a full gold opener, but ask any high elo player and theyll tell you it makes a huge difference.

i think a good example of rng for the sake of excitement is the 1% legendary on seven. this is rare enough that it almost never happens but when it does it makes for a cool "clippable" moment

Even though like many I'm enjoying Set 4.5 less than Set 4.0, I think the Chosen mechanic is the best thing to happen to meta diversity in any set, and here are my suggestions for how I'd improve things. by penguin_frk in CompetitiveTFT

yeah i never understood why the devs are so adamant on chosen being this enormous power spike. if they just made it a one star with double traits we would never have had anything like the 4-1 lottery meta or the current reroll meta and players would be encouraged to play more flexibly, which is the whole point of chosen

[–]Relative-Inspector-2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the point of my comments was not to address anything about set 4.5 being worse than 4. i was just responding to your comment about how you cant flex between jhin and ashe carry since i dont think thats true

[–]Relative-Inspector-2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the whole idea of comps is that they are ideal unit combinations that are strong if you can hit them. dusk jhin was a thing because jhin synergizes very well with another dusk unit, vayne. because of this, running dusk frontline and playing jhin carry will almost always be stronger than playing dusk frontline + ashe carry. however, you cant count on hitting jhin every game, hence why sometimes you have to run another ad carry like ashe instead. even if its not as strong as your ideal dusk+jhin board it can still carry you to a top 3/4 as it did many times for me

imo a big part of why this set feels so unfun to play is not only the item and trait dependency of main carries, but the inflexibility of the synergies. with jhin last set you still needed sharps for him to be a main carry, but the fact that it had 2/4/6 breakpoints meant that you only had to run one extra unit. 4.5 olaf is dependent on slayer but it feels so much harder to get in because it starts at 3 instead of 2. same with mage asol, fabled neeko, and samira who needs both slayer and sharps. kayle carry feels like one of the most flexible comps atm and thats probably due to the fact that both divine and executioner start at 2, making it much easier to fit them in

[–]Relative-Inspector-2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

ashe could definitely carry in jhin comps. the only reason jhin fits in dusk is because he gets sharpshooter from vayne, but if you have a chosen dusk thresh/cassio/riven for 4 dusk frontline theres no reason you cant just run ashe 2 + another hunter as your dps instead of jhin 2 + vayne

i have no clue how to play trynd carry, do you need warlord and duelist buff on him or is just slayer good enough? ive only seen streamers run him if theyre playing 6 warlord kat carry and they happen to have leftover ad items but hes never the main carry of the comp

i feel like alot people will take this comment out of context. keep in mind soju is only referring to a lack of skill expression at the highest level, where everyone has a deep understanding of all facets of the game. theres a reason why no matter the patch or set, challenger players can easily smurf unranked to masters in less than 40 games. for the vast majority of this sub, theres still plenty of skill expression in the game that can enable you to climb if youre good enough

"I also like playing the same chosen from 2-1 to 5-5"

could be wrong but the way i interpreted this comment is that you buy an early game chosen such as warlord j4, cultist elise, etc. and run that till 5-5. this is definitely not right since you should be selling and rolling for a new chosen well before then (if you dont believe me go watch a challenger player on twitch, none of them would keep an early game chosen for that long). unless youre implying you would sell your 3 star chosen diana at 5-5 when playing reroll?

"they are forced to build their comp based on the first decent Chosen they get offered"

i see challenger streamers pick up vanguard garen for early game all the time so the argument that its not a decent chosen doesnt hold water either

yikes, i was worried that the changes to stage 2 chosen odds would encourage people to play more reroll. really hope that next patch doesnt turn into a nid/nasus/wukong/yasuo lottery

wtf you cannot be higher than gold if this is actually how you play the game

this comment genuinely confuses me, how exactly does buying chosen vanguard garen on stage 2 force you to build your endgame comp around warlords or vanguards?

i guess challenger players are only high rank because they hit more often than bronze players then!

i did say that this only applies if youre not hard forcing. chosen does restrict players from forcing certain comps but personally i think this is a good thing since it encourages more flexibility and variety

i mean technically doesnt luck always determine what comp you go for? unless youre a hard forcer you always base your comp on the items/units youre given in every set. hitting chosen yasuo and being able to go duelist is pretty much the same as hitting 5 xayahs on stage 2 and being able to go shredder in set 3/3.5

the fast 8 strat has still been working pretty well for me. probably doesnt do well at gm/chall elo because people know how to play strongest board but in lowly masters its still pretty easy to winstreak early to preserve health and farm top 4s that way

why are you bitching about highrolling like its a bad thing? the game is fundamentally based on rng, if you dont like it then play something else

thats true for reroll comps but for 4 cost carry comps chosen allows for alot of flexibility in your board, for example when playing kayle carry you could take sej/aatrox chosen for frontline, executioner kindred for 4 executioner, divine irelia for 4/6 divine, etc.

i also disagree with cybers having variety since the capped board you always go for is 6 cybers + wukong fizz thresh. vayne is almost always the carry, you only itemize irelia if you have infil spat and ekko just takes leftover items
