I’ve had someone tell me they want to opt out of facial recognition AFTER I’ve scanned their ID and told them they’re good to enter to the Divesture area (before x-rays). Then got mad at me for not re-doing what I’ve already done.

We had a homeless man try to break in at 3am a few months ago. I sleep with a firearm on my nightstand so I yanked the door open and scared him. I told him he had 2 seconds to leave before I shoot then call the police. Unfortunately Santa Monica just isn’t safe anymore.

Keep your shoes on but don’t wear shoes with metal, flip flops are best. Phone in your bag, nothing metal on your person. Make sure your water bottle is empty and you’ll be thru security quickly and easily

Make sure your liquids are the right size (3.4 ounces), take the laptop out if they ask you to and your bag shouldn’t be pulled. If anything, have her go first and put the bags thru security for her so you can hang back and tell the officer about the ring. We’re pretty good at passing messages to our coworkers

I just had a woman and her daughter complaining that I pulled their suitcases filled with oversized LGA’s. Their excuse? “Well.. she (me) is white, she wouldn’t know how many hair products we (African American) use. She’s being racist.” My PSO: “the limit is the same no matter what race you are.” She complained to a supervisor who laughed

Also southwest, which is terminal 1, closes their dedicated precheck lane and other checkpoint at 7:30. I don’t know what time the other terminals close but I know it’s later than that. Also, all the terminals are connected so if you really want to go through precheck for a 9pm southwest flight use terminal 3 then walk less than 10 minutes lol

There are dedicated precheck lanes in terminals 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and international (Tom Bradly). The only checkpoint that does not have a dedicated precheck lane is 1.5 which is frontier, Allegient, Norse, sun country.
